Im sorry but all you hear is the 22 would suk as a home defense gun but would you want someone to start shooting at you with a 22? dont think wed have any volunteers
Nice gun, nice shot. But you ought not shoot glass; it makes for nasty cuts on people and other sentient beings that accidentally walk on it or brush against it. Peace.
It shouldn't, but I'm no expert. At least the commercial bullets should not be able to. I would imagine the least needed would be a 223 with a tuff bullet. Again, I'm kinda stabbing in the dark on that one. I'd love to hear others on that, I asked myself the same not long ago.
what do you mean that strong.. depends.. if you have steel tipped bullets then it will go through .. else good bullet proofs will also stop a 9 mm .. that is why it is called bullet proof vest .. and .22 is the smallest calibre to start with. many security personal prefer a .22 since it recoils less which means you get to shoot more quickly than a desert eagle . whihc after the first shot if you missed . good luck bringing your revolver back in range
@oooTheNextRuleRooo No real, paid security person I know of in their right mind would use a .22 to defend themselves or others, that's just reckless. Unless you're talking about some Russian assassin making a suppressed head-shot under cover of darkness, using a .22 in defence is silly. most people with half a brain TRAIN with the gun they will carry. Training makes it possible for quick, accurate follow up shots with a 9mm or even a .45 (which is highly exaggerated in the recoil department).
@robs104 thanks for that .. i must be doing something wrong in my state level shooting training along side police officers then .. but I do agree .. many carry and use 9 mm for the sheer power and also because that is what they are assigned from the govt. .. and you are also correct .. you should train with your own weapon .. but many who carry 9mm cant shoot for fck sake ... they are just happy blasting a huge paper target at almost 10 ft distance .peace and be safe
@oooTheNextRuleRooo Just asking but are you in the USA? In you training are you using a .22 because they are cheaper to shoot or because that's what you're expected to carry? I could almost see carrying a target-type .22 if you KNOW you could make a head shot, because that's the only thing that would effectively stop an attacker. I agree that many who carry SHOULD NOT be because they couldn't hit a barn from the inside! I'm also not saying that 9mm is best... But I do carry a glock 17 in 9mm.
in the US you dont need a permit, you just have to pass the background check you fill out before buying the weapon
but you do need a permit if you want to carry it on you out in public and stuff like that, without the permit it basically sits in your home unless you are at a shooting range
@TheZoroastrizm YOU KILLED A STRAY DOG, thats not a coyote or any kind of a WILD animal you are a FUCKING ASS HOLE!!! now if it was a stray cat that would be a different story

do you need a gun permit to get a 22 cal handgun or you can just buy it like a bb or pellet gun?

Well if you are in my country(Costa Rica)you will need to some thing :
1. Written and practical firearm exam
2. Phsycological evaluation
3. Delincuency records check-out
4. Register your gun with a Gun Department here
For carrying the weapon:
5. Apply for the carrying permit
6. Attach government stamps and paperwork
The whole process now takes around 1 week..and here even the 22lr is considered a firearm requiring permits....

i dont think that .22lr would kill a wolf.. maybe a .22WMR will but i doubt that a .22lr will
i killed a wolf once with 00 buckshot.. took me only one shot.. but it took 3 shots from my CZ .22lr to kill a stray dog..
