Yes there was asbestos in the building. It was removed on many floors but I think there were still about 40 floors full of it. There were many toxic substances in the dust and first responders and others who worked on the clean up are dying from cancer and other lung diseases. Most are fighting the workers compensation insurance companies for wage loss benefits, medical supplies such as breathing apparartus, and medical care including medication. They are dying and being abused while doing so.
