  • You guys did such an awesome job!

  • SO COOL THAKS

  • @WillHurricane Good for you buddy.

  • I MISS THE OLD HAUNTED MANSION

  • @kklolgirl This is the spirit we wish to preserve at the Haunted Mansion Haunt. Bringing back the scarier and classic elements of the attraction for people to enjoy on Halloween weekend.

  • @DisneyInnoVader We are located on millwood rd. in trabuco canyon, ca 92679

  • If you look up when the lightning struck (0:23) you can see a body hung from the ceiling! On the ride, not in the video.

  • Our myspace page has changed addresses. It's now hauntedmansionhaunt.

  • Why did you use the body of the Corpse Bride to do little leota?

  • nice mix of phantom manor and the orignal haunted mansion

  • Hello, did this take place in Wagon Wheel? If so, we are neighbors, will you do it again this Halloween?

  • Hello, did this take place in Wagon Wheel? If so, we are neighbors, will you do it again this Halloween?

  • dang.. that's good. one question why does the Haunted Mansion have a garage? just wanna know

  • @popcornscience3 To park the hearses!

  • @klpeekl2000 heh. good one

  • @klpeekl2000 Thats a great Halloween display. I would've loved to come see it, if only you lived near, but I left California. Halloween's no fun when you don't have kids or a budget. You do it before Halloween? So what do you or your friends do during Halloween? Is equilibrium1736 one of your friends doing this every year? His comment 2yrs ago makes it sound like he had a part in this.

  • @Miracle490d I'm actually the creator of this whole event and it's my home. :)

  • great, now do Tower of terror XD

  • @cngowens If only we had that kind of budget.

  • @klpeekl2000 You scanned through like a summary which works fine since I found others more complete, but yours had a really great close up on the singing heads. Thanks for that detail.

  • WTF is this at somebody's house ?

  • this is only scary to 2 year olds

  • Nice!

  • skarry

  • there's nothing scary here right. . :d im scared of knotts scary farm six flags; and all that stuff.

  • It's not meant to be scary.

  • Well in this video it shows our first year attempting this. We have increased our actors and scare tactics significantly since our debut. Our videos don't really show off our actors, usually because we are too busy during peak times to get footage. We believe in balance, our attraction is a lot scarier than the real Haunted Mansion but we try to stay genuine to the attractions roots. There is absolutely no gore or blood, just good old scares by our actors.

  • @JOECAROLNICKAILEEN I loved Knotts Scary Farm, but that wasn't scary either. The headless horseman was never close or real enough. Maybe if a worker in costume startled you, but Knotts was really nothing.

  • @JOECAROLNICKAILEEN I can't believe you're scared of Knotts Scary Farm. Unless they changed it a lot over the years, all they used to do was have workers dress up and pop out to scare you in a dark maze and they had the headless horseman far in the distance when you rode the stage coach. There really wasn't much else different. But thats been decades ago. Has it really changed a lot or does it take that little to scare you?

  • We have 2009 video and pictures posted on our myspace:

  • Wow that was awsome. You really captured the feeling. I would love to see this myself. Where did the props come from? Did you ask Disney or something, because that was amazing, A+ work. Where are you located? Great job.

  • wow!..the joy of Halloween. A Haunted house experience

is the best!...if you are into it, Definitely check this out!

it's a movie on you tube called, ENTER DOMAIN HOUSE .

    it's a must see,creepy and scary,as well as haunting.

    "SEE FOR YOURSELF!"...{a ghost}

  • Wow... the people who put this on every year are awsome!!

From the vid I saw.... it really catches the feeling of the real mansion.... congrats

I have my little version of it every halloween... but I do Haunted Mansion Holiday... its not as pro as yours.... but it has been getting better over the years

  • if I may ask, where did you get the footage for your madame and little leotas? are they the ones from Youtube? They look great - like they are stabilized and smoothed.

  • Thankfully no, they are not from youtube. They are dvd quality with heavy editing. It's a key ingredient on getting our projections looking like the real thing.

  • It was all projection. the only thing that was a "tv" was little leota at the end, that was a modified computer monitor.

  • I hear Melanie Ravenswood`s Songs 0:45 Did u base this off Phantom Manor 2

  • We have some Phantom Manor elements in the audio, however it's mainly Haunted Mansion.

  • Happy Birthday HM Sorry I can`t be there 4 u Damn u Clinton .I still love u. I`ll be there on ur next on I promise tell every1 There awsome Tell Constance I don`t think she`s evil sorry had 2 get that off my cheast Guess wat my Fav part was

  • I'm having a haunted mansion birthday jamboree!! :D Do you have any recomendations??? How did you do the bride and the singing busts? Thanks.

  • The faces are projections. You sculpt or make a body or heads. There heads are blank. The only thing that's detailed is everything under the head. You pre record your face or whatever than you put it in a projector. Than you move around the projector or body/head to get the right size of the face on the sculpture. :)

  • Wow, what an awesome job on the whole setup. I'm amazed at the Leto orb re-creation. Perfect job. Definitely one of the best haunted house walk-thrus I've seen. At first, when I saw your title for the film, I thought it was a video of the actual walkthrough of the ride. Wasn't until I saw the bride that it hit me that I wasn't seeing the real one.

  • that was hot

  • ...I am in complete awe...

How much did all this cost to make, if you don't mind my asking?

  • im pretty sure our budget is nearing 10,000. This is the video from 2005, check out our video from last year! it's even better :p

  • cool job. I like the foyer room. where did you get the various props like the leota orb and the projections for it as well as the singing busts?

  • Our 2008 walk through video is coming soon!

  • if u looked up u would see a hanging body

  • Bravo! Bravo! Very amazing, indeed.

  • This is really cool!! How did you guys get all this stuff? it is soo elaborate and well done!! well done guys!!!

  • I am an artist in Pa w/ a Hallowes_eve Birthday so this is my passion. I have a friend in florida and he sais i could go to work there to make you murals and scenes but If I could work in the haunted house I have a huge open minded imagination.Tell Mickey !! I would even move from the pa mts if I knew I could get employment there.

  • Just wanted to let everyone know we are accepting volunteers for scaring and greeting guests. Every year we get larger, more complex, and more popular. We would love to invite some responsible people with a true passion for the Haunted Mansion to come out and add to the show. If you have a costume we would love to see it. Thanks!

  • @equilibrium1736 Where are you guys at?! I'd love to help if you're close enough!

  • @equilibrium1736 sounds fun ill give it a shot

  • This is brilliant! It's just amazing. Where on earth did you get the voice overs?? I'm jealous!

  • where did u get all this stuff

  • How did you get the props?

  • first i dod not bleive my friend but now i'm scared

  • Nooooo. That is such an iconic scene at any Disney park. It will stay for good, of coarse that doesn't mean it wont change, i mean 10 years ago who would have thought leota would float around the room.

  • How did this person get to walk through the haunted mansion? I see other posts and is this something people can actually do?

  • We are just a bunch of fans of the Haunted Mansion, we built our own version of the haunted mansion at my frinds house. Seeing that you thought it was the actual haunted mansion is the best compliment we could get. :)

  • Thank you for the compliment! Drop by our house on Halloween and you can experience it for yourself. :)

The information you need is on our myspace link, top right corner. Thanks again!

  • Georgia: Originally, the Mansion was a walk-through until it became a traditional dark ride.

  • wow

where did you get the sphere for madame leotas crystal ball? i've been looking for something i can use but the closest thing is bying one of those already made ones that move and talk but it would be a waste of 40 dollars just for the plastic bubble :S

  • Is your head shaking or is it shifting positions slightly? Our footage does change position a little from scene to scene but when you implement the effect it is not nearly as noticable. Disney has this issue too if you look very closely in the Haunted Mansion. Oh and btw use a regular projector to achieve the effect, I wouldn't try making it rear projection. Disney doesn't use this method in the HM anymore.

  • It's not possible to do a rear projection with leota, well you could, but the effect would be extremely expensive and it wouldn't be that great.

  • that was so kool!

  • Yeah we bought 3 off ebay. They were about a 100 bucks for all 3. You can watch them in action by clicking on the video response above. :)

  • We have some, We did that last year and we bought expensive ones, and it came out perfect, There is a video of them on the Making of the 2007 Haunted Mansion Walkthrough video.

  • tbh ... i love haunted mansion ... although everythime i go into the grave yard bit.. i wish they updated the music and anomatronics abit its so dated... i now like phantom mannor best... even with the updates!

  • do you have one for 2007?

  • We might, We definitely have footage of the event, it's just a matter of getting it. Which sucks because there were TONS of enhancements made.

  • aww, well can you let me know if you do? i really wanna see it.

  • We will be definitely making a new video for 2008. Check out our myspace for some new enhancements. :)

  • Wow, great job on Madame Leota and the Clock

  • The ghost host and Disney himself would be proud.

  • Thats what we aimed for :)

  • Thank you!! That is what keeps us going. Keep an eye out for a newly updated video this year. Made quite a few enhancements since 2006. :)

  • OK, I will NOT be competing with you, since I live in Florida!

I m planning a "Haunted Mansion" this coming Halloween.

So, can you please share your secret source for the Madame Leota video? And what about the "grim Grinning Ghosts"?

Also, did u use white screens for your projectors?

  • where did you get the faces?

  • Very, very cool tribute to the Mansion. Well done.

  • do u have the grim grinning ghosts footage? do u think you could give it to me.

  • I didn't even know this was a fake ride till the vid ended and I saw the discription.Very well done~!

  • I'm so broke lol. Just spent about 1,500 dollars over a period of four months for props and upgrades.

  • I also forgot to mention we have some amazing new additions this year!

  • In total, we are at about 6,500 dollars. That is counting THIS year which has lots of new effects not seen in this video. You will see them in the updated video which should come out sometime early next month.

  • Actually it is in Trabuco Canyon not Trabuco Hills.

    Millwood Rd.

    Trabuco Canyon CA, 92679

  • haha yeah the peppers ghost efect never really works on madame leota :P i use a bunch of home made lcd projectors also xD any hints on anything i can use better than a wig head? my local sallys beuty supply has them but with flat faces and it makes my leota look kinda crappy xD

  • We didn't use the peppers ghost effect. Our effect is nearly Identical to Disneyland. Because our face that we are projecting on, is soo similar to the origional face that is Leota at Disneyland.

  • Did you visit the Haunted Mansion in Orland? It's so scary! It was so scary, I got scared and even cried!!

  • We live out in California so we visit the original at Disneyland.

  • That looks awesome! How did you do all that stuff?

  • Just hard work, and lots of time.

  • where did u find the projections for the heads?

  • They float around the internet...That's probably where they got them...

  • That is a great job! I was wondering if you can give me some tips of making my own haunted mansion holiday walkthrough, because I'm making one for this year's halloween.

  • Lots of Projectors and Speakers lol. Oh and Utilize your resources.

  • Just go to your local Hardware store and think of materials you can use for a project and go for it. Use your imagination and everything will work out.

  • Hopefully Disney doesn't charge you with copyright infringement or anything. I know they can be sticklers about that type of thing. They sued a bar owner for having the image of Goofy on the outside of the establishment. They wanted several million dollars.....I forget the exact amount, though.

  • It would be one thing if we charged our guests to enter but we don't. We spend on average of 1200 dollars a year out of our own pockets and never ask for anything in return but happy faces. It quite frankly would be a waste of Disney's time to do such a thing, picking on their own fans that support them in the first place.

  • If anything they get free advertising from this and if they told me to stop I wouldn't even hesitate. Could have just as easily been doing something scary and less restrictive but I don't because we love the Haunted Mansion and everything it represents.

  • this is the one in Disneyland.....right...?

  • Well it could be any one, but it's about 20 minutes from Disneyland so yeah you can say so. It's my friends back yard.

  • LOL thanks; one can dream right. Year by year it gets better and would hope that one day we can actually say we have even gotten close to the real Haunted Mansion.

  • Wow thats awesome.. i wouldve been scared to death. yes, i can watch scary movies, but i cant go into a haunted house. i know. lol. im stupid.but yeah, i can barely see anything, but it looks and sound awesme.

  • Myspace Page Hauntedmansionattraction

  • How the hell did you do the Leota effects?

  • I think they took something simular to a styrofoam wig head (like the ones in a barber shop) and projected the face on it like a projection screen...

  • Nope. lol, we did the same exact thing disney does in their haunted mansions.

  • That's awesome! Especially loved Leota's crystal ball effect!

  • Pretty good considering your lack of resources. Don't listen to those other negative people.

  • really good walkthrough! where do they get the soundtrack with the dialogue?

  • It's a CD you can buy at Disneyland! It's called "Haunted Mansion's 30th Anniversary" and it includes all the noises in this Vid, even the door noises!

    Sorry, i'm a Disney nut...owo;;

  • Great work

  • Yeah, well considering that the person doing this is just the son of the house using his spare money I think it came out pretty good. The electronic equipment alone is like 4 grand. We had to get a lot of the technology first before we could splurge on a ton of hollywood props.

  • hey that's really cool 8D

    until next time

    ~Tsumeato~

  • What's up with the Stretching Gallery ceiling? Is that actually a room, or just a prop for the sake of making a Haunted Mansion video? I can't see it too well. :S

Otherwise, AWESOME stuff. Do they still sell those staring busts, or did you make them yourself?

  • It is an enclosed room with a replica of the actual ceiling at Disneyland. It goes up and down syncronized to the soundtrack. There are fog effects, strobes, and black lighting. I am hoping to actually add a new special effect to the stretching room this year. My main goal is to spend my funds on props this year.

  • Exactly what we are doing. This year we are going ALL OUT in purchasing props and ect...

  • HEY!! You stole my stretching room music idea!

  • i donno skellington, we've been doin this show for years and years.

  • Yeah we have been using that soundtrack for 6 years now. I devised this when we first developed our streching elevator.

  • my computer messed up and posted my other comment before i got finished. any ways! I wanna try it this year but people will probably wonder why i have a fishbowl on my head and a table on my shoulders. lol.

  • Nicely done! Where did you guys get the projection footage from the singing busts, Madame Leota, and Little Leota?

Glad to hear you're in the area -- are you guys only "open for business" on Halloween night, or do you let people tour on multiple nights in October?

  • We were open the 29th through the 31st. I wasnt the one who got them, it was my friend and i believed it was from a disney DVD, not sure which.

  • Cool! Can you give out an address so people who are within range of Trabuco Hills don't have to miss out this year? Also, will be VERY interested if you can find out which DVD the projections are on. They don't appear to be on the H.M. movie or Disneyland Happiest Homecoming on Earth DVDs that I have, and Googling turned up nothing. I did find very low-res versions of 3 of the 5 busts and a partial clip of Madame Leota at the DoomBuggies site, but would love to have good-quality versions of all.

  • The address is 28322 Millwood Road

    Trabuco Canyon CA 92679

  • Sweet, thanks! Maybe when it rolls around to October again you can post here and let us know what dates you're going to be open this year.

  • All your questions can be answered on myspace by going to the hauntedmansionattraction page.

  • Excellent -- thanks -- I'll subscribe to that page. It didn't actually answer all my questions, though. As I asked above, where did you guys get the Leota and singing busts projection footage? I want to own a copy of that, if it's available somewhere.

Also, which city and ZIP are correct, the one above or the one on the MySpace page?

Thanks in advance -- looking forward to this October.

  • Well the place I got it doesn't even offer it anymore due to everyone using it. You also must understand my position when I say that I cannot give my videos away to protect my events unique ability to replicate the effects at the Haunted Mansion. I hope you understand.

  • Hmm, okay. Well, I wouldn't be competing with your event -- I'm always too busy with my costumes, with attending Halloweenized theme parks, etc. to do a haunt. Plus I live in an apartment, and it would be impossible to do one at my parents' house. Can you at least say where you got it back when it _was_ available? Sounds like it was a "fan" source, rather than a Disney DVD, as Kyle was thinking?

  • (Sorry for the duplicate comment. With YouTube's recent problems it's difficult to tell when a comment has gotten thrown away by the system vs. just being slow in showing up.)

  • Contact me on my myspace and we will talk in private about it. Thanks. :)

  • Scary ^.^ and COOL LOVED it :-) :-)

  • Awesome-ness! Good job Kyle! Be prepared for next year, for it will own all prior.

  • That was awesome!! I had a ton of fun setting that up. Too bad the video didn't do the event justice since the lighting was so dark for the camera.

  • You put this together pretty well. I'm impressed.
