mkimura1971: This commercial is not SIMPLY showing a healthy half-naked body. That scenario would be considered "art" by some people (as with Greek statues with nipples). I don't have a problem with art. It's cheapening of a woman when they USE a half-naked woman's body IN A SEXUAL WAY (sexual moves and gestures, a sexual tone of voice, sexual glances, etc.) to sell a product. Don't tell me you see this commercial as SIMPLY a woman's healthy half-naked body...??
I agree this is certainly not art, nor was it meant to be. It is satire, raking across the coals the inane concept of an infomercial sales pitch (with obligatory sexy model) by exaggerating it to create a ridiculous "nymphomercial" (say *that* with a straight face).
If you don't laugh or at least smile when Jolene says, "...as if you can really sell something just because you have a beautiful, sexy, and - just between the two of us - somewhat aroused woman pitching it," well, it's like trying to explain a joke to someone who just doesn't get it. Better for all parties to just move on and tackle the serious problems of the world...

I am completely offended and would NEVER purchase his book due to the content of this commercial!!!! And any woman who would only supports the cheapening of women in this society. How sad that advertisers find this effective due to people who respond to it. C'mon guys, have a little RESPECT and CLASS when it comes to women! And ladies - show RESPECT to yourself and start acting CLASSY...you get what you portray...and what you support. You won't get it by supporting these types of things.
From Wikipedia: "Common uncomprehending responses to satire include revulsion (accusations of poor taste, or that it's "just not funny" for instance), to the idea that the satirist actually does support the ideas, policies, or people he is attacking."
Several years ago, when Irabu, a controvercial Japanese baseball player, was still pitching in MLB, another player of the opponent team screamed and mentioned Irabu's ethnicity. I, also from Japan, wan't offended by that at all, but was offended by the news media who decided that such a simple incident was supposed to be offensive. So, I wonder why this is supposed to be the cheapening of women. How could it be a disrespect to show a healthy half-naked body? Greek statues even show nipples.

Satire. My point is that you misunderstood it, but if you don't like it anyway, that's ok.
