  • That water is all steamy... that doesn't look like cool water to me.

  • @wenbychazdean why cant i order off your american website? some of us in the uk/europe would like to be able to try your products as the guthy site only has one type and its not for dry hair i want to buy fig.....

  • hi, I have natural thick African American hair but i got a Dominican blow out a few months ago and now it's severely damaged with split ends and my waves barely show anymore. Would wen still work for me and would it help to repair the damage? I'm very interested in this product so please let me know. Also, is this a good product to mix with other products? I usually use kinky curly in my hair would this have any effect on the product's purpose?

  • Hi. My wife uses this product and has an allergic reaction to it. Her asthma acts up, her nose gets really stopped up, and she is having sinus type symptoms. I think it would be in the best interest of the company to come out with a hypoallergenic type product for those who have sensetivities

  • This is like hair porn :)

  • did he say shave cream??? why would i want any type of shave cream in my hair? someone shed some light on this please.

  • @SmilesMalone It's a cleansing conditioner designed for the hair that can also be used in place of shaving cream. It's not a shaving cream.

  • @wenbychazdean I see, I see. So it is completely unrelated to a shave cream, in terms of ingredients....but because it is made with safe stuff, you can use it as a shave cream? Like someone would use baking soda as a toothpaste. It's not a toothpaste per say....but you can use it as such. Makes sense now. Thanks for the reply! :)

  • Where can i order this product?

  • @beautysham You can order this product directly from us, through QVC or from our infomercial hosted by Guthy Renker.

  • @wenbychazdean thanks! i think i am going to get it directly from your chazdean.com website...My friend gave me a sample and i fell in love with out healthy my hair felt afterwards so i just had to get my own...its expensive but worth the buy! thanks for replying back

  • @wenbychazdean I have dreads and I am interested in this product. However I feel that the detangling comb is a huge part of your cleansing process and this may pose a problem for someone with my hairstyle. Do you agree?

  • The mark of a really excellent product is compatability with and effectiveness on ALL skin/hair types. There are slight variations between the various ethnic groups of the world, but in the long run they're only subtle, we're all made of the same elemental blood/bone/flesh/keratin! This is why WEN cleansing conditioner, Eve Lom /Yon Ka facial cleansers and Paula's Choice moisturisers/sunscreens are the ULTIMATE products for the human race! IMO! :)

  • i wonder how this would work for dreadlocks..

  • SOME HAVE CURLY COURSE DRY HAIR, AND SOME HAVE NATURALLY STRAIGHT HAIR , SOME HAVE CURLY STRAIGHT , SOME HAVE THE KNID YOU CAN'T STRAIGHTEN , I'M NOT OFFENDED , I JUST HATE WHEN ONE BLACK PERSON THINKS ALL BLACK PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME KIND OF HAIR THEY DO AND THEY DON'T , THANK GOD !

  • @PEB979 I am a black female and I completely agree with you. We all have different types of hair and we all have different ways of taking care of it. It's just another thing we have to do to maintain our natural beauty ;)

  • I've got 6 months of new growth, out growing from a relaxer. At this time I plan on taking your advice no more flat or curling irons.. I do own a good blowdryer w/nozzle attachment & round boar bristle brushes of different sizes; but I'm sure I won't be able to get my hair to look like your AA WEN models on QVC. My ultimate goal is to be able to visit your salon in L.A. to have my hair blown out & styled by you Chaz. If not I'm sure one of your trained staff could work wonders on my hair:-)

  • @LuvitHeart We would love for you to visit us at the salon! We will have the instructional video showing how to style ethnic, coarse, curly hair into a straight style using only a blow-dryer and a round brush soon. I hope this helps!

  • @LuvitHeart Greetings I would like to know if it is o.k. to use the TT oil 1-2 times a week or when ever needed on my scalp without cleansing the next morning. Will it clog my pores or cause a build-up. I had extremely dry scalp with patches of flakes. All gone with one treatment of TT cleansing at the scalp & Fig on the shaft. Since my 1st session of WEN; I'm almost afraid to say NO MORE DRY SCALP. Thank You Chaz you're a GOD send. Got my scalp under control. Now lets work on the length

  • I have an A-line Bob 14" in the crown & 5" at the nape of the neck. I think I should do a 2 part cleansing. How may pumps do you recommend. I ordered TVS to have access to all your formula's & Tea Tree 3-piece, Replenishing TM, Fig 4-pc Ultimate Col., Re-Moist Hydrating HM, & Tea Tree 32oz. Any products I could recieve on A-D plan was a no brainer. I'm a Newbie WEN girl. I have'nt recieved all of my products yet; but I have confidence that they will work for me. I am going all natural..

  • @LuvitHeart For your hair length and texture you want to be sure to use a minimum of about 14 pumps per cleanse. This means you would cleanse your hair, rinse it and repeat, bringing you to a total of about 28 pumps! I hope this helps.

  • The number of pumps I recommended is for use with the 6oz and 16oz sized bottles. For the 32oz bottle use 7 pumps per cleansing. I hope this helps!

  • Why would they use a model with BARELY ANY HAIR?!?

what about those of us WITH hair?!?

  • I have just recieved my wen yesterday, but my onmly question is..how long after, putting the leave-in conditioner, should i blow dry my hair. Also i dont hair a blow dryer wit a nozzle but i have a round brush, will that be okay?

  • @najiea If your blow dryer does not have a nozzle you risk damaging and burning your hair. You can start blow drying your hair immediately after you've applied your leave-in conditioner if you'd like.

  • I'm a black female with relaxed, shoulder length hair. I've used Wen twice...each time my hair has been hard, stiff and full of residue. It's that yucky feeling that comes from over-conditioning. Each time I've had to shampoo my hair for it to feel normal. I've saturated my hair for 2-3 minutes prior to Wen and I've made sure to use plenty of product. Is it possible to use too much product? It's the only explanation I can come up with. I'm ready to go back to my shampoo & conditioner.

  • @flockmolly Hello there! If I may ask, how many pumps have you been using to cleanse your hair? Also, what size bottle do you have of the cleansing conditioner? I hope to hear from you soon so that I can help you get better results!

  • @wenbychazdean Hi, I started with the initial 32-40 pumps for my entire head. I then added more because there was barely any when I ran the comb thru. By the time I finished I'm guessing I had approx. 60 pumps. I use the 16oz Tea Tree which I chose because I have psoriasis but am considering Fig because I have very dry hair. Which do you recommend? Try #4 I used exactly 32 pumps no more, no less with much better results. I'm about to do so again hoping to improve upon Tuesday's luck. Any tips?

  • @flockmolly If you are getting good results with 32 pumps, I would suggest to continue using that amount. However, a great tip is to split the amount you are using in half, and cleanse twice in a row instead of just once. This insures a THOROUGH cleanse and you won't have to put so much of the product on your hair at once. Make sure you're rinsing very, very well before you get out of the shower! You can also use the Tea Tree on your scalp and the Fig on your ends to benefit from both.

  • @wenbychazdean Thanks, I'll give it a try.

  • @wenbychazdean I just purchased the wen hair care system. what i want to know is, is the tea tree or fig better for more ethnic hair?

  • @flockmolly I just got mine today from QVC and I will be letting my hairdresser apply this to my hair, because I go every two weeks. I too have long healthy hair and thought this would maybe make it even better. We'll see.

  • I love this products especially the Tea Tree. I brought many sets from QVC.

  • This product is SUPER AMAZING!!!! I can't say enough about this product. I saved my hair from PROTIEN OVERLOAD. I just wish the girl in this how-to video had longer hair. I had to figure out how to cleanse on my own because my hair is a lot longer. But if any black ladies are on the fence... TRY IT!!!! You'll be happy you did

  • Hi Chaz, I'm an AA woman and I've been using your product for about 2 years. Can you please show a "how to video" on Alisha and Tiatiania's hair. I am really interested in Alisha's hair because her hair look like a roller set. I like the way my shoulder lengh hair feel after I apply your product. I usually blow dry and flat iron afterwards because I can't achieve the results like the AA models on QVC.

  • HI Chaz,

I have been wanting to try your product for a few months now. I see you on QVC all the time, but I really looked at your product in depth this past Christmas (which I loved), and did some research to see how other women of color liked your product. I'm sold, but I need your help. I have ethnic hair, that is curly/wavy, frizzy, and dry. To add to it, it holds water like a sponge and I have a serious dandruff problem. Tea tree or fig? What do you suggest? Thank you.

  • Hi Chaz,

I absolutely love the Fig and there is a difference in the hair if you use as directed. I have the DVD but I still can not figure out how to recreate the QVC model with the long big curly hair (looks like a roller set) is styled with a blow dryer. I understand how to achieve a straight look, but I prefer the curly look. Thanks for creating this line and featuring African American models with different hair textures.

  • Hi,

Would this product work for men as well?

  • Hi Chaz

I'am african american and have damaged hair my hair grows and brokes I was told to try sweet almond mint will this help me with hair growth I brought the product and my hair does feel good.

  • Thank you so much for having an African American texture that represents my own!

I have a question though... I just ordered your latest products (Sweet Almond Mint), which was advertised as good for all hair types. Will this particular one offer the same moisturizing benefits? I wish knew about the Fig Cleansing Conditioner instead...

  • Hello there! The Sweet Almond Mint will still be very beneficial for you. However, the Fig is more moisturizing, so you would benefit moreso from the Fig. I would suggest using the Sweet Almond Mint to start out with, and eventually if you notice you still need more hydration, try switching with the Fig!

  • @wenbychazdean

I tried the Sweet Almond Mint and I loved the tingling effect from the mint, and by the first wash my hair was clean. However, it doesn't provide enough moisture for my hair. And on the second application my hair was getting a little hard.

The product idea is a wonderful idea and I can see that the product is a very good product. If my hair were relaxed, it would be more beneficial to me, but I am a natural with 4b/4c type hair: like model's hair.

    I may try the Fig...

  • If I may ask, just how long is your hair? To your shoulders? Past your shoulders? And how many pumps were you using to cleanse with, and how many as a leave-in conditioner? Please let me know so that I may assist you!

  • My hair is 5 inches long. I don't remember how many pumps, but I do know it was more than 10: a lot more than what the model applies to her hair. I did not apply the cleanser as a leave in. I forgot to do that. I did apply the styling creme and I can see why it is important to apply the cleanser as a leave in before applying the styling creme.

With the cleansing alone there wasn't much "slip" (moisture) to allow me to comb through my hair for even distribution.

  • You were using 10 total pumps to cleanse your hair?

  • yes my have is very, very short so I use about 10 to 12 pumps I have been using the sweet almond mint for about two weeks. i would like to see it grow more.

  • When you say short do you mean, an inch or two long? Down to your chin? Down to your shoulders? Please let me know.

  • I would say about an inch or two long to ear level I had to cut os much off due hair being damaged. i have to wear a wig because I'am ashame to wear my hair out

  • In that case you should be using a minimum of about 16-20 pumps total. We usually suggest for very short hair to use at least 16 pumps, otherwise your hair won't get a thorough cleanse! I would also suggest to use the Tea Tree Bath, Body & Hair Oil as an overnight treatment on your scalp to help promote healthy hair growth. It is amazing and will be stimulating and invigorating for your scalp!

  • one more question so I'm I using the right cleanser for my hair then the sweet almond mint. I'm doing the auto shipment and will be adding the tea tree to my new order. Thanks so much.

  • You can continue to use the Sweet Almond Mint but I would also suggest to give the Fig a try. It is the most moisturizing and will help give your hair the hydration it definitely needs!

  • Fig cleansing conditioners help moisturize hair?

    It gets rid of frizz?

    For me, lots of frizz?

and can you use it as often?

because I went on your websight and it said that the sweet almond mist can be used as often as possible but it didnt say that for the other 4 ones.

  • Hello there!

Yes, the Fig is the most moisturizing formulation so it will help to tame frizz. Usually frizz is just dehydrated hair, so with the hydration the Fig provides it will help get your hair healthy and less frizzy! Because our products are healthy and have no stripping agents, detergents or harsh chemicals, you can use them as often as you want! The more you cleanse your hair, the healthier it will be!

  • Hi Chaz,

I have seen your informercials and wanted to try your product. Well my mom saw you on QVC and ordered it for me! I'm so happy to start using it. My question is I currently have a relaxer in my hair and want to grow it out. I am going to follow your instructions and not use any heat on it but am unsure as to what sort of blow dryer to use. Is there a particular brand that you use as well as the round brush you recommend?

  • Hello there!

Here at the salon we use Super Solanos. They are a brand of blow-dryer that we have found to work amazingly over the years! As for a brush, we just use boar bristle brushes. Make sure they aren't made of metal at all! I am glad you have decided to try the products. I hope it works wonderfully for you!

  • omg i love this product. I dont think i will ever go back to shampoo again. I've used it twice now and my hair feels soo soft. I can finally air dry my hair. Do you guys sell the FIG in deep conditioner?

  • Hello there! We do sell the Fig in the Re-Moist Hydrating Treatment. It is an ultra-moisturizing, intensive hair treatment that will give your hair the nourishment and hydration that it needs to stay soft, healthy and manageable. You can also sleep with your Fig Cleansing Conditioner overnight as a treatment as well!

  • Hi Chaz,

I watched your presentation on QVC when you showed the chemically relaxed hair of a model and said it has not been relaxed in 8 months but the model's hair was straightened.

My question is can I get relatively straight hair by using the 4 piece complete hair collection and a flat iron if my hair is similar in texture to the model in this video?

Based on the QVC presentation I got that impression.

  • Hello Trish! We never suggest for people to use hot irons of any sort. Anything you can't touch to your skin, you should NEVER touch to your hair. The progressional model on QVC that you saw is named Katia and she has not had a relaxer in 8 months. The reason she can get her hair so straight is because it is getting much healthier with our product line and she isn't using any hot tools to damage it. All she uses is a blow-dryer with a nozzle and a round brush, which you can do too!

  • I'm going to try this! Thanks :)

  • chaz,i have a afro that is almost 2 inches long. How many pumps of your product do you suggest i use? And thanks for making this product you are a genius.

  • Hello there! Since your hair type can use as MUCH moisture as it is given, I would suggest to use the same amount as Rheta in this video. This will help to keep your hair hydrated, which will prevent frizz and help to tame your hair. I hope this helps!

  • I'd love to try this again...I used the fig and my hair felt a bit dry? Maybe I didn't leave enough in, or perhaps I should try the sweet almond mint?

  • The FIG is the most moisturizing, so I am guessing maybe you didn't use enough as a leave-in or enough to cleanse with. Do you flat iron, curling iron, or do anything damaging to your hair like that? You have to keep in mind, using this system is a process, almost like going to the gym. The more you use it, the quicker you will see results. I hope you decide to try it again! Feel free to call with any questions for additional assistance.

  • Please please post how the AA models on QVC and within your website hair style is created , I have had natural hair for years and have been using WEN for years, never have I seemed to achieved that bouncy, loose, curly do'.

  • I am messaging you! I hope it helps.

  • Hum, the manipulation necessary to evenly distribute the products (raking, massaging, scrubbing) seem like they can cause breakage to textured or color treated hair. I'm not an expert, but that's my feeling. Especially when the hair is wet in a fragile state. I also think the motions can tangle the hair if not done in sections (unless the Wen cleanser has enough slip?). I like to wash my coily/curly hair in sections, scrubbing just the roots, then smoothing cleanser through the rest of the hair.

  • The consistency of the WEN product line is like a rich, creamy lotion. With the splash of water added to help evenly distribute, the product should be easily worked into the scalp while massaging. We have been using nothing but these products on our clients in our salon for the past 10 years, and have never experienced hair breakage from the massaging.

  • i have to try your line. Looks amazing!

  • Oh and I forgot to ask, is it ok to use on permed hair?

  • Yes! The products will help give your damaged hair the moisture and hydration that it needs to stay healthy and strong. Also, consider purchasing a larger size of your favorite cleansing conditioner! I have really thick, long hair, and I purchase the gallon of my favorite so that it lasts me almost an entire year. I hope this helps!

  • This product looks great and it has no suds! The only problem is that since my hair is really thick I'd probably end up using like half the bottle in one use.

  • i am afro american with natural hair zero chemicals have all wen flavors as well as oils.i use no heat except for a flat iron once every few months to clip my split ends. My hair is babyfine at my nape while the rest of it is thick and bushy curls are not as defined. my hair was long until i was eight and diagnosed with hand foot mouth disease(thats what it's really called) as a result my texture changed and it has never grown long.how can my curls become as defined as those at my nape and grow

  • I would suggest to use the Tea Tree Bath, Body & Hair Oil as an overnight scalp treatment. Tilt your head back, apply 4-5 full droppers directly to your scalp, and massage in. Sleep with this in and cleanse out the following morning. This will help to promote healthy hair growth! I hope this helps!

  • Chaz, thank you for this video. Would it be possible to show a video on how you style the AA models on QVC? Alishia has curly hair & Tatianna has straight hair. Alicia's hair looks like a roller set relaxer. How do you get that look without a relaxer or curling irons? I am growing out a relaxer since March 09 and want the roller set look. Can you share the process for both straight and curly for African American naturally curly hair? I use your tea tree, fig & TSV lavendar. Bless you!

  • Hello there! We will be coming out with an instructional DVD that will show you exactly how we style their hair. It will be very informational and helpful to everyone and every hair type! I hope this helps.

  • Thanks WEN! I love your products!

  • Chaz, thank for posting this video. Because it was very helpful which means I have been doing it right. I have been using Wen for about a year. Love it so much I cut my hair really short and I am starting all over with my. Thank again for this video. Because it is so fast on qvc.

  • THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS!!!!!

  • OoOoO I want this now! and the model is soo pretty
