Yes. FCP is one of the highest end editing systems out there. Though FCE isn't bad :) You can still do a lot with it. You can still create professional products with FCE or any video editor, just fcp has many upon many tools to bring it to grade A film level.

Thanks. It is geared of course to FCP users but a lot of the effects and training is completely relevant for FCE users as well. I would recommend it for both.

it is better of course, but be gratefull FCE is still high class and does the majority of what FCP can do.

You can basically do the same thing except FCE has less plug ins.. but really the biggest difference between FCE and FCP is that FCE is the easier to use program. FCP has more advanced stuff. Oh yeah dude, FCP does NOT sell individual which means you can NOT just buy FCP, it comes with the whole bundle of Final Cut Studio which costs about 900-1200 dollars. I dont think your dad wanted to spend that kind of money... so be GLAD you got that

lol ya well i mean its not that big of a deal ya pro is used everywhere in major hollywood studios but express is mainly used for short film home studio/ people that r on budgets so nothing to worry about its just the price ur just looking at basically thats all just the price.. and for livetype try software update, on the menu bar up top left of the screen click the apple and go to software update and that should update all ur software to the latest versions..

nope.. its pretty much about the same thing the only thing is some plugins and effects missing from pro to express and a major price drop, thats all.. i have both as well.. but thats just how i see it nothing else tho same interface and layout
