  • OKAY THAT WAS UNCALLED FOR

  • MY MIDWIFE!!! She is so awesome!

  • "were ya headed?"-taxi driver

"nowhere, im shooting a video in the back seat of your car"-lady

  • ...Really? Don't forget to tip your driver?? -_-'

  • Ewh..

  • Thank God I thought the video was going to show an actual delivery

  • Oh right cause a towel is something I usually have in a taxi.

  • @sfurner then use your shirt smart ass

  • O.O

  • I must admit, I'm a little creeped out..

  • I hate to alarm you, but the baby isn't crying...

and the mom doesn't look too well off either.

  • What about the part where you scream at the top of your lungs and panic?

  • How to deliver a baby in the field:

    Call 911.

Let the trained paramedics do it.

  • i wouldn't suggest pulling the baby out by it's head like in the video...

  • ok yeah for those of you that live in a perfect world, be prepared for just about anything to go wrong, if you really want to learn how to birth a baby in a taxi, educate yourself for what to do when the baby isnt coming out properly, ie backwards, and brace yourself for a stream of screams and profanities even if it doesnt come, because birth isnt as painless as that, and its not going to be quiet, your going to have the mother screaming at you...

  • and i guarentee theres gonna be at least one jackass saying " no no you gotta do this!" and if you dont know, then you look him in the eye and say "than what the hell are you doing standing there! switch with me!"

  • that looked ALL VERY clean hehe :)

  • OWH GOD even if it's rubber that's scarey...

  • NONE OF THAT HAD ANTHING TO DO WITH THE DAMN TAXI

    ...interesting none he less :D

  • what a stupid topic - even for youtube...

  • Ya right. Like a cab driver is going to accept a woman who is in labour. Give me a break, Do you know how mess up the car is going to get? He would call an ambulance. Jeesh. What a dumb video.

  • the selena gomez commercial on youtube is EXTREMELY overplayed alreadyy ;(

  • Informative! Thanks!

  • porno u proply put yr dik in that thing women!!!

  • She just yanked the "baby" right out...

  • this is bullshit advice!!! You should remove whatever is in the baby's airways (mouth & nose) before giving air!!! as for the umbilical cord, you should take a shoelace and tie a tight knot on the umbilical cord (not the part where there's skin though!!!)...

  • Thanks for this help. I had both of my children at home with the help of professional midwives and it is the best way to go if you can.

  • Tenia que ver visto este video antes. porque ase 3 meses mi hermana tubo su bebe en mi carro. y yo no savia que hacer... mi hermana recivio el bebe sola en la parte trasera del aunto...

  • Thank you ***** 5

  • it kinda looks like she used a little tounge when she gave that baby "a couple puffs of air" eww

  • Hi! Im Laurie for LeapLetVexRig, er, Rape Leg Vex Lit?

    Anagrams FTW anyone?

  • That's also a freakishly huge baby. I was only 5 pounds when I was born. That kid looks like a plastic toddler mannequin that she stole from the local Kohl's. Then she wants to make sure the baby is crying and continues to be attached at the waist of the mother so he can grow up to be a freakishly huge boy attached at his mother's umbilical cord. How sweet

  • Oh my. I just got nauseous watching a plastic baby come out of a rubber vagina. No way will I be able to make it through child birth

  • I delivered 7 babies last nite!!

  • wow. i've always wanted to know how big a vag i when in labor

  • I think this will help some one. I know I couldn't had any of my three kids in a car.

  • ...bet it hurts like hell

  • yawanna find a fellow who can satisfy my needs

  • errrrrr

  • lol

  • just push it back in

  • Comment removed

  • Hope my girlfriend is not pregnant...

  • i like how "sparticus: Blood and Sand" is in the related videos

  • lmao

  • There may be occasions when there are many complications to contend with. But the idea for this emergency situation, is that post-birth, (assuming that all goes as depicted) you are supposed to get to the hospital, and not simply head for home. Then again, you could be lucky, and the cabbie is a certified OBGYN doing taxi duties until a placement becomes available under Obama care, as is sometimes the case for the UK's NHS, for those with a medical degree from India or Pakistan, for example.

  • srsly: WTF?

  • lets just say that it takes Ball to put this on internet

  • there's a litttttttttttle bit more to it than this.

  • I don't like how the first couple sentences were delivered with an upwards inflection, like she was asking questions.

  • @daro601 he may be suffocated you moron, and could die. the mother can't do that, she is in shock, she is in low blood and oxygen. you have to do it, or some1 there... it's just the circle of life...yeah she maybe have a desies but it's the risk.

  • nice job

  • any kid knows how vaginas look like, wake up!

  • ok geeze!

  • This chick is spooky as hell.

  • da babys deflated!!

  • nice manikin lol

  • "see mom, i might have to deliver a baby in a taxi. that's why i have that rubber lady pelvis in my room!" -bret on viral video film school:)

  • I hope that never has to happen. xD

Thank for the tips btw. :)

  • fudu machod

  • Too bad births are not always easy.

  • i know how this feels itz not that easy

  • Lmfao, I bet some people that watch this video will start yanking on the babys head.

    "COME. OUT.. OF THERE!"

  • lol you're suppose to pull on the head!

  • actaully your not, you can strain the neck or hurt the baby ;)

  • Well I've delivered 12 babies this month and yes you do pull on the babies head...HARD! Those little guys are plenty pliable lol

  • negative.

  • lmfao. i'm sorry, but she makes it sound so easy. i would hate to be that taxi driver.

  • If the baby is coming out so fast that Mom can't even make it to the hospital and gives birth in a taxi, that's because it's a normal, natural birth, and doesn't need asistance to get the baby out. If the baby was stuck or a breech and it was more complicated, mom would make it to the hospital anyway.

  • wait if you have to go to the hospital anyway why not just go there in the first place?? :p

  • And if ur baby doesn't start breathing after a minute... There is somthing seriously fucked up and u need to get to a hospital right away! But remember always stay calm!

  • Hey hon! We dont have to go to the hospital anymore, just get in the back seat of the car. Dont worry, I watched this on youtube.

  • i was thinkin the same thing!

    dude ur fuckin right! lol

  • ROFL genius

  • @sonydude46 lol

  • ....

  • I thought if the baby doesnt start crying you turn it upside down and slap it on the butt?!

  • true

  • if your baby doesnt cry after a couple of kminutes theres something fucked up that would of been so funny if she said that

  • i wonder wat the driver wud be thinkin

  • wow. i never knew it stretched that much 0.0 ( perv ) lol. that is what he would be thinking

  • ughhh no kids 4 me anytime soon >:^/

  • lol i hear ya!! :3

  • arent u suppose to like pat the baby so tht it starts breathing lol

  • This is one of the VERY few Expert Village video that is actually decent.

  • omfg! im never gettin prignant!

im just gonna aadopt that looks soooo pin full!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dude that wasn't even real - If you see a real one.. You'll realise how painful it is lol.

  • lol im adopting too

  • your are errected?

    uahhhhhh uahhhhh uahhhh!

  • UGLIEST BABY

  • i see it on tv against 5 minutes -gg-

  • arent you supposed to get the mucus out of the babys mouth and nose first? idk i havnt had a baby but isnt tht wht ur supposed 2 do?

  • if a baby is born without drugs

(as it will be if it is born en route to the hospital) most will cough, sneeze and cry to expel it on their own. The puffs of air will intiiate this response more than actually supply air to the little one.

  • I think your calm overview of delivering a baby in a car is excellent. Well done! I hear this video helped a man do just that. Hoorah for the internet and for valuable contributors such as yourself! 5 stars

  • arent you suppose to check the babys mouth first?

  • in the hospital they would yes, especially if baby doesnt cry. the mouth and nose are cleaned out with a hand held sucking device. also you should check the roof of babys mouth to make sure it is in tact. to do this you just touch the roof of the mouth with your pinky finger. it should feel the same as yours.

  • what if you have no towels or anything? I have a leather jacket

  • She said your shirt, not your jacket. But if you don't have a shirt on, I bet the taxi driver would. If you don't have a taxi driver (ie your own car), mommy should have a shirt on. I know you'd be in a hurry to get to the hospital but hoping we can assume that. ;-)

  • Is that why taxi's have leather -ish seats?

    ahah

  • Wrong. What nobody wants is to be stuck with you at their side in a cab if they have to deliver their baby.

  • u would if u want it to live, wtf!

  • crap if i was in labor and a situation came that my baby was ready to be born the last thing id do is reach in my purse to tip a driver.....that would have to come later when i got out of the hospital

  • I admit, I agree.

  • Who cleans all that mess?

  • cab driver

  • you'd have to pay the cab driver the cleaning fee. same as if you puke in there LOL

  • she almost pull the head off

  • who knows this might help haha

  • lol rod ryan would put stuff like this under links and guests

  • um u should know that when a girl becomes pregnant it gets bigger down the for the delivery... dumbass

  • 94.5 The Buzz DOES ROCK!!! WEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

(and that taxi cab driver might be pissed that his upholstery is jacked...)

  • what happens if you have a mis carrige? what do you do with the baby then?

  • 94.5 The Buzz Rocks

  • lol i heard this on the radio

  • LOL SOME1 WATCHED THIS VID BEFORE HER WIFE DELIVERD HER BABY AT HOME! He deliverd it :P

  • ComOn :b

  • I saw it! oh god..!!

  • Hahaha

  • Ohhhhh man whare the frack is the CENSORSHIP ...

    now i love the FCCCCCCC

    :[[[[[[[[[

  • i can't do it... i am scared of blood !

  • I think every father should deliver their baby themselves, DIY is a good thing, every father should learn from this video. Of course there are some risk when the baby stuck in the middle of process, it's part of learning, medicine book has solution on this.

  • I agree sir!

  • Tip your driver? In the UK it's an unwritten rule that a taxi should always a take a woman giving birth to the hospital for free!

  • I think midwives are awesome and often give better care to women than doctors. Having a baby is not an illness. Women have been giving birth for many thousands of years without the aid of doctors and have done this spectacularly well so far.

  • Look at the death rate of newborns and mothers 100 years ago and now. That's why doctors are better than midwives.

No, having a baby is not an illness. But any malady that occurs during birth can kill the mother, the baby, or both. If the midwife cannot get the mother to a hospital very quickly, then there's going to be some major problems or possibly fatalities.

  • there are a lot of factors for the death rate of mothers and babies 100 years ago. Some being sanitation issues and nutritional deficiencies. Mothers with the knowledge we have now days will have much better outcomes. more complications actually arise just from being in a hospital situation. mothers will birth better and have more success when birthing in the manner nature intended; being able to follow their instincts and be in a stress free environment. with as little interventions as possible

  • what she showed was all wrong

  • I also saw it on BBC and I had to come and see this.....and it was worth it

  • Awesome! I saw it on th' BBC!

  • I saw this on BBC and came to watch this

  • Read about this video on the news, thought I'd come by to educate myself in case it happens to me too. :)

  • This is on BBC news ;)

  • bbc topic is "YouTube helps man deliver baby "

  • Then leave the taxi drive a good tip

  • I'm a bit concerned that she performs EAR (Expired Air Resuscitaton) on the baby simply because it's not crying. I've had three children and only one cried, the others were breathing and happy. She also doesn't suggest first clearing any foreign object (eg. mucus) out of the baby's mouth (preferably with sterile, gloved finger) - breathing might force the object into the baby's lungs.

I believe everyone should do a first aid course to learn the how AND why.

  • Amazing! I just read from BBC website how a man delivered his wife's baby according to instructions from this clip. Google "YouTube helps man deliver baby "

  • So did I - just now.

  • "Don't forget to tip your driver"

    He's probably fainted by now

  • he gatverdamme

  • I WAS BORN IN A CAR ... WOOP WOOP ... that was the eighties though ... no yank telling anyone how do anything then ...

my mother just did it herself ... no need for some pervy taxi driver, or patronising lady ....

good news about the helping someone out though ... but resorting to youtube in an event such as that, REALLY? ... bad times

  • the magic of finding this video form sky news lol!

  • You are in the Dutch newspaper with this video. An Englisg guy saw your video as an example while his wife was giving birth, well done video !

  • me too

  • lol got linked here from bbc. some guy used this video when his wife started giving birth unexpectantly

  • Same, its amazing what you can find on the internet! thank you YOUTUBE! =P

  • all right then

  • An engineer in Cornwall delivered his baby son after watching a instructional video on YouTube.

LOL, when in doubt use Youtube.

  • She didn't mention delivering the placenta that is why the mother needs to go to the hospital unless you already know that and have clamps and scissors on hand to cut the cord after it's done pulsing. If the Placenta is not delivered the mother can die of blood loss. Just FYI

  • I may be wrong but I thought the placenta (afterbirth) was expelled naturally by the body a few minutes after the baby was born so there's no way it could remain inside. And no main vessel is connected to it so any bleeding is no more dangerous blood loss than the blood from periods.

I would think any pregnant woman knows about the placenta so I repeat that if the baby is born in the cab and doing fine there's no need to go to the hospital. What the woman needs is a thick pad to get home.

  • That isn't true - the afterbirth can be up to a couple of hours after the birth, and the blood loss can be substantial in some cases.

With any birth not overseen by a midwife, the mother and baby MUST go to hospital, there are a wide range of complications that can happen

  • I just checked Wikipedia and the article was written by a pro b/c it's full of jargon but it says the afterbirth starts separating from the uterus right after the baby is born and is spontaneously expelled WITIN SECONDS OR MINUTES.

In different cultures women allow gravity to help them give birth so they squat or kneel and the baby falls off like a ripe fruit into waiting hands. Much smarter, less painful.

ppl have been brainwashed after hearing 1000s times "see your doctor" on TV.

  • 'Within seconds or minutes' denotes the minimum time - no upper parameter is set, and it can be much longer.

If I'd just given birth, I'd want the baby to be checked for any problems not picked up by antenatal scans. And for my own peace of mind, with postnatal complications such as eclampsia.

Wikipedia not always the best source though - if you have any questions about pregnancy, I'd suggest talking to a doctor or midwife.

  • Wrong - the placenta is USUALLY expelled within minutes. Some hospital routinely give the mother an injection in order to expel the placenta. Sometimes it is retained or pieces of it or the membranes are retained and this can be serious. Any woman having given birth should be checked out by health professionals. And bleeding after childbirth is MUCH heavier than a period.

  • Not always, I attended a birth where the midwife had to reach up into the woman and remove the placenta because it wouldnt come out on its own. Most people that give birth don't do much research (generically speaking) they depend on their doctor to tell them what to do. I just want to point out to those who don't know the placenta needs to come out that it should be added to the video. :-) Other medical information such a cord prolapse and placenta previa these can B life threatening.

  • i found it funny when she said gentaly and it looked like she proba pulled it ouy :')

  • what kinda stupid sarcastic question is that..u take the baby to the hospital so the cord can be cut i mean ur not gonna stay attached to the baby is whole life r u n plus they have to do other things like check for health issues n some other stuff idk.....

  • The cord can be cut without med assistance, come on, use your brain. You clamp the cord about 6" from the baby to stop the blood flow, and again clamp it at 7" and cut it with scissors between the clamps. The cord will dry out and fall off the baby in a few days and it will be evacuated with the afterbirth on the mother's side.

Nature has planned it all so it's simple and easy. Look, animals in the wild manage by themselves, and the process is identical.

  • Now that the baby is born, what's the use of taking it and the mom to the hospital? Better get back home and have some peace and quiet and quality time instead of all the stresses you get in hospital.

  • that is like in a emergency, say if you and your wife/husband are on the way to the hospital and you see the baby's head and you know it wont wait until you get to the hospital.. then you need to be prepared to make the birth of the baby and take care of it until you gt to the hospital so they can do the real deal

  • But the birth process is a natural phase of life, I mean it's not a disease that requires all kinds of medical equipment. If the baby is already born and all that's left to do is cut the cord and get the afterbirth out, there is no need for medical care. Come on, don't push the hospital industry to people when it's not absolutely required. How many thou$ would a hosp charge for cutting the cord? Many ppl have no med insurance and they don't need the expense.

  • yeah true... but they didn't teach how to cut the cord :) oh just get over it... all i know is that the point of it is to help people know what to do in times like that.

  • Maybe you could edit the video to add the info about cutting the cord and remove the advice to get to the hospital if all went well.

Delivering a child is no small matter and making a video about it deserves some preparation. Don't take it the wrong way, we don't all succeed at the first try!

  • eat it!
