I was lucky enough to be there for friday paractise and the race sunday. Stewart dumped his new model Tyrell at druids in afternoon practice and stalked off like it was all the cars fault. Come race my impression was Icxx was just giving driving lessons to Fittipaldi and Stewart. Icxx split the Ferraris oil tank around miday and Stewart and Emmo traded the lead acouple of times till Emmo took it for good right near the end Exciting race But... I thought Icxx lost more than Emmo won it
Great stuff. I was there that day - hard to believe it was 38 years ago as I write. Such a shame that the GP never went back to Brands after 1986. A great circuit with one of the most challenging corners on any circuit anywhere in Paddock Hill Bend.
@jonnymv94 Indeed. I used to love standing at Clearways and can clearly remember that first lap excitement as the cars disappeared onto the GP loop and you waited with baited breath for them to reappear under the bridge. You could here the noise growing as they came through Stirlings and then accelerated toward Clearways in a crescendo of noise.

My God totally epic! Brands is/was the best track on earth. So much variation. A drivers track.
