My best was room for 60.000, but I never really got 60.000 inhabitants. The engine stops working at some point. for example half of my wehat farms didnt deliever.

Whats the name for your housing block? How does it acutally work?

I can't remember how... I believe there are two rotate buttons at the panel somewhere when you are trying to place the scantuaries (with the green and red tiles indicating where you can and can't place the building). I remember that large buildings like the stadium and palace can be rotated too.

Box definately.  Its been a while ago, but I remembered checking out some forums on the best possible formation. I think I actually came out with one which was more efficient than what some claimed to be the best possible. I believe I have 41 houses in one box with all maxed out as townhouse? The limitation on how big the box can be is how far the water bearer and infamary guy will walk before finding the shortest way back to the building. I think my formation is in such a way that. Cont. In such a way that those two folks walks just past the mid point of the box and the shortest way back to the building is to complete the round. I remembered that there was a flaw though... if I am not wrong, the tax guy may not complete the round sometimes. I think I only collect 80% of all the houses as sometimes the tax guy goes the "wrong way", but it did not really matter as the system as a whole was efficient enough that I did not need all the tax.

Now that I start, I can't stop. Okay, this formation is probably as good as it can get for the number of house per block (which determines efficiency - i.e. num of workers to support housing per housing). This determines how much free workers you have for military and other econs.  However, it also takes up quite a lot of bix square plots of land. If you don't have that luxury, the straight line is what you need to do... Which is way way less efficiency.

Yes they do. They do not cross the road block. So they take up a fixed plot of land and are not an irritation when you are building around that area. Very important if land matters. Especially since they take up pastures.

I remembered that being a challenge... I have two "boxes" of elite housing. One has a stadium, and I can't remember how I got the other to gain "access". I think it has something to do with where the gymnasium is in the other box. The "competitor" has to walk past all houses before getting to that gymnasium. It is the competitor that determines the access I think... Can't remember very clearly.

Thats quite a bit more than what I have. Did you have a full military team? (see 2.32 in my video). =)

This is one of my fav city building games, even after nearly 10 years. I wish they would come out with a new version that keeps the gameplay intact but has improved graphics and possibly bigger and maybe randomized maps. I would never leave my room, lol.

@Shamr0kProductions All you have to do is rotate the map on all of the city building series games and build the building then, it works in any of the games with any building.

It gets really hard to get above this. The game has a data limit so when you start to get so many walkers some buildings will simply no longer put out walkers so everything will devolve or burn and collapse. My personal best is 14500 using extremely efficient housing blocks. Some people have managed to get more than 30000 but no more than that is really possible at all.

I played this game for well over 2 years, and you are laying out your cities more like I eventually learned to. Instead of randomly placing structures along long roads , everything functions better in square patterns. You can even place carding sheds, or storage sheds, or the like within blocked off squares which have a safety dude patroling. You are doing GREAT!!!

Like i place my houses around a square of path with park in the middle and a path linking the two sides together so the distributor trolley doesnt miss any houses! He would always miss the odd house! Same for the fountain guys! This way you cover more ground with fewer need for agoras and fountains :)

You'll need to build horse ranches. Supply the horse ranches with wheat. Make sure the ranch is not too far from the Agora supplying your elite housing. And of course supply your elite housing with everything it needs.

When you place a building (trying to get all your tiles green), u can press R (I think its R) on your keyboard and it will rotate (I guess that's what R stands for). I think only larger buildings like Palace, stadium and scantuaries can be rotated.
