  • I like Kelsey Grammer, but Philip Quast is just so much better

  • i LOVED this show

  • I saw the show on 11-11-10 and enjoyed it so much I went back again on 11-13, with friends in tow! It's delightful and full of tenderness and humor. A definite must-see. Douglas is just adorable - you can't help falling in love with him, and of course Kelsey is wonderful. I also got a real kick out of Todd Lattimore as Hanna on 11-13 - he just pops off the stage - so cute, and so very funny...

  • It is about time he got a chance to really sing, i love his voice for a very long time.

  • This is so bothering me! Are the clips from London of New York because the Cagelle to Albins right with orange(?) dress and dark brown/black hair looks like one from London you know the one that got a bit of a pissed of attitude? Am i imagening it or what?

  • @tomishii Do not worry. It was previews from B'way and they fixed that which is now is purple.

  • Was lucky enough to go to Broadway last week and see this production, which was amazing. I was lucky enough to see it several times in London before it went overseas and it has lost none of it's razzle dazzle. I have ordered the cast recording from Amazon (uk) which is released late September. If you've not seen this show then get yourself along before it's too late as you won't be disappointed.

  • 2011

  • Ahhhh I really wanna see this...does anyone know how long Hodge and Grammer are signed on this?

  • Tony winner Douglas Hodge has signed on for a six-month extension as Albin in the Broadway revival of La Cage aux Folles alongside Tony nominee Kelsey Grammer as Georges. The two actors will continue in their current roles (rather than switching parts, which had been rumored before opening night) until February 13, 2011, when both will depart the production.

  • I love Kelsey in this role, he is almost as good as the Australian Philip Quast

  • I saw this show with absolutely NO understudies!!! Douglas Hodge is the best Albin!!! And is the nicest person ever!! Kelsey was great as the male lead!! I loved his voice!!

  • I saw this on broadway last night. Douglass Hodge was phenominal, and Kelsey Grammer was...not present. His understudy was very good tho

  • @quinncy60 I couldn't stop laughing with Hodge!

  • I went to see this 'cause I LOVE Kelsey Grammer.

And just my luck...the show I was at was the FIRST show that Kelsey Grammer had not appeared in. TT_TT

  • I saw this twice with Hodge's understudy, Dale Hensley, was playing and he was perfect! His voice had so much more power and was more like George Hearn than Hodge is... I'm not saying I don't like Hodge, but Dale's performance was just beautiful, he has more of a subtlety about him.

  • I am incredibly excited it goes on national tour end of 2011!! I hope it comes to my town!! One of my favorite musicals.

  • Best revival in my opinion this is fantastic :D.

  • Saw this show for my 18th brithday and I fell in love with this show. Does anyone know if there is going to cast recording? I nee to relive this musical over agian

  • @wanttobediva i think a revial recording comes out in mid september.

  • I saw the first performance - as in first preview - of this on April 6. I came because I was familar with some of Jerry Herman's other material (not this show) and enjoyed it, but most importantly because Kelsey Grammer is a great hero of mine and for years I had hoped he would return to Broadway.

I loved Kelsey's beautiful singing and the show itself, but, my Lord, Doug Hodge's performance as Albin...out of this world incredible.

I will never forget it as long as I live.

  • carriewhite Albin was amazing i saw this last week in New York! He is an awesome actor and him and Kelsey Grammar together were brilliant! How can you judge someone from listening to one 5 second grab! Was the best show i saw!

  • Douglas Hodge is amazing as Albin?!

  • ...what the fuck....Albin's voice is horrible...

At least with the obc they had an amazing voice in George Hearn....

  • We saw this wonderfully moving performance in the first few days of previews. It was wonderful!!! Douglas Hodge gave Albin so much depth and humor he was fabulous.

  • Saw this on Broadway during its first weekt. Sat in the Cabaret Seats just in front of the stage. This is a great show and Doug Hodge as Albin is unbelievable. An absolute must see!

  • great production--the best ive seen--as it should be done--in a small theater

  • Why is Georges sitting like an uptight straight man? His physicality needs work.

  • Doug Hodge is AMAZING.

  • Saw this show when I was in London with John Barrowman and Simon Burke in it. I'm hoping to get to NYC to see this production of La Cage. I love this musical!

  • I can't hardly wait. Looking forward to seeing it.
