  • sounds better then soulja boy

  • The narrator's speech is somewhat out of date. Vogon Poetry is now the #4 worst poetry out there; the poetry of the Azgoths of Kria is #3 now; #2 is all the poetry written by Ms. Jennings of Sussex. Today, the worst poetry is pretty much all the mainstream pop and 'rap' 'music' of Earth that makes your ears bleed when you hear it on Earth radio (notable 'poems' include: Tik Tok, Cat Daddy, Crank That, Baby, Friday, etc.).

  • "Oh freddled gruntbuggly, thy micturations are to me- As plurdled gabbleblotchits on a lurgid bee. Groop I implore thee, my froonting turlingdromes. And hooptiously drangle me with crinkly bindlewurdles,/ Or I will rend thee in the gobberwarts with my blurglecruncheon, see if I don't!"

  • strange, in the book they were sitting on chairs, and there was no giant mic set dropping from the ceiling.

  • "Ó fragúndio bugalhostro, tua micturição é para mim

    Qual manchimucos num lúrgido mastim

Frêmeo implochoro-o, ó meu perlíndromo exangue.

Adrede me não apagianaste a crímidos dessartes?

Ter-te-ei rabirrotos, raio que o parta!" (Brazilian version)

  • These versions of Vogons look soo much like bureaucrats, brilliant!

  • OH MY GOD I CANNOT BELIEVE THESE PEOPLE! TOTAL MUCKING UP OF THE HITCHHIKERS GUIDE TO THE GALAXY!! I HATE YOU ALL!

  • @20meerkat Cry some moar. Each version of the series is different. Get over it.

  • Only Lewis Carroll could listen to this and actually make sense of it. xD

  • I know Douglas Adams wrote in some metaphor and allegory to get the story moving along, and I am unclear of the British civil service. My question is the Vogons the civil servants or Britain? I know about the American civil service, they are so constrained that should one accidentally find a book of poetry to know allegory and metaphor, it is a firing offense; because it was never properly regulated and appears as a wild, loose government agent who made an adroit assessment of life.

  • 6 people died listening to Vogon Poetry.

  • im guessing they wrere supposed to say they hated the poem...or either way nomatter what they say they still get thrown into space,

  • I want to wander the streets at one in the morning, drunk off my face, wearing only a dressing gown, reciting this poem. Yeah.

  • i love this movie

  • AAAUGHHHH!!! MY BRAINS!!!

  • Maybe probably the most overengeneered hook for suspending a microphone in the entire universe..

  • @ureallidiots Probably, yeah.

  • Don't ever tell someone that all they want is to be loved is the lesson here.

  • Just came back from the hospital:

diagnosed with, internal bleeding, diarhea, and brain damage.

    absolutely horrible poetry!

  • Sounds like a party political program, check my video on vogons, please sub

  • "Oh freddled gruntbuggly?thy micturations are to me/As plurdled gabbleblotchis on a lurgid bee. Groop I implore thee, my foonting turlingdromes. And hooptiously drangle me with crinkly bindlewurdles,/ Or I will rend thee in the gobberwarts with my blurglecruncheon, see if I don't!"

  • they forgot the part where the poet tried to make up to everyone by reading his 12 part epic "favorite bathime gurgles" and his own body tried to save everybody by shooting his intestines through his brain.

  • MY EARS! MY EARS! IT HURTS!

  • HEY!!! Those snot nosed brats don't say no poems to me or those tied up frelch-day-saints unless they have permission from some people.......who YOU'll never know!!! (:3

  • I hope you grow to have some of the milk of human kindness in you.

  • no, I always take sum soymilk, that kind is very rare to find sometimes.

  • Lol, it's will be Hilarius when a fatass kick your ass.

And im sure this fatass of which you speak has kicked your ass a few times, thus your hate for him

  • lol!

  • I thought of this scene while reading Mike Dockins poetry.

  • Better than the poet woman at the inauguration. God she was so horrible!

  • k I'm not sure if anyone else has heard of this easter egg... but apparently the old marvin is supposed to be in the background of this scene... anyone seen him?

  • Not this scene. The scene where they're all in line with the other aliens, waiting for the paperwork to get stamped. He's right next to Zaphod's picture on the wall.

  • lol poetry can cause hemmorage

  • this was better than the bbc scene

imo, the scenes that were in the book (vogon poetry, magrathea) were better in the film, but the middle section ruined it

  • that cracks me up, the scene in the book is just as good.

  • Now that's not fair. He told him what he thought of his poem. He even said it was nice. That's quite rude. Vogons. :(

  • @Starwoid24 - But I think he was offended by being told he just wanted to be loved, one would think they enjoy being cold and heartless.

  • @Starwoid24 I'm not sure you quite understand the concept of a "Vogon".

  • they ruined this bit with the book talking over it the film is shit compared to the original radio show

  • Vogon poetry = borderline death.

    *lol @ Ford's spazziness*

  • The whole effect of the callousness of the Vogons is definitely amplified in the movie vs the BBC series.

  • cool poem, but you would be dead if you were not a human

  • "Throw them off the ship!"

    lol

  • Oh zerfreddelter Grunzwanzling

    dein Harngedränge ist für mich

    wie Schnatterfleck auf Bienenstich.

    Grupp, ich beschwöre dich!

Und drängel reifig mich in krinklen Bindelwördeln,

sonst werd ich rändern dich in deinen Gobberwarzen,

    wart's nur ab!!

  • I always thought they messed up the reading of the poetry in the film version. Much better in the original BBC Radio 4 version (also because you actually hear the entire poem - and it's pretty funny stuff).

  • Oh freddled gruntbuggly,

    Thy micturations are to me

    As plurdled gabbleblotchits

    On a lurgid bee.

    ...awesome!

  • awesome poetry :P

  • i'd ratter die in space than listen to vogon poetry

  • Funny perspective, but I liked it, will link it with my vid if you don't mind if you do I'll remove the link

  • Go ahead. =]

  • Done :-)

  • vid and sound out of sync

  • It'll do that sometimes.
