i ddid everything u said oktoprep is istalled then i upgrade to 1.1.2 and then i launch that 1.1.2 jailbreak and when everything is done it sais reboot or something and there is no installer and i tried to restart everything agian from going to 1.1.1 and downloading installer
nevermind i got it working, thanks for the vid it really helped, i was looking for a vid about upgrading to 1.1.2 firmware everywhere, so ya thanks, you should make more vids
i got the bat file to work, but its just sitting there, "reading flash image" and its not doing anything. it shouldn't take this long to finish it, am i doing something wrong?
Make sure you disable any Apple/iPod programs that may be using or accessing your iPod. You also may want to consider downloading the file again in case it was corrupt.
what am i doing wrong? I have 1.1.1 jailbreak (downgraded it from 1.1.4) i went to Tweaks 1.1.1, install OktoPrep and then click windows and started the process. it finished reboot and its still is 1.1.1 and has all the apps. on the screen.
after OkToPrep - you need to run the file downloaded from the link (9 seconds into the video) and run it. That Jailbreak 1.1.2 file finalizes the 1.1.2 process. Be sure to follow the video instructions closely.
ok i have a 1.1.1 jailbroken, i go to itunes and up it to 1.1.2, then when i try to jailbreak just like you said it says i need oktoprep what did i do wrong?
you click the 'processes' tab in ctrl-alt-delete. then just look and if there is anything with ipod or apple or something like that in the name, just click on it and click end process.
Latley i haven't been able to download anything, every time i try to download something from the installer it says error package download failed; can not find host. i make sure my wifi is on. what do u reccomend i do???
ok now im having the reading flash image problem...its just been doing that....there are no processes in my task manager with apple related names either...
FOR ALL PEOPLE WHO CANT FIND OKTOPREP IN INSTALLER: go to your installer, then install at the bottom, then scroll down to sources, then download community sources. after downloading community sources then press homebutton for changes to take effect, then go back into installer, go to install, then all packages, then scroll all the way down to The O's and OkToPrep 1.1.1, and there you have it.
Yes oktoprep is required. You really can't go to the next step without using it. If you skip this or any of the steps in the video, the update can slow, stall or just fail.
hey man, its not working for me. i did everything right, downloaded all the prompts, installed okto prep, upgraded to 1.1.2 etc. but for some reason when all the patching is done, i reboot my ipod, then press ok and nothing happnens. it is really frustrating cause there is no ohter way to jailbreak it and is preventing me from jailbreaking 1.1.3 if u can get back to me that would be great
When all the patching is done - there is no need to reboot your iPod. When the update is complete you need to let it sit. It will reboot itself however many times it needs to. Its best to set it down and let it go. Once it gets to the main screen "Slide to Unlock" - follow the steps in video to check that you are updated to 1.1.2.
Reading the flash image (iPod connected to computer) should not take 5 minutes. If the - oktoprep - doesn't complete properly that is really the only thing that could have gone wrong. oktoprep must take before applying conceitedsoftware's patch file mentioned at the start of the video.
Since I use a PC, I don't know the ins/outs of a Mac update.
ok i've done eveything to jailbreak 1.1.2 but eveytime i try it says that i havent downloaded oktoprep, when i know i have. i even downgraded, again, and downloaded it again. tryed it a second time. stopped at the same spot in the command prompt. it gets to reading flash image and an error (like that long iphone one, but smaller) pops up saying i need oktoprep before i can jailbreak it. ugh!!! is there some other file i need also? i'm stuck!
ok i got it to work, i was doing everythin right but i was shift clicking RESTORE instead of UPGRADE. thats where i went wrong. thanks alot man your video helped!!!
hi, i have a problme i pushjailbreak and after that just the screen sad reading flash and just wrote some numbers in one line and that its! nothing more, so the progress line doesn finish what can i do?? thanks!
One is you need to OKTOPREP your Touch first. I have a tutorial on how to do that - BUT - Apple has since upgraded the firmware to 1.1.3
The trick now is to get the 1.1.2 Firmware downgrade downloaded and installed. I'm looking into finding an official Apple link to get the 1.1.2 downgrade.
OK here's the deal. the 1.1.2 link from Apple I have is clearly marked "iPhone". Previous downgrades only state "Ipod". After doing some research it appears no one has come up with one that says "iPod". There are unofficial links to iPod 1.1.2, but I wouldn't advise using them.
Thanks dude you really helped.without you i dont know how i would have done it. right now im upgrading to 1.1.3 on my ipod. wonder how long it will take...
No you don't need wifi - You can use your iPod connection to your PC and you're good to go. You just need to be sure you have any files you need ready to install on the PC you are using. Hope that helps.
"Long" as in one hour - No, but I'm sure there is a that one rare situation. It's important to set it down and let it go through the motions. It's probably better to do something else while it's installing updating the image.
will this work for 2 gen of ipod touch

ok so i have a jailbroken 1.1.1 and i followed all your steps but i'm still 1.1.1 even after it told me that the upgrade is complete.
Do i have to clear everything of my springboard in order for this to work?
tubes904 4 years ago
No. There is no need to clear anything. When you "OKTOPREP" then update to 1.1.2 you effectively start from scratch.
richcz3 4 years ago
i downgraded to 1.1.1 and how do i get the firmware upgrade to 1.1.2
DiabloItaliano117 4 years ago
There are two issues here.
