  • According to ancient alien theorists, if these are depictions of Annunaki (those who from heaven came) or Nephilim (the fallen) then at some point our ancestors were involved in some hard core beastiality. Just putting it out there.

  • @FreestyleBoy2010 Soooo mr smart ass. Where do i go to see whatever your are talking about? World is a big place.

  • No one's making me watch TV

  • Looking at the small-headed figurines I thought they looked like HAT STANDS, I collect vintage hats & recognize the shape. I think-maybe-special, religious masks were placed on them, now lost to history.

  • i know that last picture, hes a dick head.

  • listen we all know americans europeans are being brain washed to be distracted by television work anything that keeps them busy. most people need to wake up and start looking at all the symbolisum that is around us. and how the illiuminati's are the cause of all of this and the masons. were on to everything that's going on and when it's to late then hey people are warning people trying to save us from the government lies and cover up.

  • hmm the last image looks like a pen1s.

did ne 1 else see that?!

  • You're right. The statue is associated with male fertility.

  • @mia4mj i agree

  • Looking at the wings on those figures now I can see where the idea came from for artist to put wings on heavenly beings called angels. Why are angels always pictured as females when in the bible they are given men names?

  • Well, that's an interesting question. As you've said, there's an obvious reference to earlier texts and visual depictions of these winged beings. Maybe it depends on the copy you're reading. In any event, the question begs a deeper a look. Satan, however is called a fallen angel but there is no doubt he's a male.

Why not do some research and get back to us. I'll do some looking, too.

  • @starlight1946 'cause chicks with wings are hot.

  • is this the art work thats been stolen from iraq ? the UK have some aswell & iraq whats them back, they said they dont want copies they what the real deal

  • No, it is not. Most, if not all of these pieces have come from private collections.

No matter your ideology, these pieces have been preserved for all of us and are readily available. That's what's most important.

Regarding the unjust war on Iraq, what can a citizen of nation that commits an atrocity like this say? Sorry doesn't cut it. Sadly, maybe nothing will.

  • Exquisite,...

  • I gotta get there ... super slides, thanks.

    Happy holidays.

    Mel.

  • And happy holidays for you, Mel.

There is also a great show now through March titled, "Beyond Babylon" which is a real treat. The exhibit also contains many artifacts recovered from a bronze age shipwreck as well as many other incredible items. Go to the Met website for some photos.

  • Great slide show, they have a good collection. Thanks for sharing.
