I think sonic adventure series was the best thing happened to sonic, bringing it back will be Awesome, in adventure 1 was only sonic the main hero and in 2 sonic and shadow, in 2.5 (sonic 06) was sonic shadow and silver, i feel that the best story for adventure 3 is sonic and shadow co-op not like sonic heroes, but in more sonic adventure style, with a more mature story not like elise kissing sonic or sonic like the stupid game sonic unleashed, think about it
i just wish people would stick to the original side scrolling style and add maybe a few 3rd person spots and keep it like the originals which in my opinion were a lot more fun than the new crap they're bringing out!
Sonic Generations, and Colors, and Black Knight, Chronicles, and all those others are pretty awesome.... But I am thinking SA2 was the best.... And I don't think Sega would make a bad game on purpose... I think they really do want people to enjoy their games.... But I am sure they have a really good reason for not making an SA3....
See let's be honest, what we really want fans of sonic is to return to the origins with sonic classic, why sonic tube lots of generations more sales than all games released previously in 3d. If really so many wanted people to have sonic adventure 3 already what would have done.

My question is, what made modern so bad? But your comparing two different kinds of sonic if you were born with the classics first you like them better but if you were born in this generation you like 3D better. The "classic" jumping on Eggman (Robotnik if you say) without a story was cool but now you have more attacks and different characters. But that's why Sonic went downhill. Sega changed too much.

Because instead of simply jumping on enemies, you can use the homing attack to kill a string of them faster and even reach faster or shorter paths? Look, I was born in 89, and played the classics games to death, but I liked them for the overall fast paced action which we still have in every game. If they went downhill with change, it's because people didn't want to accept said changes even if the game are actually good.
@NikoHalen If you really like classic Sonic then play Advance,Rush and Sonic 4. Sega is still trying to keep Sonic in his old times but not exactly with the homing attack and stuff because they have to throw in something to make the games fit with this generation if they leave it exactly as the classics it would be too old and awkward having a game like that in this generation.
Gameplay 3: Tails could be on foot using gadgets he makes to his advantage, or ways to hack robots to do something to help him get through certain areas, or simply fight for him, like the recruiter grenade or other stuff we've seen from Metal arm: Glitch in the system. For certain levels, he can be in his mech from SA2, but it can be customized with different weapons and other specs, like Armored Core
Most of these concepts are about taking past mechanics and putting them together with updates.
Gameplay 2: Knuckles and search for stuff again, but mainly small portions of stages, and then after finding the needed item(could be emeralds, switches, etc), knux could run through a full platform stage, warehog style. No loops, just enemies and traps to fight through to get o the next area to look for something else or simply, finish the area. Boss fights could looking for weak spots of the boss, or finding something to deactivate some shield, then fight it directly.
Gameplay Concepts: Like 06, sonic plays normally with full range motion and can gain additional moves, but in certain areas, missions, or bosses, sonic runs at full speed the whole way until he reaches the end, but at this point, with unleashed mechanics, side step, and drifting.
All Shadow would need is what he did in 06 and his own game, Chaos snap and Spear, guns, and vehicles. He could also ride vehicles for certain missions or boss fights like Contra: Hard Corps
@JayWifi If we even had a chance of that happening, it would have to be chaos gamma from sonic battle, because omega is the last one I think. I actually prefer Omega but either one is fine.

1. SA3 Should have some element of free room to it like SA1.

3. Needs awesome music, a great intro and story line.
4. If your going to give knukles and theam song....don't use rap since it dosen't suit his character.

The whole point in calling him Robotnick was because he made robots plain and simple and the fact he was a lot more scary and darker character with that name. I don't mind Sonic calling him Eggman since he is making fun of him, but when the other Sonic games came out after SA1. Well Robotnick started calling himself Eggman and well to me he isn't a top class bad guy anymore. (Personal preference really).

Anyway yeah Japan has always called him Eggman, I only found that out 2 years ago so my whole childhood was based around Robotnick... not just from games but from the old sonic the hedgehog tv show in the 90's. Like you said I guess it dosen't matter what people call him, but they really do have to make him much more scary like he used to be... well more of a challenge to beat anyway.

Sonic Adventure 3 I am sadly to say but I just might never pick it up. Adventure sonic games are AWSOME yes but with the way Sega has been going thati s back then in the past. Needless be reminded back then every sonic game even sonic spinball had awsome things to go with it. That you could pick up and just have fun with it ^-^ shout at the mail man and watch the water pour outside while you run through a sunny paradise...now...im kinda afraid to see another Sonic 06 back out on the market...eek

I'd love to see sonic adventure 3 happen AND be on the Hedgehog Engine. The one that was used for Sonic Unleashed and Generations. In my opinion, they present the best gameplay and best character models, so I'd love to see what Hegdehog could do for Adventure 3 ...if it happens
@SuperhyperC Generations is the comeback of Sonic. Unleashed was the blueprint, and Colors was the prototype. Although I will agree, the Adventure games were AWESOME back then, and to this day I still consider them my favorite Sonic games, right above ShadowTH (yeah, bite me).
sonic 06 should've be called sonic adventure 3 cuz of similar gameplay to the 1st one but nope the game was rushed and never thought of a good title and completely forgot about sonic adventures -_-

@thegamer549 Sorry, but I gotta thumb you down here dawg. Driving a Missile mounted jeep was tight. All those vehicles really needed were parts actually built for them, like the Lethal Highway from ShadowTH, where you had enough room to drive something without wrecking.
@DJGameFreakTheIguana yes, but those don't make up for loss of pacing, and in S06 the vehicles were just hard to control, boring, slow, and not nearly as fun as playing shadow on foot
@thegamer549 Ok, so wouldn't it make more sense for Sega to just make them faster, and create certain parts of stages for you to drive those on for better control? Taking something from a game doesn't solve the problem, it only leaves with one less feature that other people might actually like and miss out on. It's one of the biggest problems in sonic games since after 06.
@DarknessXxArtist Nope, it had no other characters to pick, and that's the first thing it needs to count, so ShadowTH is as much as an adventure title as unleashed and Generations is. Not even close.
If Sega do Sonic Adventure 3 I hope it is based on the Metarax Saga From Sonic X, how cool would that be, also Cosmo as playable, and best of all there'll be no Chris.
Watching this made me miss the old games so much, i was not alive back when Sonic adventure 2 and sonic adventure cam out, but my older brother Sykes and i always played them, this made me re-play sonic adventure DX and Sonic Adventure 2 all over again.
I really do like Sonic '06, Sonic Colors, and Sonic Generations...but yeah, it would be so awesome if there was gonna be a Sonic Adventure 3 that would be so epic it deserves a complete triology thats for sure!

@thegamer549 For real man, I don't forget all the rom hacks you can find at Sonic Retro(Sonic 2 Heroes and SATSEE to name 2) and Fan games like Eggman Hates Furries and Sonic Nebulous. Even when Sega isn't making 2D games, your still getting good quality content from hackers. YOu can even see the shit on the Sonic Hack showcase videos.

You gotta admit though, there's already enough sonic 2D content on the net, and the fans have shown they'll even take some 3D rendered video over sega's own games. They outta just keep that and let us have another adventure title before they take another 5 years to do a new one after it.
Sega will never make a Sonic Adventure 3 unless they make a Dreamcast 2, which they won't because they're software only now and have no plans/desire to make a new console. If you notice, each series of titles are tied to a console. New console, new series & new gameplay style (if only slightly changed).
It would be a 1000 times more fun if they just remake the ENTIRE Sega Genesis (Sonic 1, 2 ,3 & Knuckles) in 3D or 2D without adding extra stuff to TRY and make it more interesting, cuz they might just ruin the remake. Thumbs up if you agree!

@TheShadowluigi64 Not really, cause the most important part isn't there, the adventure formula that SA1,2,Heroes(somewhat), and 06 followed. A single story for each playable character or team and their own set of mechanics. A far as generations is concerned, it's Sonic 5 and Unleashed day stage engine(or just hedgehog engine) 3 rolled up into one game with a sonic CD complex without changing the stage look and time, but going through past stages.

When are we goin' to get what we're asking for if sega is taking request. Bring the variety back. lol
@DJGameFreakTheIguana Personally, I usually only play as Sonic anyways, but I don't mind extra characters if they're optional. It adds replay value. However, I don't like being forced to use them if I don't want to. I think how Sonic Advance handled this was spot on and I wish they'd do that for all the games. Hell I'd love it if they made another Sonic Heroes but where you picked each character (not limited by type and no type-based gimmicks) for your team from the entire library of characters.
@rockguythirtytwo There are a lot of fans who say that, but look at it this way, what if you were playing SA2 and there is no heroes team, just sonic, and he had to look for the emeralds with the stages as they are. How much harder do you think it would be to do it with a char who can't glide or glide? Play the SA2 mod of Sonic robo blast two to see what I mean, I did it with espio and it was hell trying to get to that stuff, especially in the later levels, like pumpkin hill.
The point I was making is that at least sonic had other characters who were better suited to do the job then him, unlike most other adventure games, like mario and those red coins or gex with some of his missions, not only had to do that stuff as they were, but sometimes don't even have a radar. You were forced to play as another character, but at least they were better qualified for the mission.
@DJGameFreakTheIguana I get what your saying but here's what I disagree with: Why even have those kind of levels at all? There's no reason you need to go looking for emeralds in that Spyro The Dragon style running around looking for them like a chicken with their head cut off. Just do special stages like Sonic 2's. That formula has worked best and we've seen it redone in countless other games like Herores and Rush and it worked just fine.
@rockguythirtytwo In that case, why doesn't every other game character enter some special zone to look for something? Think about it, in the story, the characters actually has to find a certain item in order to progress. In sonic 2, it worked but you could actually go on with to, but you also wouldn't complete the game. Most games nowadays go through the full game all at once, and having knuckles look for them in certain places was a way to add them to the story but still progress with it.
@rockguythirtytwo I'm not saying that either, but it doesn't mean it's wrong just because that wasn't how it was done at first. If sega did add a special stage for emeralds, then I'd hope they design the stage like heroes but you don't have to hold a key for the whole stage, or at least not lose it like the chao world keys. There's also the possibility of forming knuckles' mechanics similar to 06(but better), but have search for stuff only in certain areas of a stage if at all.
@DJGameFreakTheIguana I would hope they did it like Sonic 2/Sonic Rush where you just collect rings and avoid obstacles. Just don't do the funky touch control like Rush. (Console equivalent would be motion control/point wii remote at screen on wii)

For anyone wanting the chao garden back: Don't any of you guys think it would be better if the mini-games actually let us play as the chao rather then just cheering them on? At least we can be more active.
Also, it wouldn't hurt to have some 4-Player modes. A foot race would almost be like Sonic R, plus there the other modes from SA2, but it would be also cool, is if we had other game modes based on other challenges, like the ones in Sonic Heroes. It had like, 5 or 6 modes I think?
@DJGameFreakTheIguana Also would make the whole Chao aspect actually worth something and turn it into a sort of Pokemon rather than this aimless 3D Tomagotchi. Especially if it supported Online features like online race and such.

I have ideas for new zones to support SA 3!
1: Pacific Island. It originates from Emerald Coast.
2: Blazing Forest. Green Forest got hit by that bomb pretty good!
3: City Apocalypse. GUN wants Sonic's revenge, and no joke [for sure!]
4: Metallic Prison. Sonic fails but won't give up...
5: Sea Ruins. Sonic found something new!
6: Eggman Casino. Sonic discovered a path to Eggman's new lair!
I can include more of my thoughts, but I can't fit it and it may just spoil it all.

Two robotniks made for an epic game however.they forgot one thing wheres the gameplay?! Wheres the challenge? 1. SA3 Should have some element of free room to it like SA1.
2. Sonic should call Dr.Robotnick... Eggman to annoy Robotnick!, because when Robotnick calls himself Eggman, that just sounds so Stupid for an Evil Genious name!
3. Needs awesome music, a great intro and story line.
4. If your going to give knukles and theam song....don't use rap since it dosen't suit his character.
5. It would be nice to play other chracters with there own indivdual story like SA1.

The whole point in calling him Robotnick was because he made robots plain and simple and the fact he was a lot more scary and darker character with that name. I don't mind Sonic calling him Eggman since he is making fun of him, but when the other Sonic games came out after SA1. Well Robotnick started calling himself Eggman and well to me he isn't a top class bad guy anymore. (Personal preference really).

@WarriorOfTheHeavens Actually, I did. I grew up with him being called Robotnik. But I found out that he was always Eggman in Japan, so I just call him Eggman. Mainly because it makes more sense. But I sometimes call him Robotnik too. His name can be either way, so that doesn't really matter. Just as long as he's still the same guy, it doesn't really matter.

Anyway yeah Japan has always called him Eggman, I only found that out 2 years ago so my whole childhood was based around Robotnick... not just from games but from the old sonic the hedgehog tv show in the 90's. Like you said I guess it dosen't matter what people call him, but they really do have to make him much more scary like he used to be... well more of a challenge to beat anyway.

I'd love to see sonic adventure 3 happen AND be on the Hedgehog Engine. The one that was used for Sonic Unleashed and Generations. In my opinion, they present the best gameplay and best character models, so I'd love to see what Hegdehog could do for Adventure 3 ...if it happens

@SuperhyperC Generations is the comeback of Sonic. Unleashed was the blueprint, and Colors was the prototype. Although I will agree, the Adventure games were AWESOME back then, and to this day I still consider them my favorite Sonic games, right above ShadowTH (yeah, bite me).

@thegamer549 Sorry, but I gotta thumb you down here dawg. Driving a Missile mounted jeep was tight. All those vehicles really needed were parts actually built for them, like the Lethal Highway from ShadowTH, where you had enough room to drive something without wrecking.

@thegamer549 Ok, so wouldn't it make more sense for Sega to just make them faster, and create certain parts of stages for you to drive those on for better control? Taking something from a game doesn't solve the problem, it only leaves with one less feature that other people might actually like and miss out on. It's one of the biggest problems in sonic games since after 06.

Even when Sega isn't making 2D games, your still getting good quality content from hackers. YOu can even see the shit on the Sonic Hack showcase videos.

Sega will never make a Sonic Adventure 3 unless they make a Dreamcast 2, which they won't because they're software only now and have no plans/desire to make a new console. If you notice, each series of titles are tied to a console. New console, new series & new gameplay style (if only slightly changed).

@KuwaitPvP well i can see why you would think that would work, but just the 2d stages in 3d, like the SA2 GHZ would not work as well as you picture it. plus i'd rather they just make a new adventure, that's what the video is for. but if you want to see what the genesis would look like remade, there's a video of a remade S&K stage on youtube, look up "Sonic and Knuckles 3d mushroom hill zone" and u will see.

@TheShadowluigi64 Not really, cause the most important part isn't there, the adventure formula that SA1,2,Heroes(somewhat), and 06 followed. A single story for each playable character or team and their own set of mechanics. A far as generations is concerned, it's Sonic 5 and Unleashed day stage engine(or just hedgehog engine) 3 rolled up into one game with a sonic CD complex without changing the stage look and time, but going through past stages.

I was talking about this to another user a few pages back that many sonic fans are more vocal then others, but there's a good number of us who are tired to sega doing these sonic only games like this and want a new SA type of game. @DJGameFreakTheIguana Personally, I usually only play as Sonic anyways, but I don't mind extra characters if they're optional. It adds replay value. However, I don't like being forced to use them if I don't want to. I think how Sonic Advance handled this was spot on and I wish they'd do that for all the games. Hell I'd love it if they made another Sonic Heroes but where you picked each character (not limited by type and no type-based gimmicks) for your team from the entire library of characters.

@rockguythirtytwo There are a lot of fans who say that, but look at it this way, what if you were playing SA2 and there is no heroes team, just sonic, and he had to look for the emeralds with the stages as they are. How much harder do you think it would be to do it with a char who can't glide or glide? Play the SA2 mod of Sonic robo blast two to see what I mean, I did it with espio and it was hell trying to get to that stuff, especially in the later levels, like pumpkin hill.

The point I was making is that at least sonic had other characters who were better suited to do the job then him, unlike most other adventure games, like mario and those red coins or gex with some of his missions, not only had to do that stuff as they were, but sometimes don't even have a radar. You were forced to play as another character, but at least they were better qualified for the mission.
I do agree about the sonic heroes thing BTW.

@DJGameFreakTheIguana I get what your saying but here's what I disagree with: Why even have those kind of levels at all? There's no reason you need to go looking for emeralds in that Spyro The Dragon style running around looking for them like a chicken with their head cut off. Just do special stages like Sonic 2's. That formula has worked best and we've seen it redone in countless other games like Herores and Rush and it worked just fine.

Think about it, in the story, the characters actually has to find a certain item in order to progress. In sonic 2, it worked but you could actually go on with to, but you also wouldn't complete the game. Most games nowadays go through the full game all at once, and having knuckles look for them in certain places was a way to add them to the story but still progress with it.

If sega did add a special stage for emeralds, then I'd hope they design the stage like heroes but you don't have to hold a key for the whole stage, or at least not lose it like the chao world keys. There's also the possibility of forming knuckles' mechanics similar to 06(but better), but have search for stuff only in certain areas of a stage if at all.

For anyone wanting the chao garden back: Don't any of you guys think it would be better if the mini-games actually let us play as the chao rather then just cheering them on? At least we can be more active.
Also, it wouldn't hurt to have some 4-Player modes. A foot race would almost be like Sonic R, plus there the other modes from SA2, but it would be also cool, is if we had other game modes based on other challenges, like the ones in Sonic Heroes. It had like, 5 or 6 modes I think?
