  • Etta is wow !!!!!!!! Je älter desto besser !!!

  • was this from "Austin City Limits"

  • <3

  • RIP Etta James, thankyou for rocking and rolling the world with your ledgendary voice You are missed but the music you gave never dies god bless Etta sing with the heavens forever

  • Its not really that good a recording, to be honest. OK, but she is way past her peak here, just going thru the motions.

  • @1953Excalibur Oh Yeah,, I forgot you're the one that's not getting older. Plus it's not A RECORDING it's an actual personal appearance. NO ARTIST sounds like the RECORD when they do it LIVE.

  • First, you have conquered the US, after, you have conquered the world and now your music is played into universe. Etta James, you'll never die! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH...!

  • Sweet!!! Got to love that voice...she is just as beautiful as she ever was. Thank you.

  • is that not frank gallagher on the old mouth organ

  • Girl, you ain't nothin' but AWESOME....love your voice.

  • OMGoodness. Now I am older, I know what she is talking about! OOOOMMMGGOOOODDNESSS. Mama' you nasty! LOL !

  • @THECONNIECOLE ---lol..girl, know what you mean!

  • She is the QUEEN.

  • for a woman of her age to still sound that great she is the queen

  • Okay..Aretha is definitely The Queen Of Soul...but Miss Etta James, just has to be The Queen Of The Blues, in my humble opinion anyway. Love you Miss Etta! Love You!

  • Just finished watching Cadilac Records and something told me to search for Etta James and I'm sold! I can't believe this is the first time I am seeing this..... Just love it!

  • VORREI TANTO CONOSCERE I 3 DEFICENTI A CUI NON PIACE STO VIDEO

  • ... so cool! Great Blues, great groove! I wish I had this sound with my band!! Amazing! ... This is THE Music!

  • Wow, got it goin on!!! Nothing like live!! not too be rude but why do people call her Black? it seems that one percent black and your black. Hmmm, the "white" dudes on keyboard and harmonica did alright, though the sax, base, and especially drums were very lame. Two sets of drums and they couldn't come up with a bit of a riff somewhere? I love it when older people kick ass on the younger. But with Obama Care isn't she slated to be killed cause she is past the age of usefulness? Brother O-bama

  • Freakin love you Etta..!!!

  • Thanks for this video and song! I love Etta James and the blues...it's a shame that the women who sing the blues don't the recognition that the men of the blues do

  • Etta is hotter than hot! This whole band is FANTASTIC!

  • wow apart from Tina, she can do this song al day long

  • ROCK ME BABY!!!

  • Beyonce can go sit on a stick and rock that! That's more important to her anyway, you know, showin tits n azz. But she wants you to "appreciate & recognize" her talent...I don't think so! Etta rockin da house in a chair! Be-yon-saying might pull it off if she's nude and strikes a pose--but that wouldn't be a concert, it would be a photo shoot for Playboy Magazine wouldn't it? Anyway, Etta was very beautiful as a young woman & her "REAL" hair was fabulous! There's nothing fake about Etta.

  • @Drrrummergirl Be-yon-saying haha YOU CRACK ME UP good for you. Beyonce all T&A nothing else.

  • YES YES

  • excellent

  • THIS IS THE FUCKING BLUES JACK. Damn the only thing I would have added was a tenor sax solo

  • Pure Soul..

  • OH! ETTA YOU ARE SO DAMM HOT!! THE TRUE QUEEN OF SOUL....

  • WA WA WIII WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • awesome~ awesome LADY!!!!!

  • ive never heard of etta james till the other day, man she is good xx

  • @stirkyls9 About time you learned where real Soul Music comes from. ETTA goes WAAAAY BACK. When she was a teen she had DANCE WITH ME HENRY

  • OMG I am so agreeing with all of u she is so amazing....and Jimmy whoooooooo boy lol..loving this..the whole live crew is burnin down the house...

  • super grandma hahaha

  • Jimmy kill-it

  • Jimmy You always kick ass

  • Etta is hot!!..I have loved this woman for years...she can sing the blues. This is one of my favorite blues songs..She is the queen!!

  • @mustangpatty51 Etta inspired Janis,,YOU DON'T THINK JANIS THOUGHT HER ACT UP OUTA THIN AIR,,DID YA?

  • @mustangpatty51 Forget you,,I'm in love with mustangpatty50 copy cat. !!

  • @mustangpatty51 I love her more than you do,,And I'm a 61yr old White guy that MC'd many shows at THE KIT KAT KLUB in Asheville,N.C. in the 70's when I worked at WISE radio in Asheville. Lived above Tunnel Road in a RONDETTE and was divorced,,,what a trip!!! Love Asheville & Biltmore Forest & The Sky Club. Shopped at SKY CITY many times.

  • Amazing! Who on earth are the two that hit the thumbs down button?

  • @julliehideaway ZeroBama fans,,,after all he did have Beyondme instead of THE REAL DEAL Miss Etta James at the inaugeration. God I hope they send him packing. Being 1/2 white messes him up.

  • @THEMOJOMANsince1959

I am on the floor with that name...beyondme! That's just as funny as me callin her Be-yon-saying! beyond us and beyond saying! I just can't stop laughing! I'm am truly with you about the inauguration. Etta is alive and singing!! Why do they need a substitute? I'd understand if they wanted to perform a song by Billie Holiday! The music director should have been fired if this was his choice. Or maybe nobama requested 'it' for his..I'll let you all finish that last sentence.

  • @Drrrummergirl Obama doesn't know THE BLUES. He never had the Black experience. He was coddled by his GrMa after his blackman chasing Mom dumped him on her and went back to some foreign country. At least his GrMa had enough sense to run an ad in the local paper about his birth,,to cover his actual birth in Kenya and got busy finding him a Soc Security number. She found him the number of a man from Conneticut that later died in Hawaii. They thought noone would ever want to see a birth certificate

  • @THEMOJOMANsince1959 Well of course Obama doesn't have to appreciate the Blues, he is a modern African/American who never went through that deep south slavery gig. Actually he is probably more likely to relate to urban Latin music, given his background, but so what - maybe he loves Italian Opera, maybe Disco - I mean who gives?

  • @1953Excalibur All I know,,is the BRO gotta GO. Worse President EVER.

  • @THEMOJOMANsince1959 I'm still looking for that HOPE & CHANGE. Given up on the HOPE and all I got is a little bit of change in my pocket. Rev. James Manning is right,,Long Legged Empty Suit Mack Daddy has SISSY BOY mannerisms.

  • She is truly amazing!

  • Right on Etta you got pop dancing!!

  • Fantastica Etta como siempre.

  • lovveee u etta!!!

  • What a Diva! <3 I love her!

  • ETTA GOG BUT YA ALL CHECK OUY BIG MAMA THROUTONS VERSION A THIS TUNE

  • The band is locked and Etta is in her natural true form.

    Love the harp player.

  • fantasticaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa come sempre

  • u haven't heard music til u hear this woman and others who can jam for real with a live band. it is so invigorating...................wooooooooooooooo

  • anybody knows when this concert took place?

  • How she is just sittin' is just music . . . . VeryOk

  • prefer tina turner's version

  • DAM! Thats the only women (well maybe koko taylor as well) i can think of, over 70 that i would rock as if my back had no bone...

These Ladies are untouchable.... its just a shame contemporary music listeners aren't even aware of the existence of these goddesses of soul! Man Does that women know how to sing to blues.... just look how wild she made that little white boy harp player!

  • @ociganito I loved it in the OLD DAYS when shows like hers toured even some of the smaller cities. JAMES BROWN and his show was in Asheville,N.C. in the 70's when I worked there,,these days that would never happen. TOO SMALL

  • Jimmy Zavala!!!! Halleluja...

  • JANIS GOT HER INSPIRATION FROM ETTA and ETTA's STILL DOIN' IT. BEYONCE CAN ONLY HOPE TO LIVE UP TO ETTA'S REP. Whoever named ARETHA QUEEN OF SOUL NEVER HEARD "ETTA"

  • @THEMOJOMANsince1959 sorry, but Janis got her inspiration from Bessie Smith not from Etta

  • r u janis joplin? she was obviously influenced by etta too!! listen to me & tell me i'm not influenced by hendrix.

  • @deadgreenroses I listened to you and YOU WERE NOT INFLUENCED BY HENDRIX. Maybe by Steve Martin (look him up)

  • @THEMOJOMANsince1959 I KNOW THAT'S RIGHT

  • @THEMOJOMANsince1959 Why do you have to throw people under the bus? If you love Etta and feel she is the best then that is fine but grow the hell up.

  • @TheLipzShow WHAT BUS ?? I didn't see no bus !! oops I mean "any bus". I just didn't like what Cadillac records did to her. And i love to stir it up and say things to get reactions. Working "on the air' all those years I could really make the request line phones almost melt. I used to 'intro" records like this HERE'S THE FLAMES and THAT GUY WHAT'S HIS NAME. The JB fans would "jump on that".

  • @THEMOJOMANsince1959 It has never been stated better... I've always said Etta is my Queen of Soul!!!

  • @THEMOJOMANsince1959 Or Big Mamma Thorton :)

  • @jonny86121 Leiber & Stoller wrote HOUND DOG especially for Big Mamma Thorton not Elvis. They NEVER put the words "you ain't never caught a rabbit" in the song ELVIS' bunch did that. Besides It's a woman's song anyway. Of course they never bitched,,Elvis sold 15 million copies of it. ELVIS could've said three words over and over for 3 mins. on a 45 and it would've sold a couple million in those days. He didn't really love his fans or he wouldn't have pilled himself to death.

  • @THEMOJOMANsince1959 thats cause she's the queen of blues man

  • @THEMOJOMANsince1959 she is the QUEEN of blues

  • Jimmy Zavala is the harmonica player.

He does cook ! He's one of the best.

Etta rocks and is still the queen of the blues. No one does it like Etta.

    What a woman !

  • @roosterchicky Little WALTER is the ONLY harmonica player.

  • Yea !

  • Good Lord, who is playing the harp?? That guy cooks!! Damn...

  • i lke it when tina turner sangs it but etta sang it good to.

  • this is originally song by B.B King isn't it?

but now the song is sang by B.B Queen

  • q grososo todos esos musicos!!!!!!!!!!!! por dios! exelente!!

  • Bring it on... Etta you are the best

  • @SuggarPye , She is the best !

  • oh i love Etta

  • Etta James has the best female voice ever

  • What a good stuff!! It's a shame that there's a commercial for a DVD of a concert by The Killers next to the video...

  • I like that she doesn't make it all about her, but cheers her band on to do the solos and show their talent to the crowd.

  • I think BB king and Etta James would make a great couple!

  • stevie it's awesome...

  • she should beg Big Momma Thorton for forgiveness, she doesn't do this song justice. Tell that to beyonce about takin someones song

  • it's true,dude:)

  • prefer tina turner's version!

  • Sang the song girl. LOL, rock me like my back ain't got no bone. Well alright.

  • It's such a great line!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Subtle yet classic. Old school knew how to work for all it was worth.

  • is a beautiful woman and a great singer

  • i love this woman!!!!

  • I wish music today was as meaningful as it was then

  • @soultruthful

    EXACTLY!

  • @soultruthful THANK U I AGREE WITH U

  • this song was not originally written by any one we know of this song is probably as old as the blues itself it's been done by many artists but it's older than the lot of them

  • true. cuz i herd tina turner do it. jimi. n b b king

  • Who originally sang this song? Wow, she sings awesome! Lol badniko5... I never heard of her until I saw Cadillac Records.

  • b.b.king sings this originally,great stuff

  • Oh yea forgot, Ike was really inspired by B.B. King and Howlin' Wolf. Gotta think of them before thinking of other songs when it come to Ike Turner.

    Thanks for the INFO!

  • you need to listen to Big Mama Thornton.Rock me baby (oregon 1971) One of the greatest female blues singer that ever lived. Not bad on the harp either!

  • When Koko Taylor and Etta James finally have to leave us something wonderful indeed will be lost from this world. They and select few others embody something that VERY few artist today have yet been able to touch time will tell though maybe another Koko or Etta will rise through the drek of today's quagmire of mediocrity and achieve the fame they deserve.

  • @sifu50 You got that right. in other words RIGHT ON !!!

  • Man....this is the best! And she is a true lady master of R&B....and yes ...who is that harp player? +++++++

  • Jimmy Zavala

  • Thanks for that info!

  • @outatimebdr Jimmy Z's the man!!! Great guy too :-0)

  • @Nuge17 YES SHE IS

  • bb does this much bettA

  • Hi yes you are right ....but this is 1st runner up

  • I love ya!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • she talks it like it is. she is awesome!

  • She is such a awesome singer. I never heard of her until she dissed Beyonce and President Obama.

  • @badniko5 AND she should have. 'AT LAST" is her signature song,,ANYBODY that's ANYBODY KNOWS THAT. And if zerobama had lived lived the BLACK EXPERIENCE ,,He'd have known that. Rev Manning is RIGHT.

  • that's what I'm talking about, alllright!!

  • who is that harmonica player

  • i love you ettaaaaaa i love i like yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • ETTA!!!!

  • Derr Etta James,

    you girl you rock.

    your fan,

    Donyel

  • Etta! No other name in the blues world has gained the catalytic response and joy that Etta James has!

    Go Etta,

    I love ya,

    Dove

    xx

  • That harmonic player is awesome, he can rock me anytime!

  • This is the best there is! I remember when I was a kid, I wasn't allowed to listen to Etta, she was risque. Now that I am older I think she is the greatest..............

  • She's the greatest! And she didn't have all the hype that Beyonce has. It was a different time. Beyonce is a talented young woman but this is authentic soul

  • ohh yea baby rock me baby ;)

  • Hey Sally7007, I bet Etta is just crushed that you are no longer a fan. Why don't you just chill and drink another glass of the Obama Kool-Ade.

  • I love Etta James, I don't know what she said about the President or Beyonce, but she must understand that it would be very risky to have her perform at the inauguration because she can get pretty raunchy on stage. i have seen her live more than once and she puts it out there. its usually said in jest, but she's very racy in her comments. She is better suited for the night club than for an inauguration. I still think she's one of the best of all time.

  • @winsome1235 I'm sure ETTA JAMES knows how to act and present herself. That's just a bunch of crap. Our COMMUNITY ORGANIZER is like OJ who hadn't been Black for 30yrs. until he got into trouble. That uppity bunch thought they were ABOVE,,,ETTA JAMES. Hell, if I had an Inaguaration years ago I'd have had BO DIDDLEY,,CHUCK BERRY,,SOLOMON BURKE,,WILSON PICKETT,,JAMES BROWN,,MUDDY WATERS and I'm WHITE.

  • USA=Freedom of Speech For Everyone, what applies to one is supposed to apply to all~ She has a right to say whatever she feels like. Etta paid her dues a long time ago, she makes no excuses for her life or lifestyle, until we walk in her shoes, we cannot speak! Grow up! And she may be FAT...she is still human!

  • Etta used be full figured. She has lost a lot of wieght and looks great.

  • I love this woman, she is independent and tells what she feels. If you want sugar and spice and everything nice please look elsewhere.

  • Apparently later reports indicate that she was joking. Bad joke regardless.

  • @yaddymama She meant it and she was HURT,,wouldn't you be? Beyonce will never last as long as Etta,,,,like 55yrs. since "THE WALLFLOWER" (DANCE WITH ME HENRY) came out. I started in R&R myself in those days.

  • Is she still alive?

(Sorry but I just discovered her and I love her!)

  • me two is she

  • yes!!!

  • yes!!!

  • Yes, she is still very much alive and performing - as real as it gets. She also has lost a lot of weight since this show. Looks and sounds great.

  • @ohmygeeitslee Yep and probably on stage somewhere tonght. Look her schedule up"on line"

  • I just saw the movie, "Cadillac Records" today. I have this live cd. I had no idea that there was also a DVD. Where can I get it? Thanks for posting.

  • Jimmy Fuckin Z!!!!!

  • Etta can make you feel everything she sings.u cant set still 2 any of her stuff

  • Have ya' ever heard Johhny Winter's version. It'll rock your pants off! This version is great too. Etta is awesome.

  • didnt tina turner do this same soong.

  • she is just THE QUEEN!

  • damn love etta, she truly is one of a kind!

  • Thank you very much for posting this. I cannot think of another female singer who could sing this as well as she-Etta is IT!Has anyone posted her singing "Sweet Little Angel"?

  • Avec plaisir ! C'est posté !

tag = Etta James - Sugar on the floor

  • If anyone has "Sugar On The Floor" please post it!

  • I love this woman! She has so much spunk. What I wouldn't do to see her perform 'Crazy Feeling'. Thannks for posting.
