@AAAZ2A the bug was that when he pressed the button it teleported him some where else you can noclip in turn no clip off and it will do the same thing but you will need noclip to get out of it

The elevator was originally supposed to lead to the next level, but the level where denied because it was too short. So the mapper built that level longer instead and closed the elevator. But when the game was released they forgot to remove the trigger_changelevel in the elevator, thus you can experience this glitch.

You can also see in the dead camera position that the marines are gone, that's because you skipped the trigger that makes them appear by using this shortcut ;)

@Met4Lz0r In cs, when a map is lacking an info_player_Start, it will just idle at the team choose screen. And since Half-Life doesn't have such a screen in single player mode, the camera will just be in dead position while you can't respawn :)

The marine sounds playing were just triggered as soon as the trigger_Changelevel in the elevator was triggered earlier.

It seems the elevator was supposed to lead you to a later level. I don't know which one, but it's the one where you go up the elevator in the previous level, and there is machinery of some type, chemical spills, and blue lights...

well, from my understanding, i can tell you this. if you press the triangle without noclip, like he said, your camera will be in a dead position. however, if you press it WITH noclip, the game will crash.

i tried it myself.

When I tried this out on Half -Life:Source it the console it said it could not load it from that map. But when I typed in ChangeLevel c3a1b It let me play the map "Not dead" and I had no wepons

I think, they left trigger_changelevel in that lift, but target map has changed during develepoment so, you get stucked in a wall. Betatesters do not noticed this because you can't get there without nocliping).
