''SAVING MY PRIVATES" (2011 - tom hanks)

a MUST see video. you need a good stomach - added yesterday

  • That's awesome! I Subscribed!

  • WTF the flamethrower kill german AND american,he is a psycho

  • @drouinfrank2 i say u should watch the whole movie casue its awsome but an american is wrestleing with the german flamethrowerer and he grabs it and burns some of the other germans.

  • gay music

  • My history teacher showed us this in my 4 period history class T_T It's so sad and shows just how horrible trench warfare was. I love this moive! Forget all you that say otherwise! XP

  • i justy brought myself to watch the ending, the americans got so cocky i was actualy rooting for the flamethrowers.

they had trouble makeing the ending seem dramatic because they where already using a cheche every five muinits so they just cramed about 5 cleches into a 30 sec conversation between the lawyer and the commander.

i would rather rim a badger than watch that again

  • i Worst film iv ever seen, I turned it off when the German was interrogating the Texan and the Texan was churning out some dismal cocky American bull shite.

If you want to watch some Jews running around a forest as being as historically inaccurate as possible then this is the film for you.

  • There are a lot of dumb comments on here, but this is a great montage. I love this movie and haven't seen it in so long!

  • Good job. 5/5

  • omg great video. i love that song and the lost battalion is like my fav movie! :D i just lost my dvd of it and im in like super distress D:

  • where did you get the song at?

  • Sorry If I sounded mean, but read the credits you idiot

  • no i mean where di dyou download it at?

  • Dont put a preposition at the end of the sentence.

no i mean where di dyou download it.

    your good. no at.

  • WOW awsome work!!! I have seen the movie and this should have been the movie trailer.

  • Thanks!

  • Really good work! 5/5

  • what movie is this???

  • it says in the title

  • great great video just not that great pic quality

  • WWI saw some amazing things. In an ocean of chaos sometimes hero's would appear. Tragedy was everywhere. The first swiss watches were worn. They are priceless today. A lonely soldier who looks pathetic is wearing on his wrist a timeless masterpiece. I've always found that to be ironic. The day the first tank rolled into battle is a moment that will live forever. Things like aircraft flying gave the people hope. It was the end of romantic war and the birth of the modern world.

  • Well, it's a okay movie, but the battle in the forrest is rather unrealistic. The germans are retarded and wouldn't hit a barnwall if they were in it. The colt .45 and bayonet charge... come on...

  • they had the colt .45 in WW1 if thats wat ur asking, thats why it was called and still is the M1911 it was created in 1911. and men really did go screaming over the trenches in ww1 shooting at whatever moved and stabbing and praying for their life. all of this WW2 crap going now has given all of the credit to WW2. U.S troops involved in WW1 cleanup actually were equipped with B.A.R's. in late 1918

  • well looks may be deceving

  • give some credit to the American troops in WW1 as far as trench charges go, they got they're nickname "devil dogs" from there.

unlike the british at the opening stages of the war... pretty much just held hands and walked across no-mans land... not saying they didn't get better but, just wow...

  • xeal that was because of the generals, after the artillery barages they would tell the troops that the enemy were all dead and they didnt need to run. also why are you insulting the brits, many more died then the americans who only join in 1917..

  • never seen that movie but now i want to

  • Oh god...your guy's comments are killing my video slowly...Comment on the video please? instead of trying to prove each other wrong.. :O

  • Haha, you guys make me laugh. Read a book. The movie itself explains how the americans used different tactics and refused to retreat or surrender when "they were supposed to" which is why the french forces on both sides of the american battalion fell back allowing the US forces to be surrounded although they were the only ones to capture their goal in that mission. i am pretty sure 600 americans went in and 200 came out.For a country that still shits on us in a war we weren't meant to fight.

  • ok, for all you guys cussing each other out and stuff, its total crap, the guy did a great job making this video and you are gonna ruin it by cussing each other out, that makes sense. oh and i dont know who said it, but the Americans played a huge part in both Wars, Hitler would still be killing Jews right now if it weren't for us and old age, even though he has nothing to do with this movie or WW!, and this forest was also known as belleau wood, and they are american marines, not brits

  • belleau was a totally different battle this, was part of the meuse-argonne offensive. And to everyone else this isn't a movie about America being the best country, it's about a group of brave men. It is an accurate depiction of the events that took place and besides it does show how good our people are that many germens could take out a single determined battalion of poorly trained troops. so back off we don't make fun of movies about French or british war heros.

  • hahaha, i like it at 2.36, in kusic it is " frozen inside " but in the movie they get burned to death . XD

  • I got this movie on dvd

  • nice vid i love the movie :p

  • Why were they lost in the ardnees forest?

  • the germans were really friendly in world war 1

  • Look up the Christmas truce

  • firstly there brits and second is this world war 2 or world war 1?

  • Wrong on both parts

  • how am i wrong?

  • The movie is about an American Battalion, and it is set in WW1 not two.

  • i was asking if it was ww2 or ww1 i didnt know and there brits!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • THEY ARE AMERICANS! Dude, seriously, go look it up.

  • hm, *nice*. another silly allied propaganda movie, where the germans are only coward idiots shouting around and the brave brits fight like lions. history is written by the winners, I guess.

  • they are not brits!!!they are americans!

  • OKAY - americans then. but it makes no sense -allied propaganda means allied propaganda - no matter if british or americans. hollywood creates sperheroes like here, which is sometimes ridicilous.

  • well...um

    the germans lost both wars...

im SURE a movie about them winning would be a hit in the box office

especially one that made the nazis look like kittens who were doing the world a favor

    rite

u can have that movie, as for me, id rather jsut watch this movie discounting the near true account of a battalion who was lost all by themselves in the argonne forest

  • If you watch it, they dont portray the germans bad at all. The German commander actually tries to suade the americans to surrender offering food and shelter. If it shows anyone as bad, it is us americans for not fighting within European standards of admitting defeat.

  • hey asshole unless you forgot, we are americans. we dont have to fight according to european standards of fighting. by the way americans never give up so it was good thing those soldiers did not give up because it helped win the war. so shut the fuck up you liberal traitor communist bastard

  • Ok, first off, I am not libeal, I am a conservative republican, and second off, I am not a traitor, I am in the US Marine Corps PLC aviation program to fly a strike aircraft. I am also a history major and can tell you that the only thing we really did to win ww1 was boost morale. Im not saying our boys fought bravely, they were ferocious, not to mention this was the war in which the US Marines gained the title Teufelshunde, german for "devil dogs". Just think before you call someone a traitor.

  • also, chucknorrisjokes, read my previous comments as well.

  • I don't understand how it might possibly portray the American Marines as bad for not retreating?

  • not so much as bad, but we fought with tactics that were unheard of my european standards. Charging when we were outnumbered, sending the battalion into the forest by itself allowing it to be cut off. Not surrendering. We were seen as very unpredictable in a time where war was changing drastically. So we were just different. The movie is very tasteful towards both sides of the conflict, shows american bravery and doesnt portray the enemy as random bloodthirsty idiots

  • I say being unpredictable makes us better. Sadly, i still need to see the movie...

  • Its a very good movie. And very tasteful towards both sides. I highly recommend it

  • so do i

  • That is not exactly true. All armies in WW1 used the same tactics of suicidal bayonet charges into heavily defended positions, & many British & French units fought on after being cut off, [study the Somme for Brit examples]. The US 'doughboys' arriving in 1917 felt themselves somewhat latecomers & wanted to prove their bravery. Also, as they had not been there for three years its likely they did not appreciate the impossibility of smashing through the "defence in depth" line. Very brave men

  • Cool good job

  • bad song, good movie

  • This is a great movie. But this music you added sucks. A director your not.

  • coctail i dunno what your talking about...fantastic video ShuKnight

  • Thanks ShuKnight brilliant vid.

  • This movie looks sick

  • It's a good movie

  • you should of choose a better song to play maybe a song of that time like an opera not this, this is wrong to wrong its sick

  • Excellent movie!!!! this video doesn't do it the justice it deserve's!!

  • i don't like the movie they put for this youtube video/

  • Fuck you lilskates3, its an awesome. just cuz u dont like the song or the video doesnt mean u have to be such an ASS

  • You gotta give props to the Germans. I mean in the Central Powers there was Turkey, Austria, and Germany. In the Allies there was France, England, Russia, US, Italy, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia. And the Germans helped in the Alps against Italy, was practically alone on the Western Front and helped in the Eastern Front. wow

  • if your gonna throw new zealand, austria and france in there......there were alot more small countries with the axis...i mean...france doesnt count for shit when it comes to war. you know what they say "the french national Flag is a White flag"

  • YOU ARE WRONG! THAT IS NOT THE FRANCE I KNOW!

...Its a white cross on a white backround :)

  • haha.

I watched this in my historty class

    the last few days.

    I really like it.

    Its all real.

    everything that happens.

  • yea the flamethrower was later in WWII lol.

i've never seen this movie. i'm gonna go see it.

  • well this is based on a true event, so it is possible they had flamethrowers..after all..they wouldn't change the actual event that much..

  • yes they had flamethrowers in ww1 there's even a poem and soldiers picture that shows one, they used em against pillboxes an bunkers

  • uh.... the flame thrower was used in battle in 1917 einstein.

  • flame throwers were definatly in WW1, in fact my great grandpa got his arm burned by one = )

  • Is this a real film, I love war films, Ive never seen this.

  • WE ARE LIKE SPARTANS WE NEVER GIV up . we fol teh enemy thinking that we are lsot but we are nvever lost in our fights

  • ummm...re check your history buddy....america has surrenderd many times...Viet Nam? we didnt win that one

  • america didn't surrender during vietnam. we pulled out.

  • ok but I always go big lol when Nazi Germans are slowely killed GO AMERICA WHIPE THOSE MOTHERFUCKERS OUT

  • Are you retarded? That is worldwar 1 not two! Ps: You werent instrumental in winning ww1 or ww2! Ignorant motherfucker!

  • didnt they have flam througher in ww1 or was it ww2?

  • They got it in ww1

  • I wished All the germans were destroyed till the last baby

  • lol xD

  • only nazi germans though

  • then who would we fight

  • umm...soo..you wanna destroy the germans cuz the wanted to destroy the jews? dont you sence a little irony in that?

  • no lol

  • nice job, love the modern 21st century song with a 1900's clip.

  • Never did like this song. Yet it went real good with this vid. Great job.

  • any1 kno where i could get this on dvd

  • Look on A&E's website.

  • lmao

  • Lmfao......

    Evanesscense

  • kerwick80

"Nice video, i hate that facking flamewerper from that facking Germaans "

You can't spell.... it's not "flamewerper", it's "Flammenwerfer". ;) And that shows that the Axis were far advanced than the Allies.

  • Shhhh lets just call it the..hmm...the FLAMETHROWER

  • And they still were defeated. By the way, at this time in history, they were the Central powers, not axis.

  • This ruled, well done upon making it! 5/5!

  • anyone know what song is it"?

  • Read the credits

  • Nice I want to get the dvd

  • I have long thought that this deserves a good, old fashioned, big screen epic, something which has not happened since 1920. Your music video was better than the movie.

  • Nice video, i hate that facking flamewerper from that facking Germaans

  • Sorry ShuKnight, You can delete them if you want, I dont mind.

  • okk

  • Hey Hey Hey jesterx18 and Toosis cut it out or imma delete all of ur comments aite

  • Yes I called myself a dumbass. Im fucking stupid. I've seen both rifles in person now (Right after my first post) so now i know.

But jesterx fuck you! How did they get mg-42's for Saving Private Ryan?! You can make fake ones for movies. Anyway go learn something like me and figure shit out on your own.

  • Those rifles were Enfields captain dumbass. It has the shielded rear sight and the ruger style bolt. Look them up. The American Enfileds were used because were were already making the SMLE for the Brits so we used the same style action on a different platfrom.

  • There is not one enfield in that movie they are all 03 springfields.

and then someone gona tell me im wrong so u sound smater than me but i know im right.

  • i got into war movies when my uncles rented and watched saving private ryan and i was with them

  • what wis the lost battalion?

  • the lost battalion was an army battalion lost in the argon forest during the first world war

  • I don't really care for this song but you made it flow very well with this video.

  • Toosis dumbass its not they make the original springfield anymore how could they possibly use it

  • The other comments after yours are correct the 1917 was the most common rifle. It differs from the Springfeild by a prominate sheilded rear sight over the reciever and one of the ugliest bent bolts I' ever seen. And you can still buy springfeilds from the civilian marksmanship program.

  • I really like this film. It was sad. I get the excite watching war films.

  • I don't like that band at all, but you still made this into an AWESOME fucking video. I love the movie and to see this video chills went down my spine. I can't stress enough how much I loved it.

  • Why thank you XD

  • I dont think people realize how devestating WWI was. Nobody has done much of anything about it.

BTW they used the wrong type of M1903 in that movie. Those are the A3 versions used after the war.

  • Yeah, the trench war was a pretty messy bit of a thing.

  • The Forgotten War. Korea and WWI are really forgotten amongst our population for some reason. It's overshadowed by WWII and the tragedy that was Vietnam.

  • Well, my grandpa was in the Viet War cuz we're Viet. He was a liutenant Colonel and its really messy..I mean they would lay out traps and crap.

  • no they didn't they were using M1917 Enfields which were actually more prominently used by the United States during WW1 than the Springfield was.

  • No they didn't! Those were 1917 Enfields which were issued on quite a larger scale to the United States infantry during WW1 than the Springfield. So those rifles were perfectly accurate for that film.

    Good vid, btw.

  • nice
