  • Watch this video, it'll blow your mind. Just type this in after .com

    /watch?v=UvOBIy1P8Do

  • when the organ plays i check outside to see if a clown is driving an ice cream van down my street...

  • i think humbug is a great album and musically its great especially drumming.

but i dont think josh homme deserves much credit, am write their songs and music,

  • "What came first the chicken or the dickhead?" :D Niiiice!!! :D

  • I think we forget that James Ford also produced songs on this album - My Propeller, Secret Door and Cornerstone. So kudos to him too, as well as Josh Homme.

  • lets all hope for another great album from them next year. or the last shadow puppets.

  • well lets hope alex stays miserable cos thats were the good musics coming from

  • no way dey were way better a few years ago wen dey were livley. humbug is still a class album tho!

  • you can all thank josh homme for the amazing new arctic's album. in homme we trust. what would josh do?

  • Yea sure. Out of the 3 albums (not counting Beneath The Boardwalk, Who the fuck are~ and Five minutes with~ for obvious reasons), this is my least favourite. Still love it though, but love the other 2 a lot more. My 3 favourite songs on Humbug are Secret Door, My Propeller, coincidentally all produced by James Ford. Thanks James. Pretty Visitors has sooo much potential, but it's a little overproduced, too bad, now it's just a "hey that's pretty cool" song to me, instead of a "wow fuck, AWESOME"1

  • their new music, is dark and kinda trippy you gotta love the haunted house organ in this. :D

  • Artic monkeys have like changed a bit, personly i don't care their new stuff is amazing i love it, you could say their old music was maybe more punk.

  • One of best song from the new album in my opinion

  • I tihnk its very compatibale with their old stuff - i Love the new album so much... I feel like it has a real circusy theme to it aswell

  • wow what an awesome performance! Arctic monkeys rullez!

  • la jodieron

  • am's first album was one of the best i've ever hear, fmn was a pretty good album too but it have got a lot of some strange effects, not the old english indie, and the new album isn't arctic monkeys like before, its just a new band.

  • i totally argee with you, still love them :) ohh just to make people a bit jealous seeing them this friday tehehe :D

  • i really like this song!!

    AM legends!!!

  • i love this new album and for me it is the best one they have done so far

but hey, seeing the other comments maybe it's just me

  • you aren't wrong there. Their new album is their best. Anybody who complains "it isn't Arctic Monkeys" just doesn't appreciate the role of the artist.

  • yeah but if they had put this album out first they'd still be in sheffield right now.

  • whatever people say i am thats what im not is the best album ever !!!!!! Favorite Worst Nightmare was great and this is ok

  • I dunno...Crying Lightning is okay, but it's no Mardy Bum. What I mean is, there old, more indie style was so much better. But then again, they did do a good job going from the Indie Whatever people Say... to the more electro Favourite Worst nightmare. As long as they can adjust as well again, this will be awesome.

  • The new albums unreal! It takes a few listens but honestly behind all the fancy Josh Homme effects it's classic Monkeys! I promise you! Don't give up hope people!

  • this band is so on point and ahead of their time that most of you haters don't realize how fucking ill this album actually is. as far as vancio03's comment about cracking America, why dont you go crack your cock you dumb shit. you havent the slightest idea of what your commenting on. you probably like coldplay. Of course they're going to let him produce the album its Josh Homme, he does what ever the fuck he wants. this band is bad ass and this album is what's gunna make them stars.

  • incorrect.

whatever people say i am thats what im not made them stars.

  • Incorrect.

beneath the border walk made them famous.

  • no

    maybe it was good

but they became "famous " after the released WPSINTWIA thats when they hit the mainstream

like 90% of arctic monkeys fans havent heard beneath the border walk

  • Most of the fans I know have.

  • @mikeallitt958 tbh id say touring with milburn helped them get famous as thats how alot of ppl learnt their lyrics

  • @mikeallitt958 No, "Whatever People say i am thats what im not "made them famous, Beneath the boardwalk is only a collection of songs, not an album.

  • agree with you 100% well said. there new album from what ive heard so far is going to be amazing

  • Crack your cock......awesome!!! hahah!

  • Bring back the old Arctic Monkeys..

  • they arent the same as before though are they they aint 20 something lads from sheffield anymore.. they are 20 something lads.. that have completely blew apart the british music scene so they aint gunna be writing stuff like.. i bet you look good anymore are they bro?! my friend dowloaded the album yesterday trust me if your into music youll love it if not your not worthy to be a fan (Y)

  • They had to try something new, if they kept doing stuff like their old album it would all get a bit boring. SO maybe in the future they will go back to that style, but for now they have to attract new crowds.

  • this is their best album yet!!

  • lordpantherface approves of this

  • ROFL.

  • This is shit compared to the first album. I expected more.

  • Apparently they changed their music style. I like that

  • hmmm, remeber that this is live.

  • they are trying to be american, hence the reason why they are coming back to uk after touring america and europe to do leeds/reading then back to america again... no other gigs in england sellouts! i even reealised that you cant really hear alexs yorks accent in the new songs as much as first/second albums...i still like them though they just piss me off

  • they just surely want to tour america, am sure theyll come back to the u.k

  • Theyve got Josh Homme producing so theyre style was always gonna get more rock orientated and away from Indie rock wish I reckon theyve realised they gotta move away from before their pigeon holed as 'just another indie bad', even if they are one of the best ones.

Most likely following up their tour with QOTSA they did earlier to try and build a reputable fanbase in the US. Only way to crack America is on the back of another to begin with unfortunately...

  • Although the sound quality is terrible, it's still a great song!

  • My Propellor sounds fucking amazing. Youtube just removed it though.

  • im really loving this new stuff especially "crying lightning" and this one. crying lightning has such good pace and rythm. but yeah hoping humbug will be as good as first two albums. and stop dissing "favourite worst nightmare" in my opinion it was no worse than album one.

  • Yall Britons just aren't used to grunge music.

  • And thank fuck we aren't!

  • cause yankees would know

    and this is indie

  • that sounds brilliant :D

  • i kno people will prolly crack it at me for not being diverse in my music tastes or sum fucked up shit but im kinda disapointed by the new stuff. i kno there experimenting and there moving forward but things sound to dark and dull to me kind of no life, first album deffs the best. but thats just my opinion so dont rage at me for it.

  • There are two types of people on this internet thing. those that shout at people who don't share their opinions and call them fags, and the kind who beg people not to insult their opinion as if their life depended on it.

  • hahaha jeeeeeeesus. 10 minutes huh? didnt think it would be that long before someone had a go at my comment. was i begging? cant say i was. just trying to avoid exactly this. seems like you cant really say anything anymore without someone just being a smartass about things. so i take what i said back. i want every douchebag from here to moscow to crack it over my comment. maybe if i invite criticism, people will ignore it. but somehow i very much doubt that. :D:D:D

  • No, you are in between. I wasn't having a go, merely laughing to myself in comment form.

  • Shut up you little rat

  • ouch...

  • No need to be a nob about it though. You like a song or you don't that's it. Music is a personal thing.

  • ..shutup cmacl10.

  • Well he is right. People are so naieve about music. thinking anything that doesn't sound in some way poppy has to be metal. its retarded.

  • asi empezaron en split :)

  • yeah... this is just a bunch of random drumming....

too bad, they had two great albums so far. i hope this one doesn't turn out to be too experimental

  • yeah ive had the same fear since ive heard about what its supposed to be like

  • matt helders is a drumming god and it compliments the rest of the song very nicely.

  • His drumming is awesome, but really isn't a god. I bet the most drummers with max. 5 years experience can play his stuff.

  • but he came up with it. its awesome and different.

  • Yer its easy to play someone stuff buts its another thing to create it in the first place. I can play most of Claptons stuff but still dusent stop the fact that Clapton is god. Helders isint quiet god yet like! but hes getting there.

  • still a fuckin god

  • ugh me too

  • yeah how terrible would it be if someone were to experiment with music(sarcasm)

and this isn't even that experimental

  • you obviously dont get my point.

a lot of people expirement, but there is a point were it just isn't pleasing. music is pleasure, and that is a rule that should not be broken

  • i think when they record it properly it will sound a lot better, for me this was pleasurable but its subjective

and i think music is more about personal expression than how much pleasure it brings someone

  • and as for following the crowd, this is one thing i dont do, i hate it.

  • Well i think hating every Arctic Monkeys song that is depressing is a bit narrow minded really. I mean, depressing songs as a whole are more reaslistic in a sense. 505 and do me a favour are some of the best songs on that album.

  • i dont hate them, i just dont listen ;)

  • damn right :)

  • people who say that slow songs in a minor key are depressing just know nothing about music

songs dont have to be fast and upbeat all the time

whatever music arctic monkeys make is sick, fact

  • You just said it right there mate.

  • Damn straight (:

  • you just defined everything i have been trying to say to many people haha

  • Word. Arctic monkeys are the shit.

  • well, minor keys are kinda sposed to be sad a lot of the time, so it isnt totally retarded

  • @thetennahs "Depressing song" doesn't mean "bad song" ! Or does it ?

  • the first album was probably my third best album of all time after first impressions of earth and is this it.

but the second album only brianstorm, teddy picker, fluorescent adolescent, balaclava, old yellow bricks and maybe d is for dangerous kept up with their brilliant sound.

other song on the second album were dull and depressing and did not involve enough music to catch your attention. 'do me a favour' was quite bad as was this house is a circus

  • Do me a favour? The depressing songs in the album, in any album don't make it bad, that is just narrow minded. Do me a favour was one of the best songs in the album, even the band members said that. Some people just follow the crowd and say the best songs are the ones released as singgles. The depressing songs don't in any way show that the arctic monkeys are disimproving, it shows that they are maturing. Musically.

  • thats a fair comment, but the only thing i am thinking is the first album had none of these songs (and i loved every song on the album) then the second album had a few which i didnt enjoy. im just hoping the third album does contain some tracks which arent like this, because thats the reason i like arctic monkeys,

they are still decent songs but i prefer the others a lot more.

i didnt mean they were disimproving :)

  • you are seriously in the minority mate. the entire album looks to be like this so i say save yourself the price of an album and just go fuck off.

  • So you want me to fuck off and not buy the album as opposed to not fucking off and buying the album? And because I have a different opinion to you musically you think i should fuck off?

And since when has having a musical taste in the minority been a bad thing? the majority of people these days listen to dance shite and rap about having bling and bitches, i think i prefer being in the minority. And i am not in the minority, from what I have seen people wither love or hate with new stuff.

  • its just your whining ablut how they've gone to dark for you when almost everyone posting comments actually likes how they've changed so you should save yourself wasting your money on the album because your obviously not going to enjoy it as most of the songs from what i can tell are not like old arctic monkeys. if good bands dont change and become better then who will? there's only so many bar chords you can play.

  • I may be in the minority but I like the second album way more than the first. Their darker sound gives them a far more original style and energy. They are continuing to experiment in a unique way that goes darker than most indie rock bands would ever dare go. Personally I wouldn't want them to sound like The Hives meets the Strokes forever, I'm glad they're moving forward.

  • thank fuck for some one who appreciates decent interesting music. first album was fantastic, but very dirivative, and tbh only the lyrics were new or interesting. 2nd half of 2nd album was so cool. i hope more like it on 3rd :)

  • matt helders is a god-like drummer.

  • best of the new songs ive head... mc turner on the mic

  • lol ye whatever pff.

  • had a look at your page lol ill say no more-gay.

  • For a guy whose interests include women, drinking and gambling and " fottball " I will reserve my judgement of you. Even if I was gay, the insult coming from someone like you would be worthless.

  • dotsy is right. all the new tracks i could hear are meanless i don't like them

  • Thats only your opinion that noboddy gives a fuck about dick head, the 1st album was what made them ye stupid cunt ye know nothing.

  • Calm down please. The first album made them but that won them their chav scobe fan base like you i am guessing. The first album was more easy listening, so i am guessing that is what you are into, not too complicated on the lyrics, singing about going to clubs and getting smashed. The second album deals with deeper stuff, has more complex music and more poetic lyrics. If it is too complicated for you that is fine, whatever floats your boat boy.

  • 1st album good, 2nd SHIT, this just sounds depressing and tuneless.

  • Thats only your opinion. And the second album was much better than the first.

  • i know it may be hard, after hearing some pretty medioca snippets from the album, but u've gotta have faith in those 4 sexy boys.!

they are- in my books- the best band in the world.

  • Ah now, i wouldn't go judging the quality of the band on how much you find them attractive. There are some amazing bands out there that are in better than arctic monkeys, but i am sure AM will be up there as the best in years to come. these boys are only just coming out of their shell.

  • haha, ur right i do sound lyk some stupid person that just loves them because they happen 2 be attractive. but thats really not how i meant it.

as a person who loves bands like silversun pickups and muse, the looks of members isn't what makes me like the band.

i am a HUGE fan of the AM's. and i suppose i'm just sick of waiting for some new tracks.

  • The Second album is were they got their own distinct sound. The first album is great, but it's really nothing that different than what's out there. It's because of "Favorite Worst Nightmare" that no other band can be compared to the Arctic Monkeys. That's why I'm excited for "Humbug", to hear again how their Sound has changed.

  • I like both albums, I really love Arctic Monkeys, but I just think the second album is far more superior than the first. The first is a really good album though that said, but some songs seem a bit unfinished on it. I'd like if their new album was more like their second.

  • hmm. Their sound has definitely changed. For the better? i don't know. That will be judged when the new album comes out I suppose.

I will really miss the original Arctic Monkeys sound and I will admit that I am one of those people who isn't really ready for the change in their music....

but hey, maybe I will end up really loving the new sound.

  • well does alex turner do drugs????

  • Why don't you ask him?

  • jesus, this isn't arctic monkeys.. they're just druggies now i hope all their new songs arent like this :(

  • Just because they are doing something other than what caused their initial hype does not mean they are druggies. People like you are so afraid of something different and not creative enough to try something original and different. Just because their music is like this does not make them druggies, and even if they are it is none of your business and should not impact on you judgement of their music which i am really starting to enjoy.

  • wat u mean druggies?

  • as in he thinks they do drugs.

  • In fairness, I thought their second album was a lot better than their first. Maybe it's just me but it's my favourite album (bar every Muse album).

  • Very good band there.

  • Their second album was DEFINATELY not better than their first. Are you on crack mate?

  • Just because their second album doen't comply as much to the 2 - dimensional crappy indie stereotype as much as their first doesn't mean it isn't as good. Their second album is much more musically and lyrically talented.

  • The second album is far superior to the first. o_O

  • I'm gonna get flamed like fuck for this comment, but while the Arctic Monkeys first album was exceptionally well written, it was pretty much nothing that hasn't been done before(The Strokes on "Is This It?" are probably the only band i've heard pull that sound off better than the Monkeys).

I'm personally glad to hear they're experimenting, cos if they kept firing out jangly indie rock songs (FWN, for all it's funky sounds, was still a pretty generic indie rock album), it'd start to sound tired.

  • brilliant! cant wait for new album!!!!! :) thanks for addin it

  • No probs. Hope to add some of the recoreded songs as well so subscribe if you want.

  • i feel the psychedelia coming

  • So do I, and I bloody well like it.

  • Lets be honest were all arctic monkeys fans and we all loved the first album. but you have to admit they cant keep up that style for ever and as they get older and into differnt things there going to want to play different and harder music as there talents get better. in my opinion the second album was just as good as the second but different styles and its nice to see different sounds i think x

  • how stupid...arctic monkeys first album was no way their most musically talented album..its easy music to play..their new stuff and stuff off favourite worst nightmare is much better and much more musically talented..1st album was a sick album like but 2nd was trippier, better, harder and better polished and put together!

  • All true. This stuff is much more complex.

  • FUCK!

I Love The Arctic Monkeys And Their First Album Is BY FAR Their Most Musically Talented...

I Really Hoped They Would Leave Behind This Trippy Music They're Making But I Guess They're Diving Even Further Into It From What I Can Hear...

    It's A Crying Shame I Tell You...

  • If you know music then you know their first album is actually BY FAR their least musically talented album... I mean seriously listen to this stuff, it's so complicated, it kinda makes 'whatever you say I am thats what I'm not' seem like a genre specific album made by some 17-year-old lads. Dont get me wrong tho, it is still one amazing album. Scoob505 said it best, its way more original.

  • nahh

the first album is better than the second but not because of musical talent or anything

its better because it has more ... soul and meaning behind it, its written before they were famous and it just has a great charm about it. its basically about sheffield....

the second album is far more original and "musically talented" but not as special simply because it isnt really ABOUT anything new or original...

i probably make NO sense but ohwell :)

  • this guy know what he's talkin about

  • you ar sooooright

  • I agree completely.

  • I wasn't sure about the second album when I first heard it. I'm sure I'll end up loving this album too.

  • Not the same as the old albums. I agree with you sergiotheswank :):(:(

  • Bands change, bands evolve. I much prefer a change to them staying the say. they sounds much more original and exotic than they ever have and I love it.

  • last shadow puppets has changed alex.

  • certainly has. And the fact the producer of the new album is the lead singer of Queens of the Stone Age.

  • but he is still Alex we all love

  • In Alex we trust. Listen guys, I like the sound of the new album, anyone who doesn't can go stuff it.

  • oh. some one else

  • Actually Alex Turner created the Last Shadow Puppets. You can't change into something you created, therefore he has always been that way and has had this other side to him. so thank Alex and the feckin Universe because we all have beautiful music to enjoy.

  • well to be fair it was a joint effort by miles and alex. but what i meant was having that time away from arctic monkeys has changed his style.

  • anyone have an idea when there albunm is due out

  • Summer. They have recorded it all at this stage.

  • The finished recording a few weeks back. Its been mastered now and will be released before they headline Reading and Leeds woop!!!

  • august apparantly i cant fucking wait.

  • Give me a message if anybody wants some of the new tracks on mp3. :)

  • There's nothing CLEAN about this version, it's actually pretty waxy.

  • Nice metaphor there. Compared to any other version I have heard this is pretty " CLEAN"

  • anyone know if i can get an mp3 of this anywhere?

  • limewire? frostwire?

  • I am so drunk right now I forget...hype ,machine i tink

  • That song was amzing live in New Zeland..they rocked! Hope they come back after they release the album!

  • I would love to have been there

  • It was absolutely amazing...i rally want Last Shadow Puppets to play in Nz...but I don't know what the chances of that are...

  • You'd never know mate, maybe some day they will play New Zealand or Australia.

  • I'll keep my fingers crossed...if they play Oz i'm so flying over haha

  • Anybody know the release date?

  • It will be over the summer, not sure exactly when.

  • Thanks for posting these, they're the cleanest quality I've found :)

  • No probs mate ;)

  • loving these new songs thanx so much for putting them up ^_^

  • no probs, I am more than glad to share.

  • is that miles kane on stage with them?

  • yup yup

  • 2:04 on just gets me every time. The studio version is going to be unreal.

  • Their new album sounds EPIC. Their sound is so much more dynamic now, the keyboard kind of brings it all together.

  • woah how much of it have you heared?

  • at least a third of it. i also know it will be more psychadelic and heavy. They didn't sell out ;)

  • i love the new tunes and of course all the legendary old ones but personally i think its '' fuck hommes off'' and just go the way that suits them even tho i'm loving these new tunes

  • true, Hommes should let them evolve themselves. These songs sound good though.

  • How have you heard a third of the album? are you reffering to the 4 new songs on youtube?

  • not just the 4 new ones, wagon on the way to the stripey circus, terror pocket and some others. Look it up on wikipedia. oh ya! and sandtrap.
