My husband brought me a "turntable" for me for ALL of my old albums. After REALLY listening to the music, it unjustice that just because of who they are and their lifestyle, they could not record longer. I saw a clip of Wayne talking about this, and went back and JUST listened to the music......THESE GUYS COULD REALLY ROCK....Especially my man Merrill.
True talent... dancing, and I mean really moving... singing live, not missing a single note... AND with corded mikes! I would like to see some of today's acts do that!!
I absolutely love this video! I have watched it well over 50 times and will continue coming back. They show so much of their talent here and look so adorable! Has anyone else noticed Donny is slightly pigeon-toed? I find that so charming and cute!
whoops-- except for JAy-but he had tons of girlfriends. my roommate's sis dated him once in 1977. So did my own sister when they were in Pennsylvania in early 80's. she and her friend were asked to lunch by Jay and one of the bandmembers. she had a blast. (And here I was living in Utah . . .) Just kidding, I was married by then myself
This reminds me of when the guys would have a pool party at the Riviera Apts. which they owned and lived at. My roommate on campus's sister lived there and we would get to go too. Was always too shy to approach them, but I sure had FUN watching!!! 'course by then most of the guys were either married or very serious-including Donny. I remember seeing Debbie for the first time with him and KNEW they were meant for each other.
I think'75 is when I knew they were dating but it was'77 when I first saw her pick him up at the Osmond studios. They were very secretly loving to each other-the little glances, etc.I watched him go w/ her out to the car after the crowd left-my ride hadn't come yet&once they were at the car &thought they were unseen,he took her in his arms, etc. It was obvious he adored her and vise versa.I felt like quite the voyeur. Never told anyone about it until after they announced their engagement.
I think it was the 3rd season?? It was I think one of the first few shows they did when they moved to Osmond studios maybe? i can't remember when they started telecasting from there.
@luvrof70s Well, the reporters didn't much come to Utah back then and the paparazzi were not as aggressive too. If he would have been living in LA, that might've been different. It was interesting to me, though, about how may other people knew about it-- other students at BYU and it still never hit any teen magazine.

WHY, WHY, WHY do people feel a need to compare the Osmonds to the Jacksons?
Will the black vs white topic have to surface throughout the history of the USA?

OMG, did their singing suck! They were great barber shop quarter singers, but their singing is really bad here.

@cherry32959 papparazzi must not have been very strong at that time. If that were to happen now they would be all over "Donny's Mystery Gal". LOL.

Does anyone know if "Fallen in Love . . ." was an original tune by the Brothers?
hotroute 2 years ago
The song is titled "The Girl I Love", it was released on their "Love Me For a Reason" album, and was not written by the Osmonds.
