amazing concept, my first thought was "what use is this?" then your first idea "legend of zelda type button" and I was hooked, well done and subscribed for that.
Isn't it also possible to put a pressure plate on the top of a fence, so that when the player walks into the side of the fence, the pressure plate is activated? (this works now because the fence hitbox was fixed)
I really like the bloom effect an don't think it's distracting at all. People always whine about change. You're doing something different. That's good. Don't start to be generic, please.
Gah! Conflicting opinions XD (you compared to others). I like the idea of a white world to give focus to the subject matter so I'm conflicted on what to do. I'll try to find some happy median between mutiny and mediocrity.
@evilmarc Yes i agree. The bloom effect COULD be distracting but the texture pack you are using has very sark, earthy colors which contrast the bloom well
Before posting things I've come up with in my head I do my best to try to search in case someone has done it before the same way to avoid reposting an old idea. I have no idea what you're talking about when you say this has been done before, and I'd love to see a link to what you're talking about. If you doubt my ability to come up with creative inventions just check out my past year of videos and rethink your accusation.
Maybe I need a fancy intro and a giant subscribe button at the end of my video? Yoho, there's certainly psychology involved and the power of suggestion. You practically have to market yourself, in a Youtube world flooded with Minecraft videos one can't get by on just content alone. Also, people are less impressed by small Minecraft inventions, even if the simplest ones can be the most practical.
@CyberGlitch You're right. I find these little things just as impressive as the people building the Taj Mahal or things like that. Anyone can massive things that work, but it takes real skill to build tiny things that work.
I was trying to recreate the loading room from the Matrix, and though a completely white room is really cool in the movie, apparently it's generally distracting for viewers of this video, which is the exact opposite of what I was aiming for. Rest assured, I'll take your guys input and remove the bloom effect (and also use default textures) for future tutorials.
That works, but the fence won't transmit a signal, so the redstone has to be adjacent to the pad. The only way to hide the redstone really, is to have the plate activate a piston which moves a block over a torch or something, but then the piston is still visible. This boat based method allows any wall material to be used.

Not only is this an old as fuck invention but the lighting is fucking RETARDED.
Either think of your own shit or stop making minecraft videos you fucking faggot.
Here come the part where everyone thumbs me down.
But before you people do remember that this isn't his invention as he says.
There are much better commentators then this faggot.
Fuck you, and stop advertising on reddit.
No one wants to see that shit.
