Mana seems to be stuck within the same sound with each album. Although, I'll admit that the organ, harpsichord, choir, and other dueling sounds are his signature, his music just stays within one overall tone; there's a lack of depth. I'll give Mana credit for the sound he's engineered, but he needs to move onto something new. Also, he should definitely consider getting a professional mix and master, not that his mixes and masters aren't bad, but there's room for more creative development.
@RozenHeim If you read the last page of the album booklet,he does have professional masters and mixing engineers,he only produces his music and all but he does this professionaly. sorry for my writing
@RozenHeim yes...but.. I was actually just telling my sister the opposite... a lot of the stuff "does" sound the same, but I was talking about how much I loved their sound. And how I hate when bands have 2-3 really good songs, but then the other ones arent so good. and this way, if you like 1 song. your guarenteed to like the rest. and you don't even have to listen to the same song over and over again. each song is little-to very different if you listen enough times.
@RozenHeim True. M10M sounds the same as it did ten years ago, and so much like Malice Mizer did, after Klaha replaced Gackt, that still feels like it's the same band. His sound is great, but he certainly could use some change.
@katysweet13: Who says little children don't see gore everyday on television? And your view of the word "faggot" as homophobic says alot about you. You're messed up in the head. "Faggot" means "bundle" and all you people bundle together under your little fads (i.e. goth, emo, and FML) so that you have somewhere to belong because you're afraid to be yourself. This is where the growing up come into play. Seems you're also quite stupid. Not surprising, most Americans and British are.
@TheKuroiSheep As far as I'm aware "faggot" is a bundle, but only of sticks used for lighting a fire. So using it as an insult is almost certainly homophobic, and can hardly be defended as being other than that: most people will understand it as homophobia.
@martynleon: If you view it as homophobic, then you have some latent and suppressed thoughts in your own head. I'm quite comfortable with who I am now, but what I've noticed is that most people who get into this band are flocking to a fad they can "belong" in because they don't believe in themselves. I believe in myself. That says more than any of you can comprehend.
@TheKuroiSheep "Faggot" I have learnt can mean a bundle of anything, so thank you for educating me. However, using it as a single-word sentence doesn't make much sense in my mind. Any word with mulitple meanings has room for people to view it differently - surely you see people will perceive it as an insult when it's a word used primarily as one?
I don't "worship" any musician - I no fanboy/girl, and agree Mana isn't the whole band. But, what's so wrong with needing to belong? We all do somehow.
I don't see anything wrong with fandom, let people worship whoever they want. Who says that there can't be someone in the post-apocalyptic future who stumbles on across a Moi Dix Mois cd or poster and then finds that Mana should be the new god or whatever. Shit could happen lol
Fads always attempt to ruin a good thing. I understand that you have your little cultural habits of sensationalising a celebrity and all, but Mana is not the whole band. Yes, he writes the lyrics and participates in writing the music; but without the rest of the band Mana is nothing. And Mana isn't in it for the money like most of your gods on the TV. So quit treating him like he is. Also, anime is for little children. Grow up. But anything to belong, right? Faggots.
@May825: Did I mention anything relating to his interests? No. I was stating the facts that he is not the whole band and that you people treat him like hes a god. When really, he's an artist who participates in making music. And American society is ridden with habits like treating popstars and celebrities with special attention but Mana is neither a popstar nor is he a celebrity. Well, I would say that you people made him out to be a celebrity because you treat him like you treat your popstars.
Mana sees them hatin' he's playin.
Hi to all the haters from all the Mana fans
