  • @jimbob202019 er..sorry?

The Orient is a term which means "the East". Thats all I new. I didnt realise that people took offence to it 0.o

btw, you might want to check that anger problem with some kid of doctor.

  • @aggressivegeek some kid of doctor wdf does that mean? dont you mean some kind of doctor :)

  • @jimbob202019 Yes i do :)

  • @jimbob202019 I call myself Oriental all the time. I don't find it offensive. It's actually easier instead of telling people I'm Okinawan and Chinese because I'd then have to explain where Okinawa is. A lot of people have no clue where it is.

  • @Kyuubi1161 I’m not going to give you a thumbs up for copying dude...

  • @IIIEEEAAASSS I'm not looking for thumbs up, those comments are full of bullshit. They actually annoy me. I was just saying that because this still hasn't come out and it's five years later. Also, I hadn't scrolled down at that point, so I was completely unaware of the comment under mine. Once again, I don't give one fuck about if I get a thumbs up or not.

  • lol...at the old time until now...the TV is damn different.....i means the size...

  • yea they have experimental stuff, like small screens that are a hair thick and can bend like a peice of plastic while still running

  • I saw this in my local sony store in Canada here, :P

  • you should buy it and send it to me then :P

  • Hah , It costs 3000$ literally..:o

  • i hear another company has an EARLY prototype oled screen that is flexable...

its 2009 now and soon to be 2010

    nothing from yet

  • . . . . .

    clothes. . . .?

  • thats what i was thinkin about... lol

  • wow this is funny cause sony got owned by samsung seeing that they already have large tv's out with the LED technology

  • look wat year this was posted

  • The samsung led tv's arent actually OLED, they are still lcd but have normal led's producing the backlight. On thier top end model it will do localized dimming to give better contrast ratios though. An OLED screen will actually use the OLED's to create the colour image. Sony have been doing what samsung are doing now for quite a while but because they are not true OLED they have not named them so.

  • sony def. gets the tech from alien treaties. they are the technology masters. I know this is nothing compared to what they real keep sacred.

  • they haven't, retard...

  • Comment removed

  • i wanna shirt with an o-led screen on the back.i would play cloclwork orange everywhere i go =)

  • 0:15 min WHY! they show some casino stuff, Now I need my self some online poker. damn

  • weve reached the future

  • were still waiting for jet packs

  • don't forgot automatic ass scratcher, who doesn't want an automatic ass scratcher :D

and foldable houses, move everything with you :D

  • lmfao!

  • OR better yet... a jet pack with on board automatic ass scratcher and pouch to hold foldable house

    That's what I want!

  • id like to see my gf with a mute button installed..

id be ready to call that point the future..and heaven..

  • sony 4 life!

  • Affordability is a question of manufacturing, once the methods to manufacture the screens become reliable and efficient the product will become cheaper. When LCD screen were first manufactured I think the percentage of screens denied were around 60% or more. It is a delicate process.

  • when this is going to become cheap?

  • Affordability is a question of manufacturing, once the methods to manufacture the screens become reliable and efficient the product will become cheaper. When LCD screen were first manufactured I think the percentage of screens denied were around 60% or more. It is a delicate process.

  • so i guess it will be 10 years ?

  • Maybe 5.

  • it's organic, you could probably still wash it!!

  • the flexible ones are enclosed in plastic, so it would more than likely still be water prove.

  • Should I put it into the fridge, that the organic parts don't decay?

  • lol,who want to carry a screen on their chest ,still how would you control it unless it was touch screen..worst how would you power it up u would have to carry a battery in your backpack or something...

  • probly the same questions people asked when computers were the size of a large room.

the idea of the laptop im talking to u on would seem silly, useless and just laughable at the time.

give it 20years n all ur questions will be answered. if u build it, they will come.

  • why am i not in Japan???!!!!!!!

  • @csll15 because you ain't japanese, i think, don't really know u

  • @csll15 No im not japanese, but i love Japan so i must be there xD

  • @csll15

    After 2 years....

    YOU NOW KNOW

  • @csll15 Are you in Japan yet ?

  • OLED is future :)

  • Did he just say CLOTHES?

  • 2009 lg will release the oled scren with 15zoll bit sorry for bad englisch

  • I actually did a project about this with a schoolmate, it was for physics.

I went to the research-center of Philips based in Eindhoven, Netherlands.

It was pretty cool to see them working on it

  • it has like 10 times the pixls

  • five years away from products like this!

  • perhaps 50 years from now, we'll be laughing at this video. Just like now when we watch old james bond movie

  • I remember I saw the first plasma TV it was $15,000 and guess what it was a piece of shit compare to the 52" 1080P TV that I have with 1/10th the price.

every new tech is expensive at first, they will improve and get cheaper and cheper

remember DVD writers? $1000 first, and now? $40 with much higher speed

  • wow, imagine when we can get to actual clothes to work like a computer screen,

  • Always find the videos from DigInfo interesting... but it's somehow so... drop-dead boring.

if they could just fix that aspect it'd kick ass.

  • that's ugly...

  • ¡Qué guay! ¡¡No puedo esperar de verlo en persona!! Ojala que se popularizen rápidamente.

  • It's Ok, DjStiv3. You just assumed the display needed a backlight. Yes, 3mm is just the emissive material. With a backing and all, they'll likely be no less than 1cm installed. Remember "Back to the Future 2" ? Think "The Window Blind Channel" showing on the inside of a window blind for real :P

  • if you don;t know notthing about OLED technology plis stop writing shit like that..

f.e. samsung show at FPD International 2008 0.05 mm 4" OLED display ;)

  • LMAO!! Yes, listen to IISonicII. Plasma and LCD TV's can be as thin as 3cd, but an OLED display is --3 millimiteres--.

  • its 3mm dumb ass

  • who the hell asked yu shut up/...

  • 3mm = 3 millimiteres

    dumb ass

  • i love comin on youtube and readin comments like yours where people jus talk outta there asses

  • yeah organic screens been our for quite a few years now.

  • they should start putting them in pmp's like ipod touch and archos players! :p

  • Companies don't sell products based on the cost of production, if they would everything would probably be cheap as dirt. They charge for the actual technology, the for producing the technology which probably has taken years, and years of employee cost=alot of money, everyone needs thier earnings. Its not like 1 guy came up with this over night..

  • yeah

  • this is really great

I love Sony but I believe this OLED TV are very expensive so nothing for normal peaple at least in the first times

  • umm...Actually I saw OLED TV in store....and saw some people bought it...

  • you know what they say....little screen, little dick.....

  • I've seen moving images on clothes already. Not images but it lights up.

  • SONY YOU SON OF A BITCH

  • ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lololol

  • I still hold a lot of hatred towards sony for killing off lik-sang, but this may be the only welcome exception I'll have to buying their product again.

  • I loved Lik-Sang...

  • But its 2008 now!

  • B/W CRT Color CRT to LCD/TFT to 1-3mm OLED screens, to <1mm wallpaper covering the walls of your house. ;)

Guys we're nearly there, just 10 years to go. Then you can throw out your monitors/tv's + ceiling light bulbs. (also your car windscreen will have this)

  • mhhhhh...

    lovely oled windscreen....

  • Universal Display Technology. Give credit where dredit's due.

  • damn! that sick

  • I can wait to see this on the next psp

  • jesus fucking christ...clothes that display images. i fucking love this world.

  • imagine the masks you could make, some truly shitscary stuff haha

  • i had the same idea all the time but a full sute in witch you can display images also display images witch flys in the air tridimentionally and make scary faces or like a mask for halloween like the face of david jones but a example of the real movie displayed into a special mask i cant stop imagine so manything you can do

  • did he say clothes?

imagine the military application...constant changing camouflage, would be damn close to invisible.

  • military applications suck

i'm bored to see science applied to military

  • Sony is marketing an 11" display for about $2,500.

  • Imagine a roll that you hang on the wall, once you roll it down you now have a 37' inch widescreen tv. All the hardware and inputs will be on the "roll" Now imagine that but 10' inches and you will have a digital papyrus.

  • Invented by Kodak many years ago.

  • That's right, and anyone using OLED technology must pay a license.

However, Kodak isn't using the technology in the manner that their licensees are developing products to use them for.

  • amazing. so when can we expect to see that technology used for laptop screens?

  • They have already developed a 23" display, but it's not yet in mass production. The 11" display will be available to consumers in Japan before the end of 2007.

  • that's frickin awesome!

  • sony ownz

  • always thinking ahead of their time

  • i am sooooooooooooooo getting one of this when they come out

  • Don't.The OLED screens break down after a short time, being organic.

  • That's what they're working on, increasing the life of the display.

  • lol accent.
