This isn't going to sound very PC but does she have a learning disability? I know she's only five years old but she seems to have a lot of trouble listening and focusing on what to do; acting out/inability to sit still/random noises. Plus, she kept calling her eyebrows and eyelashes "eyeballs." Maybe she's just got bad ADD but she didn't seem to be as "with it" (for lack of a better description) compared to a lot of the other kids her age that have been on this show/that I've seen in real life.

When children actually enjoy an activity, they don't have to be forced into doing it. Try taking them to their favourite place, asking them to play with a toy they wanted or give them their favourite snack - it's never a battle. Alexis obviously doesn't enjoy what she's doing whatsoever. Practise isn't enjoyable for her, so why force? God, these pageant parents seem completely ignorant and really destructive to their child's well being. This mother is so selfish.

Hey, lets look at the positive side. Watching Toddlers & Tiaras has made me love and respect my mom (and my dad!) even more than before. My parents have NEVER pressured me into doing things I dont want to do. But they've also never let me do things they know are harmful to me. THANK YOU T&T for making my parents SHINE...though unfortunately, at the expense of other children. Poor children. I'm an only child & my family wants more children, can we adopt them???

Pageant girls are usually immature talentless brats. She'll probably end up like her mother: fat, no ambition in life, and putting her kids in pageants. I've also seen where just because their kids are in pageants the mothers think that their daughters can MODEL! Yeah right. Your ugly little kid isn't that beautiful. She's only "pretty" when the make-up goes on. And most women only reach 5'5'' anyway.

Dude, kids have tantrums. That's what they DO. I thought they handled it fairly well. The girl wasn't screaming or anything, she was just whining. There was a time out and Alexis seemed to respond in a way that leads me to believe the time outs are usually enforced. The pageant thing, I'm not so sure of. But I do think at least some of these girls WANT to be in the pageants, the way some little boys WANT to go to ballet.
