i always really enjoyed the arrangements and dynamics of the Leslie Drayton Orchestra, live or on record...particularly fine was the phenomenal alto sax player, the late Curtis Peagler, whom i was fortunate enough to meet on a few occasions and also had the opportunity to hear him play live in small settings leading quartets and jam sessions around LA and South Pasadena during the late 1970s to 1980s era...he remains one of my favorite soloists of all time, and he is much missed...
