@danielabt Just a note, it wasn't for the fur industry. Their first generation of foxes to be tamed were taken from fur farms. They used the foxes as a process to study about domestication.
Is there any animal on earth more beautiful than a silver fox? They are really stunning. My two are tame with people they know but reticent with strangers.
You have two silver foxes? I must admit, I'm interested in them as a pet because they are cool and exotic, but I am a very responsible pet owner with time, money and resources required to take care of such a pet, and more importantly the love. Could you tell me, how does one adopt a silver fox, and in which country to do you live?
Mine came from a fur farm that was getting out of the business. Foxes are busy little animals and wonderful to watch. But there is a major STINK factor. Their urine smells like skunk. They can't help it; they LIKE the way they smell!
Google it, there is a website all about adopting silver foxes. It also has a lot of information you need. Google "Where can I get a Silver Fox as a pet?"
She wasn't so tame...most of these videos were taken of her when she was at least 6 years old. But she didnt start to really slow down until after the age of 10.
eins) whare do you live? becus if im understanding correctly silver foxers wer bred for cold wether. and i live in minnesota whare we are almost always clasified as desert in summer and always artic in winter. i dont think the summer wuld be good for a silver fox
zwie) how did u get a silver fox? in a pet store or a special place?
actually, the tamed silver fox is a almost exactly like a dog. I'm sure a silver fox would be fine living in the desert. you need to make sure they are legal in your state and that you have an exotic animal license if they are. Usually you can adopt or buy them online.
Do you have a large outdoor pen for her or is she allowed to just be free around the house??
