An 18-year-old Asian female in one of the cars was showered with shattered glass, giving her numerous cuts to her arms. She was treated on the scene by ambulance officers.

Having lived in both countries I can fairly say that the anglo aussies are much more racist than the anglo British.
The anglo British are more educated and civilised people and they embrace migrants more openly and do not call them wogs etc.

They were stolen from their families though, but also the white Australians were stolen from their families. It was the era know as the Stolen Generation. Last year Kevin Rudd, our current PM made an apology to all the Aboriginals that were stolen. Later the white Australians also wanted an apology, but that hasn't happened.

Having lived in both countries I can fairly say that the anglo aussies are much more racist than the anglo British.

um GSdudeUK, our ancestors were Europeans just like you! Plus I've never heard of Aboriginals being killed in Tasmania or anywhere else in Australia. They were stolen from their families though, but also the white Australians were stolen from their families. It was the era know as the Stolen Generation. Last year Kevin Rudd, our current PM made an apology to all the Aboriginals that were stolen. Later the white Australians also wanted an apology, but that hasn't happened.

The stolen generation happened in the forties,fifties,the Australian government of the day thought it best to take some children away becouse of their treatment and the poor living conditions,and becouse some were unfortunate enough to have parents who could not care for them,just just like they do now,no matter what colour the child is.Its called social services, maybe some of these children may have been OK where they were ,but who knows.

This isn't racist and a non-story. Blackface has very specific connotations in the US which can't just be transferred to other cultures.

i am an aussie that's appalled by our treatment to some of our aborigines, and i'm not condoning that comedy skit, yes it was in bad taste. However did your news shows tell you who was behind the face paint?. Ony one of the characters were of anglo origins, the others are of Sri-Lankan, Greek, Italian, Lebonese and Indian decent. All these nations have been the butt of racist slurs over the years, but still these 5 guys didn't think they were being racist, to them it was an attempt at comedy

The point is that Channel 9 promotes and thrives on these types of racial undertone segments and programs.
The Clare The Bogan fiasco from earlier this year was a set up stunt by C9 to degrade 'wogs'.

I think they were trying to look as best they could to the jackson five, but using black paint instead of brown must have been a joke. Hell, I didn't actually find it that funny, but there just a bunch of guys going for a cheap laugh.
