Imagine a group as talented as the Beatles came along today, first the industry takes Paul for a few million bucks and produce a bunch of music-videos of him with girls dancing behind him, shaking their butt on his body... and he has to wear what they ask him to wear , then they take John, invest a few million on him to write songs for Lady Gaga and Justin Beiber, and you only feel him, just never see him.

I'm a Christian... I don't tell this to my family, but I don't think of myself as a 'Christian' so much as someone who willingly believes in a God... A God who put us on this earth not to wait for heaven, but to make the world a better place. Heaven comes later in life (the afterlife) I believe, and the point of life is not to waste (life) waiting for it in the afterlife. So many religious people are oblivious to this, so I can really understand where John is coming from. Beautiful song, btw :)

There was probably plenty of inane shit back then as well, just obviously terrible music isn't going to be preserved? It's not that music is 'getting worse', of course stuff like Kesha and Rebecca Black are terrible but that doesn't mean anyone is going to remember them in 40 years time. There is plenty of meaning present in music today, but GOOD music.
