@Galutron Next 2D movie won;t be Princess Related well of coursse the next one is Winnie the Pooh but what I mean is a movie called King of the Elves Christmas 2012 it was going to be a 3D project but after the succes of Princess and the Frog they said they're going back to traditional animation
Being 24, I grew up with a bunch of the original Princesses and well, it was coming home. He sure did have that part down pat. Add in the fact that during the movie there were characters dressed up from other Disney movies and small tributes to their other classics like Aladdin and Little Mermaid, well, I just adored this movie and already pre-ordered it.
I went to see this movie and it was fantastic especially when the male witch doctor (Dr. Facilier) start singing. This remarkable debut unveals true access in reality. Two thumbs up....three if I had them.
What do you mean "it's all about money"? EVERYBODY has to make money! Disney just happens to make incredible animated films (I'm referring to the classics) and because of that, deserve every penny (for the most part). Though they can be a bit of a bitch; they initially turned down Tim Burton's pitch for Nightmare Before Christmas, but when it became successful, they bought it. But hey - that's the biz; that's how things go in the film industry.
This movie is going to ROCK! I I saw a TV spot for it three times today and I was jumping around and screaming like a little girl. I am SO excited for this!!!!!
I think that Pixar is fantastic at 3D and Disney should leave 3d to them. Disney is known for 2d!
I remember when Disney was scratching its head going "why isn't 'Atlantis' and 'emperors new groove' doing well?" It was because of a lack of story & emotion. But they said it must be because its 2d animation.
The smugness in' Chicken Little is disgusting'. They assumed that just because it was 3D it would be as good as Pixar. WRONG.
ommmggg i am soo excited i grew up with all the disney princesses and now having them come back will be like being a kid again. even tho im 14 there's no way im missing this move :D
@gracesaysrawr I'm 14 as well and African- American and nearly passed out when I saw that the preview for this movie!!!! My best friend says, I look like her and now I were my hair in a bun with stray curls just like her!!! I'm obsessed!!!
Seriously, the last 20 seconds when they showed the old Disney princesses and movies and movies, and then they showed TPATF, I got chills. In just 4 weeks a new classic will be born.
As much as I love the Pixar films (and Bolt), I can honestly say that I'm really looking forward to the return of 2-D animation.
I'm a 21-year-old bloke, I love Disney and I don't care who knows. When the quality of their work started going downhill, I became very pessimistic sadly, but I've got this feeling that The Princess and the Frog is going to be the beginning of a better era.
The worst of the Eisner era is just a memory now... it's time to move forward.
OMG I am so excited!!!!!!!!! I'm so glad that Disney went back to hand drawn animation, just like Aladdin, Cinderella, and Snow White!! I CANT WAIT!!!!!
I'm excited because I miss the genuine artistry of the hand drawn animation. I hope it lives up to all the hype though. I mean, John Lasseter saying it's the return of classic Disney and it'll be "like coming home"...lets hope so.
i really did miss the hand drawn animation. im glad they are bringing it back. plus i can't wait for this movie 2 come out. it looks like a great movie for all ages.
It really feels like that since there has been so little hope for Disney thanks to the crap they've been releasing. With The Princess and the Frog, I feel like that hope has been restored, but just a bit, we need to see the film in order to know if that hope has come back.
A trailer and the behind the scenes previews brought back the Disney spark, but the film will judge that.
i'm so glad that disney is finally making another hand-drawn classic movie. there's been so many 3D movies and animation that it's getting old. it's been 5 years since they've produced a 2 dimentional movie that's gonna be on screen.
I started crying when they said, "it's going to be like coming home."
I seriously cannot be more excited that Disney is going back to what Walt wanted it to be, instead of all the new Hannah Montana and 3D junk of today. (sorry, fans!)
When I told a friend that Keith David voiced Dr.Facilier-he got really excited and told me that he can't wait to hear him to sing-and from what I've been seeing of his music number I can't either-it sounds so awesome!
Yes, there's only been brief clips of the songs in various promos but the villain song sounds like it will be great - I hope it and the movie will live up to my expectations!
I thank God for this return to hand drawn animation every day. I just know that this film is going to fit right in with the other greats. I can't wait!
I cannot explain how EXTREMELY THRILLED I am that Disney is returning to classic beautiful 2D animation! I've been so excited about this since I first heard about it a couple years ago...I am definitely going to see it at least twice in theaters!
Man, John Lasseter is really trying to sell this, isn't he?
On one side, I'm really excited with the prospect of the return of 2D animation, on the other I'm a bit wary they're putting all th eggs in a sole basket, I mean, what if it doesn't turn out the successful movie everybody wants it to be?

Thank you John Lasseter, for returning us to 2d animation. 3d is just starting to overwhelm us nowadays.

Next time they make a traditional Disney movie, they should have a princess and a guy who's not a prince.
Galutron 1 year ago 2
@Galutron they did that with Tangled, though that is not really traditional Disney animation ;)

I'm just so happy to know the animators agree with me! YAYA! 3D is nice and all but come on theres no reason to banish 2D cause of it. Gah!
We can have both! Anyways great vid.

I totally agree. But it's all about money. If this makes money for Disney they will do it again. Especially in this economy.
