  • To all english people. This song is NOTHING like the original, the original has depth, feeling and it's got a message. The only reason i can find that they could've changed it this much is that if they didn't, they would've needed to change the whole song(wich would be like she came with a different song) Get a dictionary and translate the song from swedish and you will see what i mean ;)

  • the originals are always the best, its better in swedish!

  • HAHAH she's homophobic because she's a REAL christian.

  • @lollopisemis CAROLA have never bin A homofobik..SHE LOVEZ HOMOSEXUSL PEPOEL.

    ALVYS..............

  • great song in Swedish&English I like to hear it in finnish

  • I believe the song was originally written in English as "Love isn't Love" but translated into Swedish and renamed "Stranger."

  • Hun skulle ha`vundet dengang. Absolut den bedste sang!!!!!!!!

  • i love the song..but true in swedish is better

  • Much better in Swedish, but thanks for posting!

  • The Swedish word Främling means Stranger in English :D What have ya got the words Främling means Love isn't love? Have ya used Online translator recently to find out what Främling means in English? I guess not ya have :p

  • Främling is Stranger in English, but the English version of this song is called Love Isn't Love.

  • @MoodMan35 He meant in the way that the Swedish version of Evighet ('Eternity') is Invincible. No need for smart remarks...

  • @MoodMan35 you can't translate the words from swedish to english in an exact way, that's why you name the english version something else. it's the same with basshunter's song, "boten anna". according to the english version the song is named "now you're gone", and the swedish one "boten anna".

  • she so cute ;))

  • Actually the English version was called "Love isn't love" not "Stranger" ;)

  • sugggg

  • omg i thought främling means loved one

    im so shamed about myself.

  • nice show outfit.

  • i liked it but i liked in swedish better

  • Much better the Swedish version!

  • She used 2 hv a Streisand nose?

  • The name is "Love isn't love" ;)

  • Its nice to understand the words, but still I think every country should sing in its languagh - its so much more interesting!

  • I've heard a rumour that she is very homophobic??? hmmm :/

  • Yes, once she said so. But I think no one knows if it's really true. Most of her fans is gay but also some of her friends and colleagues.

You can find more information on English Wikipedia for example.

  • oops :P Some of her fans.. not most ;)

  • Why thankyou....you're too kind ;)

  • I know xD

  • erm guys, if someone is homophobe...he or she is not gay but afraid of homos or hostile towards them!!

  • She seems to have some strong opinions on homosexuality, but I think it's mostly because she is a dedicated Christian. It seems that such attitudes are frowned upon more strongly in places like western Europe and especially Sweden. Where I live, if you think homosexuality is at all okay, you're usually looked down upon.

  • NOT IN DENMARK!!!!!!

  • she is not homophobic.. she is just a christian:P she sings in my church some times¨^

  • wow, next time she's in your church, give her a big kiss for me! ;)

  • hahahaha, actually she comes there on wednesday on a conference, last time i sat at the road behind the V.I.P seats so i actually sat on the seat behind her, and she borrowed 100 crowns (its like 15 dollars) from my friend xD

  • WOW! I'm not a relgious person, but I'm seriously thinking of coming to your church next wednesday! Which row should I sit on ;)

  • haha! last time when i sat behind her i sat on row three^^ wich country are you from btw?

  • I'm in England. Right, row three here I come! I'm putting my coat on as we speak..

    See you soon! ;)

  • hahahaha! yeah! if you ever is in sweden come to Word Of lifes church;) in swedish it is called Livets ord

  • Hey cheers mate! I better try and learn a few swedish words. I'm afraid I only about three Swedish words...."ikea", "saab" and "abba". I'm sure she wont mind.. ;)

  • hahahhaha.. try: Hej Carola du är vacker ikväll. It means : hello carola your looking beutiful tonight.. btw.. do you know who runar is? xD his her ex housband, and his my friends uncle xD and im serious:P its really funny xD

  • LOL wow, I didn't realise she was divorced! Hey, thanks for the Swedish sentence...I have written it down to remember. I hope it means what you said, and isn't full of nasty swear words! I trust you HAHA ;)

  • hahahaha! it does i promise :P and no i dont use bad words^^ but yep she is... the man Runar sörgard is.. well.. a little been strange.. look him up! haha

  • Haha, well I've just got Runar up on google images. Yep, I gotta admit, Carola can do better. When I arrive in church, me and you should have an arm-wrestling contest, and the winner gets carola. OK! ;)

  • Or just say :

    Du är ondskans vidrigaste avkomma.

  • oh ok, but what does that mean?.....

  • It means: Your evils most vicious child.

    Snön är gnistrande vit.

    The snow is sparkling white.

    For real no joke. :)

I'm not a big fan of Carola or her opinions, but her songs just stick in my head and I find my self humming the tunes of Främling or Fångad av en stormvind.

  • Hey there tiger, thanks for that translation into English! Yes, her songs do tend to stick in my head too. What do you think about Charlotte Nilsson Perelli? Which of the two is the most popular in Sweden?

  • Hm... I don't know really, I think they are quite similar.

But Charlotte make more music that's new. While Carola sings more psalms and stuff like that.

I like some of Charlottes songs but I can't say I'm a huge fan.

But I find mydelf humming more Carola-tunes than those of Charlotte.

  • @deanyorks she said homosexuality was unnatural and could be 'cured' through prayer.

  • @deanyorks

No idea, but it wouldn't surprise me, she has no connection or whatsoever to reality. Probably been a member of every religious sect in Sweden by now. She's the closest thing we have to a taliban or fundamentalistic yanks. :p

  • This is much better then the swedish version.

  • so different from the swedish one. hahaa.

    but i like it.

but at eurovision she sang it in swedish right?

  • I like both languages. I only understand the english version but I find I appreciate the song more when I don't understand it. It's just nice to hear both versions

  • That's nice to hear, swedish songs doesn't use to be good, but the swedish orginal is a way better than this english.

    Äkta svensk schlager!

  • Svenka versionen är bättre. The swedish verion is better,

  • Den är bättre på svenska! This song is much better on swedish

  • I agree, but now I know hwta about this song is. I am from czech republic an i dont understan swedish:-)

  • I am looking for the dutch version for ages. It was on a cd I once saw and didn't buy it!!?? Does anyone have that version, maybe mp3? Thanks.

  • Original lyrics are way better. This one has no message.

  • I don´t know swedish, but is more beautiful in swedish than in english...

  • Well, the Swedish version is much better, the real impressions are gone, anyway, still better than actual casting stuff ... Cheers, Sven

  • the swedish version sounds soo much better and more like an original (självklart eftersom d e på svenska..) there's no connection between the lines is this version....

  • I love this. Where can i find this version of the song? Is it on some CD?

  • Hej, I've got it mp3 if you want.

  • Actually, the song was originally written in english by a almost completely unknown man called Stuart Slater. It was Monica Forsberg who made the remarkable translation to swedish. It's really outstanding! Her translation surpass the original lyrics by far! It became one of the best swedish lyrics ever written! It's so perfect! Every little word, every little feeling, every little syllable fits so well into the melody.

  • Tack for the info and the song is beautiful in both Svenska eller Engelska.

  • Oh holy holy!

(sorry Carola... don't want to offend your religion) but this is the best laugh I had all morning. Lets go back to the Swedish and the yellow flying suit!

  • shit vicka goa jeans o härlig rök man hade på 80-talet! haha

  • Swedish version is a lot better but she sings it really well. The English version of 'Fangad av en Stormvind' is a much better English version than this.

  • Haha den svenska är lungt mycket bättre, vafan jävla skitöversättning >:/

  • sweedish version is realy better than this one!

  • stranger.... hmmm no one is as strange as her though

  • What annoys me about this version is, she sings to a guy in 1st. person and then suddenly this is changed to 3rd. person.

Other than that, it's good to be an alternative version.

  • I´m with you ;) But this is not SSSOOO bad for be a translation.

  • Swedish version is so much better. This is almost bad.
