Maybe you might know, can't find information anywhere. Do you know why Amtrak stopped printing "SUPERLINER" on the side of their cars? I miss it, I remember before I started flying I took the train a lot. Empire Builder from Lacey via Seattle then to Chicago all the way to Philadelphia.
I thought the same thing. I have heard of cases of luggage going flying before. I think they dont bother between short distance stations and baggage doors that are hard to open and close.

Was the Defect Detector right there at the switch?

Its about a mile and a half down but by the time the train passes over it and it reports he's pretty close to the switch.
