  • last time for me was pirates of the carribian

  • I smoked my first pipe sometime in 1957. I went to a cinema (movie theatre) because it gave some sort of privacy. The film was a WW2 naval epic with lots of naval officers puffing away on pipes as they planned their strategy. I was in heaven! But has any one any idea of the name of the film?

  • the best movie star to be caught with a pipe in a movie was lee van cleef. i just bought the same type of pipe (wdc wellington) he smoked in the good the bad and the ugly. and he didn't just smoke pipes in the westerns he was in. it was an avid hobby of his so much that a pipe smoking magazine called him the pipe smoker of the century

  • @superextempman even though you may soon take that honor one day :)

  • Sherlock Holmes was the last movie I saw with pipe smoking it was a great movie till sherlock destroid his pipe on some chemical bomb device the first two movies I saw with pipe smoking when I was a little kid were 101 dalmashons and the great mouse detective both were disney movies and ever since I've seen roger smoke a pipe in 101 dalmashons I've been obsessed with pipes can't wait to pick up the hobbie

  • @GothicKingCobra52 as I currently smoke cigarets and cigars and I still live with my perints and they take take away my tobacco stash if they find it its an issue even though I'm nineteen sucks when they take my cigarets and cigars away

  • I was kinda thinking, with a little work, you could go for the look of my personal hero Vincent Van Gogh. Love your work. G

  • lol speaking of there will be blood, you kind of look like D-Day lewis

  • @TheGoonOfCameroon Thanks!

  • "Mr. Blandings builds his dream house" is a old 1948 black and white movie that has tons of pipe smoking when it was still commonplace. Don't know if you like old movies but give this one a try it has lots of funny lines that you might enjoy.

  • dont know if you have seen the movie adventureland but theres pipe smoking in that

  • you should watch Scott of the Antarctic, if you haven't already. its an old ealing studios film. there is hardly a scene with out pipe smoking in it! great videos by the way..... also i've been trying to find a tobacco thats as close to balkan sobranie as possible do you have any recommendations?

  • I will check it out

  • lol When was the last time you saw Pipe smoking in a movie? How about the Lord of the Rings??

  • Sherlock Holmes

  • @PipeFriendCHS and in Sherlock Holmes he smokes a pipe!

  • Believe it or not this guy is actually a homosexual...who would've guessed.

  • LOL , I am sorry i don't fit the false media stereotype of effeminate fashion obsessed interior decorator with tweaked eyebrows and jewelry ;-)

  • @BobbyM663 LOL

Keep watching guy's got some effeminate mannerisms actually. 100% homosexual.

Funny thing, because when I first saw one of his videos, i thought he was straight, but something was off.

Second video, something is still off about this guy. Straight acting, but trying to hard.

    .

  • @TheMaligner seriously who gives a shit whether hes gay or not

  • @BobbyM663

Not in a bad way, but he reminds me of my gay bear friends. It's hard to pin it down, but it's overdone machismo. You can tell a straight-acting gay in a minute.

Bam. Turns out guy is gay. Nothing wrong with that, I find strained machismo is better than squeekie twinkie whining

  • I have some gay acting straight friends lol. They are called metrosexuals. ;-)

  • "DRAINAGE, drainage Eli you boy, drained dry I'm so sorry. If you have a Milkshake and you have a milkshake and I have a straw, there it is, watch it, and my straw reached acroooooooooooss the room and starts to drink your milkshake... I drink your MILKSHAKE!" It has become my favorite movie, not entirely because of pipe smoking but that made the movie just that much cooler.

  • how many years have you smoked for? i have been smoking pipes for 5 years now just curious

  • first pipe at age 16, but sort of serious for a decade now

  • i am 15 and want to eventually get into pipe smoking at around 16-17 what do you recommend as for a weaker tobacco

  • I will say this much and shut up. The Almighty put both tobacco and pot on this earth for us to use as we see fit. The problem is there is always someone who wants to take all that away from everyone. Yet this someone will not launch a witch hunt against their own vises. These type of people are hypocritical slugs.

  • In fact, the last movie I saw with lots of pipe smoking was a Sherlock Holmes flick starring Basil Rathbone and Nigal Bruce.

  • Last movie that I can remember I saw where there was pipe smoking, was the Lord Of The Rings series..

  • i know that in "Walk the line" at the ending Johnny cash's father was smoking what appeared to be a bulldog.

  • Hey guy, where did you park the trailer for that pipe?

  • :-) Next to the other 55 trailers for my large pipes

  • I knowed it. I knowed it. I knowed ye had a trailer fer it ;). Nice pipe.

  • That car looks familiar. What are you driving Mark?

  • A Honda Civic Hybrid

  • Nice car. I've been guaranteed a 97 Civic DX 4dr Sedan for my first car. The only thing is they lack leg room for tall persons.

  • I watch Mystery Science Theater and lots of the movies are from the 50's and 60's, so you see pipe smoking.

  • Lord, put me in your will. You have some really gorgeous pipes...

  • I sometimes sell one on eBay. I have no plans on dieing anytime soon :-)

  • If you're into great musicals, you might want to watch one with Fred Astaire called, "Roberta!" He's seen smoking a straight pipe which I think just might be a Dunhill. Ginger Rogers, what a hottie...

  • how many full bowls do you think you smoke a day?

  • 2 large bowls on a weekday,5 on a weekend, or maybe 4

  • Lord Of The Rings! good pipe smoking

  • last time was with the best pipe smoker lee van cleef in good bad and the ugly

  • well i guess u should check men of honor, legends of fall and the dark past if u r seeking that kind of scene,,i keep on rewatching them for the sake of pipes in them

    cheers

  • Actually, from what I've seen, there is no actual pipe smoking in "There Will Be Blood". Daniel Day Lewis holds the pipe in his mouth a few times, but there is no actual smoking of the pipe. He smokes several cigarettes though.

  • You wouldn't happen to remember what kind of pipes he had in that film do you? This information doesn't seem to be relevant enough to post on the internet anywhere.

  • Haven seen a movie with a pipe smoker it it since an old "Sherlock Holmes" was shown some time ago on TV.

  • Needs more silence.

  • In other words, why are your videos always blurry? Not as bad as many but never a great, clear picture. Too bad.

  • Your videos are rather intriguing but the thing is your equipmnet is never that smooth. I'm always hoping you might get new equipment and thus be able to produce a more smooth, true-to-life scene.

When did you start smoking a pipe and did you use the other forms of tobacco before?

What was the main attraction in the first place?

  • Sorry the quality is not what you want it to be

  • Upsiditus, I'm always hoping people of your ilk will one day flea youtube in mass exodus. If you couldn't tell during your film critique, our friendly pipe connosuier is sitting in his car at McDonalds. Why don't you carry around camera equipment, higher quality of course, and give us discussion points while producing more smooth, true-to-life scenes? Give me a break you pompous fool. Keep up with the good stuff PipeFriend, it's great.

  • I don't know what the deal is. I just saw an e-mail claiming someone "replied" to one of comments about this video. I had NEVER EVEN SEEN THIS VIDEO, let alone commented prior to receiving this e-mail. What's going on here?

  • Thank you for the movie tip. Now, if only you could get wi-fi from inside the cinema...AND smoke your big briar in there. Ahhh what a dream!

  • I smoked my first briar in the cinema - fifty years ago. WW2 naval epic with lots of bearish naval officers, many puffing on pipes.

  • Hey Stud,

Thanks for the info. on the movie! Great to see you puffing on a big ol' briar!
