  • Its a horrible subject to deal with and I see your point. I feel weird about agreeing with parts of your msg. I have always given to charities for famines and hope that other countries would come to my aid if my country fell into famine.

I still think we should help those in need.

But I do agree that the big problem is being overlooked.

Population and resource management needs to be up there on the world agenda.

I agree that charities should look at the causes as well as the problem at hand.

  • I agree with your video. Their should be a limit on children. There is a reason that people die and it is as you say checks and balances. In school we learn that if their is an influx of grass that will results in more rabbits which in turn makes the grass disappear and the rabbits die, this happens to humans just the same. Their is no way to feed all human beings and still maintain food produce. More people = less food!

  • Hey, Jamie~ Why don't you move to China where the government will be more than happy to tell you how many children you can have. Please do it immediately.

  • @pacificarandy

Your attitude has nothing to do with solving the problem and everything to do with entitlement. That is the problem. People like you who think that the problem is in no way connected to them AND they can have as many children as they want because it's their right.

When children are crammed into classes that are too big for personal attention, when the commute is so bad that it takes hours to get anywhere, and when they live 12 inches from their neighbor, blame yourself.

  • @Truedoogie

I do not agree with you. I have no children. I already live 12 inches from my neighbor. I will never support the idea that government can dictate the number of children a family can have. You have a right to decide how many children you have and the right to go live in a country where this decision is made for you.

  • @pacificarandy

So explain to me, with your mentality, what is the long-term effect on the population if everyone adopted your mindset? Is it a short sighted vision that ends with, "I am an American and I should have these rights regardless" or does it have a plan for the future where the result of your entitlement DOESN'T crowd the planet?

  • @Truedoogie

I've made my decision. If everyone was of that same mindset, we'd have no families reproducing at all. You & your family can decide how many children to have, too. You, or the government, however, are not entitled to dictate what other people decide. And your hypothesis that an explosion of humanity is inevitable is unsound.

  • @pacificarandy

You are assuming that I believe that NOBODY should reproduce. You made that up. I never said that.

In fact, I never specified, here or in the video, what I think the regulation on children should be.

It should be 2. One to replace the mother and one to replace the father. In certain regions where there is available schooling, transportation, and food, that number can fluctuate until that region reaches capacity.

  • @pacificarandy

My "hypothesis" that an explosion of humanity is inevitable isn't a hypothesis. It's fact. The world is adding more than 77 million people ANNUALLY. How is that either a hypothesis OR unsound? It's happening.

  • @pacificarandy

Also, I am still waiting for your long-term plan to make sure we don't overpopulate the planet, which is in effect right now. Is your solution to bury your head in the sand and pretend that it isn't happening or do you have a long-term solution that is in accord with your entitled rights to reproduce in America?

  • @Truedoogie

Luckily, you have the right to your opinion and the right to promote it. I have the right, or entitlement, to disagree with you. And I do. And those folks working on better farming techniques to avoid famine have a right to do their work. In some impoverished countries, many families will have 5 or more children, onIy to see just one actually survive childhood. I appreciate the time you've taken to discuss this with me, but you won't change my mind. ~Randy

  • @pacificarandy

You have failed to answer nearly every question I have asked you. You are refusing to recognize that there is a problem and regard the potential solution as a threat. You are identified with your rights as an American and to have those rights threatened is a danger to you. Because of this, anything that proposes change is met with ignorance and hostility. You have no argument here other than your are entitled to a right. That makes you dangerous to my child's future. Thanks.

  • @Truedoogie

Anyone ignorant enough to call a person dangerous for having an opinion is, in fact, DANGEROUS.

I do not wish to continue this discussion with you any longer. Thank you.

  • @pacificarandy

If you don't wish to have this discussion, then don't reply.

I'm not calling your opinion dangerous. I'm calling your attitude, specifically if it affected your choices on breeding, dangerous. It's dangerous because people with your beliefs feel that it is OK to crowd the world with more people IN THE FACE OF a problem that is the direct result of there BEING TOO MANY PEOPLE and you think it's OK for the simple knee-jerk reaction reason of "It's my right". That's the danger.
