  • its not clutch slip, i'm pretty sure your just spinning your tires on ice :P

  • lols worst slip ive ever seen. my friend rides his clutch like its goin outta style and it slips every now and then but on the low end

  • oooh new clutch really soon - happened to me! getting new clutch :(

  • Now its a CVT

  • wow epic clutch slip!

  • buy a new clutch..?

  • LOL you think thats bad??? My OLd 77 Triumph can barely get to normal speed with out it slipping.. and hills are almost impossible!

  • whats wrong with these commenters? your just showing what a sliping clutch sounds like ... anyway my 90 hatch just started to slip last night ...ugh!!!

  • hahahahahahahahaajajajaajajahahahjajhjhjajgdhgbfv

  • clean your car!! diry as hell...

  • If you let it rev/slip for too long, it'll burn the clutch out and eventually eat away at your flywheel. Just take a day and a couple hundred dollars and replace the whole clutch assembly. Trust me, it's worth both the gas savings and performance increase.

  • Dusty wheel ;)

  • What gear were you on? And was it downhill?

  • well thats not the smartest thing to do

  • yeah its a 1990 240sx pig nose

  • @1FST240SX nice car by the way you should sell it to me :)

  • my clutch is starting to slip, but mine is also making a slight noise at times or when it is cold outside. i think its a bearing within the clutch or something.

  • lmao your clutch is fucked mate

  • is this a subaru your driving in ?

  • @baciar98 Nope, Nissan. And if I'm correct, a 240SX.

  • what car was that? some1 pm me please thanks :D

  • EYY MAN U GOT UR OWN CVT NOW.

  • Does anyone know if when your clutch is slipping, whether it'll slip for certain gears or if it will have the same effect indiscriminately on every gear. Cuz I feel like my clutch is slipping in 2nd and very slightly in 3rd gear. But not first, fourth, or fifth. Anyone know what the issue may be?

  • A bad or slippy clutch, is when you accelerate, the rpms keep increasing but you aren't going any faster. and only when you let off the throttle will it actually increase in speed.

ever wonder why cars with better clutches chirp between gears? its because rotation's in 1 gear isn't the same as the next gear. with a really good performance clutch, it doesn't matter if the engine and tranny are at the same rotation speed or not, it will just grap and go, hence the chirp between gears.

  • I know what clutch slip is. I'm just curious if it affects every gear all the same. Or if you can feel it in certain gears more than others. Because my problem is that I don't feel like my second gear is giving me any power but the engine rpms go way up. But the other gears don't have the same issue. So either it's clutch slip, or something odd that resembles it.

  • first off automatic or manual? because both can have clutch slip.....

second, usually a slipping clutch is apparent in all gears, not just 1. if your second gear feels "slow" then you could have chipped teeth in your tranny, causing really bad acceleration. does it feel like it takes forever to get through second? or does it just feel short? honda's go through first and second quite fast, and 3rd is the longest gear. 0-35 in first, 35-60/70ish (depending on tranny) and 3rd goes even higher.

  • Manual. And I'm not sure what you mean when you say how long it takes to get through second. since second gear seems to be slipping and doesn't match the tach. I just shift at like three grand. And if I go all out to seven grand it seems like I only gained like 7 mph tops out of the gear.

  • take it to a shop and have them do a diagnosis. If it ends up being the clutch, then replace it and the flywheel. 90 for a OE clutch and 90 for a flywheel. no more, may be less depending on the brand. My stock OE clutch/flywheel was only $150 total (90 for clutch 60 for flywheel). I went and got a LUK clutch and a brand that starts with a P for the flywheel. Both work fine for my OE application. If you want, you can buy aftermarket and have them put it in. They may or may not charge more.

  • @bastec666 automatic transmissions don't have a clutch dude...... >_>

  • @slippinslidewayz

who the fuck said anything about automatic? and if you watch the video he clearly has a manual.....

  • "thats a clutch slip!" haha

  • cool u made ur own cvt lol

  • @acuraluver hahhahaha

  • time for new clutch/flywheel. Should had taken it easy when it first started slipping and maybe got away with resurfacing the flywheel. now u need new one im sure.

    Good Job. Kool Vid Tho

  • @TravisCadello when i ran my dead clutch for about 1 month the flywheel was dead.. cost me 15 the pass it some kind of machine and she was good to go

  • why would u need to replae the fly wheel just slap in a new clutch disk and possibly a new pressure plate and no problem and resurfaceing a fly wheel is easy to do at home when u drop ur tranny support the motor and start it up with the pressure plate and clutch removed of corse and grind it a bit with an angle grinder same with break drums u jack up the vehicle and put the drums on back wards and start the engine in last gear and grind them with an angle grinder

  • Hmm, I have the same problem in my 200sx, but its not the clutch, its the electrics of the rev gauge. (The signal is weak)

  • its called a tachometor

  • i never knew Nissan had the cvt transmission in this car, lmao

  • lol my 200sx does the same thing

  • There goes one flywheel!

  • Who cares just buy a chrome moly one lighter and stronger and really not that expensive.

Unless I'm broke when it happens thats what I'll do when it comes time for me to change a clutch.

If not a used one ain't bad even or have it resurfaced.

  • let off the throttle next time dumbass

  • I liked the part where da car went vroom.

  • omfg that is horendous ahahhahahahhahahahahhahahaah. sorry dude but thats so funny

  • no haha i can tell it's a 240 too

  • WOW! thats horrible clutch slippage.

When i first built one of my old Honda i put a brand new clutch in it a stock one from autozone and first thing i did was go bank the gear and every gear did what you'res did. i think that was because it wasn't broken in and it had oil on flywheel. so i drove it soft after that for 600 miles when and banged on it and took it to track running 14.5's 1/4 mile and it never slipped.

I Turboed it with 15PSI boost about 425HP and punched it and it toasted clutch

  • Is it sad I can tell this is an S13 240sx just by looking at the gauges?

  • No, it means you know how to recognise a cool car from the gauges.

  • first of all this car was a project car clutch was being replaced just wanted to show how bad it was when the guy sold it to me and im sure u have a very nice bike with 3 wheels u clown

  • LOL!!! XD!! last part of your comment cracked me up XD!

  • Its amazing that people try to post here while having no skills to communicate in written English.

  • i had a passenger who was a female who had never seen what it was like to see clutch slip i was explaining it to her just figured id fill ur absent mind with some info since u felt the need to be a prick on my video

  • hahah your all morons this kids just showing you it slipping chill out

  • its kinda like having a cvt

  • Well, Unsyncro'd transmissions will last ages longer when your good at it. My grandfather drove a bus for years. The clutch was this big pedal that took 2 feet to press down. None of the drivers ever used it, and yet those transmissions never needed to be serviced. With all the shit moving along in transmissions these days, Its just too much to go wrong.

Now bike transmissions, Those are simple as fuck lol. Ive never heard of anyone grinding gears on a motorcycle.

  • Think about it though, would you like to drive to work with a bus tranny? technology and comfort comes at a cost.

  • A really experienced driver can drive a stick without a clutch with MINIMAL damage to syncros, but there would still be some damage. Ive seen people rape there transmissions trying to do that haha. Either way, Your looking at an expensive repair bill

  • if the power isnt making it to the transmission, how is there stress being put on the differential? I just think its wierd that the car can manage 1st gear fine but then once the clutch is disengaged and re-engaged again under torque, it slips. Doesnt sound like a clutch adjustment problem. Ive also never seen someone adjust pedal freeplay at the slave cylinder. Sounds to me like you need a new clutch/pressure plate. If u habitually shift hard, youll break off pressure plate finger springs.

  • Damn dude ur burning the clutch

  • just adjust your clutch the screw on your clutch master. thats what i did on mine because there needs to be a little play in the pedal. hope it works out for you

  • ? that actually puts less pressure on the differential..

  • Shit, you're so fucking stupid that I laughed right at your post! :)

  • U FUCKING IDIOT! shut the fuck up, theres actually less pressure on his "diff's" u fucking idiot u have to get ur facts straight....

  • your a fucking goof the car was a piece it was rotten beyond repair unless ur stupid ass would liek to dish out the 8000 to fix it all be my guest, oh and i sold it

  • take it easy its his car if he wants to break it he can

  • You obviously have no idea how a car works, let alone a manual transmission, When the clutch pedal is depressed., The car is in neutral. No power is going to the diff. So when the clutch is slipping, Your loosing power to the diff, because the clutch is loosing contact. Basically coming in and out of neutral. If anything, Reving the shit out of the engine is burning the clutch plate. Theres no damage going to the diff. Before you post again about cars, Pickup a fucking book and read it.

  • fucking hear him revving it up good way to blow ur clutch or engine

  • Clutch is already a write off if its slipping that bad. If he keeps bringing the rpms up so high in neutral, His engine is next. Remember, When the engine has no load, It can spin faster, Too much load, or too little load on an engine at high rpm is potentially harmful

  • actually having the clutch depressed is not the same as being in neutral, if that's what you were saying. the difference is that the throwout bearing and fork are off the clutch plate, when you're in neutral you have them on it but it's not on a gear to your diff.

    no harm done though.

  • No I wasnt implying that, or at least wasnt trying to. I meant its the same concept.

  • well actually ur burnin the clutch up when you sit at a stop light or any were. its best to just put in nuetral when ur not moiving

  • @payndew how? when all the power is being lost when the clutch is slipping on the flywheel

  • @payndew hahaha what are you talking about man, the diff is having the best time of its life with the clutch slipping

  • @payndew, do you know what your talking about?

  • you can tell when the clutch because the gears feel like there hesitating and the motor is almost revving freely but the car go nowhere

  • mine would slip so bad that when i took it out of gear and was at a full stop the rpms would just rev up for about 5 seconds..but they mercury told me it was just a sensor then it stopped?

  • mine do it to but not that much so do i have to change the disk or Pressure Plates ?

  • Both

  • well hey its kinda like a cvt

  • car is for sale

  • it sounds nice but u gotz to fix that clutch, lol. mines also got messed up and it sounded similar expect it happened after i shifted not at the peak RPM's

  • i want to get a 240sx hatchback, but im not used to driving manual. so how can you tell if the clutch slips?

  • u can tell if your gears don't lock in as fast, if u have to pull hard to shift, or if when your stepping on it: all u like your reving it high but your going nowhere

  • yeah if you notice when i shift at 0:04 in the clip the rpms dont drop they just stay high its kiz the cluth discs are warn and not placing the car into gear well enough biggest pain in the ass

  • cool, it makes logical sense! thanx

  • yea i feel u brotha haha my car had the same problem but i fixed it, $350. those burnouts sure cost lotz os money

  • yeah i cant get a clutch off my buddy for 50 and its a stage 3 preped for 550 hp i love it then me and my bro will put it in im in the learning stage lol

  • oh not kidding i did one when my clutch was already nice and fucked so i sent it over the edge im lil worried about my presure plate too but owell ill figure something out

  • no its slipping because there is not enough pressure against the clutch plate to keep it firmly on the flywheel. your flywheel and clutch disk is spinning at different speeds.
