@WorselWorsel I played my first game with priestesses, had the best special power to go with them (seafaring), yet.... completely messed up.
1st turn: I took the central lake and the region next to it.
2nd turn: I go in decline (of course), and stack my priestesses onto the region next to the lake.
Then my opponent takes all her skeletons and wipes out my Ivory Tower. Had I not been greedy and stacked them in the lake, the win would have been guaranteed. Now I lost big time...

Nice review. Thanks!

For the record, with the Be Not Afraid expansion you get a new container, which happens to take all new races and their tokens.

Keeping your races separate? Wow that is racist.. No just kidding nice looking game.

Yay! New expansion with a new tray that fits all the extra stuff from the original mini-expansions!

This game is just sensational! I like the idea behind the grand dames :)

lol at "The Gypsies! Some people are going to hate these folks."
That was just... That really should have been phrased differently.

@WatcherThePunk LOL. I see your point.
Great racial, though. I think it would really make them a very special race to play.

@WatcherThePunk I hate Gypsies and I was okay with that.

I just got both expansions, it's sort of a pain that you can't store them in the box very well!

he forgot explaining ransacking, didn't he?
still, good review, as usual ;-)
i think these expansions add some good flavor to the original game. some combinations are great, though others are really dull.
don't like the leaders one much either. as somebody said, they help your enemies more than yourself. absurdly designed idea.

@kamikazegb No problem. Just remove the races/powers you don't like from the mix, before starting the game.

Nice review Tom.
I fit all the expansions in zip locks that I put in the top of the box (I had to take out the old punchboards from underneath the insert).
I'm not a fan of the Leaders, they seem to help your opponent more than yourself.

For the Ivory Tower power of the priestesses you only take one from each area you control when you decline them, not all of the priestesses.
Peace Loving Goblins are phenomenal, so are Were-Elves.

Thank you so much for this review!
New races and abilities are the only thing you need to add to this terrific game.
So, I'm sure I will be very happy with both expansions.
I love Small World and it seems that I will love it even more with Cursed and Grand Dames!
