@funkeemon NGuyên Lê's record Purple offers the same kind of music and Terry Lynn Carrington appears on some tracks. It's a tribute to Hendrix, maybe you could like it.

As mean as she is Terry didn't do this song justice live. The recording is so much better. I guess bringing people from the culture you want to set the song in helps. On the recording they called Karim Ziad to play Guembri and I Bnat Howariat for the call! It definitely has a big Sufi trance bearing on the recording.
