  • Always liked the old Mausers ^___^ (but, I'm the kinda person who would rather have four $250 guns than one $1000 gun ^^; )

  • My brother has two of these, one has the extended barrel. I believe it's the artillary model. Needless to say, I always get gun envy when he shows them off.

  • what color is her neck?

  • @ermaslv44 I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that wasn't an insult.

  • @Panzerzimmerpflanze it wasnt D:

  • It's so cool!

  • just make custom 7.62mm load. theyre virtually the same size so i see no harm in that

  • I own a Bolo Mauser rebarrelled for the 9mm Luger round and it's a beauty. Shoots like a dream despite being beated up. Tough old girl.

Very nice shooting on your part too.

  • ... I have a gun license. What would a C96 Mauser cost in Eire or in the UK?

  • Couldn't tell ya - not in the UK. Most I've seen are in the $1000 and up range. $1000 is the lowest I've seen them, and it was rough.

  • P.S. I could probably just search wikipedia, but what's the deal with owning semi auto pistols in the UK? Or any pistols for that matter? It's a fair PITA isn't it?

  • ... it's a vice.

  • Can I get one here in Ireland?

  • Just to note: NEVER use 7.62x25 Tokerov in a C96, the high pressure loads of the round will blow the receiver and chamber apart and probably into the face of the shooter.

I have a C96, in 7.63 Mauser, and she is an absolute beauty. I can't wait until I can take her to the range and get a video of her in action.

  • Indeed, from what I've studied, the 7.62mm Tokarev is a much hotter load. But I also read that the 7.63mm Mauser can be compatible with a Tokarev TT-33 or any other communist-bloc handguns chambered for the 7.62x25mm cartridge.

  • Correct. As far as I understand, the round and cartridge are identical. You can swap a 7.62x25 Mauser and use it in the TT33 but not a 7.62x25 Tokerov in a C96.

I do not own a TT33 so I cannot confirm it on hand at this moment but that is what I have read on the subject.

  • @JagerSH3 More than likely, the barrel and chamber will remain intact. However the bolt stop is frequently beaten up on these handguns and even with the right ammo, a damaged bolt stop can fail and cause the whole bolt assembly to fly back into the shooter's face. There's not much metal preventing that bolt from continuing back so it's always a good idea to make sure it's in good condition.

  • @JagerSH3 is ur mauser an automatic or semi?

  • @JagerSH3 haha have you done it? most of the surplus stuff floating around was made for the PPSh so even in a CZ 52 its crazy (been there, done that). Definitely not something you'd put in a beaut like the C96, unless you want to lose an eye/waste $1000+

  • Nice vid!

Close... 7.63 mm Mauser, almost identical to 7.62 Tokarev (The Soviets based this cartridge on the Mauser cartridge)

I have a Bolo with two barrels (one in 9mm) and shoulder stock. The 7.63 barrel needs some work, the ramp doesn't allow the shells to feed properly!

  • I would love to fire and own a c96.

  • prety cool!!why you fix the rear sight to 300 yards?

  • Can't remember. Sadly, I don't own it, but I think the recoil was ramping up the rear sight every time she shot, because I remember having it end up at the full elevation after 10 fast supported shots... Very cool guns to see taken down. One screw in the whole darn thing, and it's in the grip.
