3ds Max Tutorial Part 10: Boolean Modeling

A very good tutorial, and also very beginner friendly; however I have the problem with more complex objects - boolean 'corrupts' them when I subtract or union, and that really is a huge inconvenience. Is there another way to unify/subtract some objects without getting the polygons in a twist?

Why every boolean tutorial is very simple and make from box + box, sphere etc. why don't you show how to do boolean with high-end editable polys ? because when boolean that very detailed things, your favourite tool 'boolean' starts to get idiot looks I mean just look at the turqoise object:
