I'll be very surprised if Gibson stays in the United States. It's tough to make a profit when technically, you can't ship a guitar because you've been threatened with Obstruction of Justice violations if you do. (Over something that....you haven't been charged with.)
Only in America would you see a law that mandates every law on Planet Earth be enforced by our own Justice Department. It's funny in light of how much confusion there is with our OWN laws....
Just like somebody else has already said, the only thing Gibson is guilty of is letting their Quality go down in the last number of years. I own a beautiful Gibson LP Traditional but it took a slightly warped neck on the First on to get that great Second one. The First one should have NEVER left the production floor. Come on Gibson let's step it up a notch and get some of that PRS pride.
Where is all the support from big name bands like Toni Iommi ,Pete Townshend,Eric Clapton,Jimmy Page,just to name a few ,all these guy`s have used gibsons at one time or another and are responsible for me playing a GIBSON SG(REALLY IT IS A LES PAUL 1961 )And it is a real one !!!!!!!
@1mrslapzilla Iommi's original sg was a ghostbuilt guitar. meaning a independent luthier built it with higher of average quality and got rid of the little flaws that gibson ignored... shit the les paul and sg have so many flaws. its a wonder why they havent did a major redesign in i dont know, 60 or soo years
@UFCfanboy7898 your right about the iommi guitars,but i disagree with you on the flaw thing i have a 61 les paul(sg) and it plays like a dream,and it is a real one not a reisue.

It has rich history being an American product and top of the line , the BENCHMARK if you will. Since new regulations for trade and obtaining the materials to build and manufacture these amazing instruments is so full of red tape it may be a indicator where the system is failed and failing hard as we speak.
