Hey, no problem, mine is an HD but if you want to get a new one I totally understand. Just a suggestion, the Canons like mine are nice because they have a constant rate zoom and really nice optics, watch the cheaper brands as they don't have the same image quality. Also look for 24p (film mode) it's really a nice effect. Good luck.
@utahrail thanks for tips where do you railfan because i looked on your channel and only saw three videos that one of the heber creeper train is pretty cool i didnt know they have that im actually a brakeman on the hvrr during the summer but do you have another channel with more videos
@anderberger Yeah, since I moved here to Provo a couple months ago I have been really busy getting up to speed on my full time job, those other 2 vids are a few years old. Go check out virginiatruckee and renorailfan channels to see my work in Nevada. Is the Heber Valley RR running trains right now?
@utahrail ok i will check those channels out and no the HVRR is not running right now they shut down for the winter their last day was i believe december 29 and they will start up again memorial day weekend with the 5 day event "day out with thomas"
@utahrail this place is called gomex ut its right at the mouth of spanish fork canyon and i have a tripod but the little plastic part where you screw the tripod into the camera got stripped i plan on getting a new camera soon
@utahrail I moved here to Provo from Reno, I don't use my Canon HV 20 any more, if you want an HD camera (tape based) I'll make you a good deal. Almost everything on my virginiatruckee channel was shot with it. And I'll throw in a free tripod, lol. (just kidding on the tripod) Sent me a message if you're interested.
@anderberger It's HDV instead of AVCHD, you play the tape back and capture the scenes you want. I like it because the tape lives on as a backup. It was the standard before flash and hard drive cameras.

@utahrail I use Adobe Premiere CS3, for capturing and editing in hi-def. Other programs will work as well.
