No. First, thermal imaging cameras capture the temperature. Whether its a sold, liquid, or gas has nothing to do with it. Take a liquid at 80F and a gas at 80F, and they'll look exactly the same.

Second, smoke is NOT black on a thermal camera. It's grey / white because its very hot.

With your logic, the whole room should be black because the air is made of gases. BUT ITS NOT.

FYI: Call of Duty does not equal real life. Most of the stuff in that game is shown completely wrong.

Methane's molar mass is 1.6g/mol.

The air we breathe is mainly composed of nitrogen, oxygen and carbon dioxide.

Nitrogen = ~14g/mol - Gas

Oxygen = 15.99...g/mol - Gas (Note - O is diatomic)

Carbon Dioxide = 44.01g/mol - Gas

Water = ~18g/mol

The air we breathe has very little CO2, less than 0.25%.

Methane IS lighter. Water IS heavier. Deal with it.

One problem with that. The guys arm (and hand) are white. So clearly white = hot in this case.

This was setup. The guy is holding something (an aerosol can of some sort) and discharging it. The spray itself is what is coming out cold. This is normal considering that depressurization causes a container (and whatever is in that container) to cool.
