hi skorch i have a question: when something might flop in the future (which i think will never happen) are you going to quit, or are you going to keep making videos till things get better.
Maybe you heard maybe not, and maybe it's not in the spirit of the video, but you can downgrade your pistol skill, then start the game. It will be upgraded to trained automatically, but you'll get to keep the points.
It's over a decade old now, but I still cannot think of any FPS/RPG hybrid with the depth and innovation of Deus Ex. That's both awesome and sad at the same time. I never thought while first playing Deus Ex over ten years ago that it represented a height of gaming that future developers would not even attempt to exceed.

I've tried playing Deus Ex before, beat the first level, and after that just couldn't really get into it. Hopefully this will get me a little more inspired to try again. One odd thing I've noticed and read online is that there's quite a few very well hidden to references to Christianity/Catholicism in this game.

@gloopenstein try opening visual options(or something like that) and setting color depth to 32 bit, i did this when i was experiencing graphical issues, and try changing the other options as well, if its too dark try setting the brightness higher and some areas like vents are supposed to be dark, thats why u have a flashlight, press F12 to activate the flashlight.

I had a glitch where I started the game with 2 pistols and 2 shock batons. I couldn't unequip one or the other, so I dropped all four and picked 'em up again, and only had one of each. Same with medpacks, actually, but that wasn't as annoying because it didn't interfere w/ fighting.
love this game...replayed it enough to play every difficulty at least once. Always tried to spare the Unatco guys, but killed all the MJ12 troops, theres no way they couldnt know what they were doing...

You can get a sniper rifl efrom a soldier not too far into the mission, I find it much better to get the GEP gun since you can't get one of them at all here and the bots outside the statue are rough.
I'm still playing this and it's great! Definetly worth it even though the graphics might be considered quite poor. I've been trying to kill as few enemies as possible but it's hard due to the fact that there is almost never prod chargers, tranq darts or pepper cartridges .,,. Any tips where to find these?
well once the game goes on its hard to find pepper cartrages,tranq darts and prod chargers the easiest thing to do is enable cheats and spawn some prods,tranq darts and pepper cartrages

Rofl, fallout 3 is nothing like this game. Fallout this is absolutely shocking, can't be called a hybrid, too easy for a shooter, perfect to be called an abomination. Deus ex is the real deal. No shooter or hybrid can be compared to it, except SS2 and a handful of other games.
ya dancinginfernal is right. I've been playing video games since the original pong. And of all the junk out there over the past 2.5 decades, Deus Ex has been the best RPG I've ever played. Nothing has come close since.
Actually, you made a mis-statement RE when Deus Ex was released; it actually came out in 1999 - which is why there's a Game Of The Year 1999 edition, which came with the soundtrack on a seperate disk. So it's actually twice as old as you said it was.
forgot to mention I actually found 2 cheats for this game (accedentally) aparently restarting the game over again gives you duplicate items of what ever you had on hand. and if you finished the game and start a new one you get the items you had on hand at the time of finishing. I don't know if it was a bug for me or if it workls on all of them
if I remember you can actually decrease some of the starting stats for more points. I actually like to take heavy weapons, since a gep gun can take out robots and most locked objects. Have you tried just using a gep gun and not bothering with lock picks? I have no idea wich is more efficient, I shall see your videos to see.
Yes. You can downgrade your pistaols to untrained and you get more skill points BUT when you look to ingame menu, you see that pistols are again at trained, but you still have more skillpoints. :D

I had a similar glitch. It turns out the pirated copy i was using was to blame. I downloaded a new copy and it worked fine. *laughs* Go figure.

You can get a sniper rifl efrom a soldier not too far into the mission, I find it much better to get the GEP gun since you can't get one of them at all here and the bots outside the statue are rough.

I always downgrade the Trained level for pistol to Untrained and use the skill points to get both electronics and lockpicking, with computer skill.
Then depending on what type of game I wanna play I'll go for melee or rifle with the rest of the points.

I'm still playing this and it's great! Definetly worth it even though the graphics might be considered quite poor. I've been trying to kill as few enemies as possible but it's hard due to the fact that there is almost never prod chargers, tranq darts or pepper cartridges .,,. Any tips where to find these?

well once the game goes on its hard to find pepper cartrages,tranq darts and prod chargers the easiest thing to do is enable cheats and spawn some prods,tranq darts and pepper cartrages

For those who do not know, you can untrain your pistol skill in the beginning; it will still be trained when you start the game. You will have a bit extra skill points =)

Rofl, fallout 3 is nothing like this game. Fallout this is absolutely shocking, can't be called a hybrid, too easy for a shooter, perfect to be called an abomination. Deus ex is the real deal. No shooter or hybrid can be compared to it, except SS2 and a handful of other games.

ya dancinginfernal is right. I've been playing video games since the original pong. And of all the junk out there over the past 2.5 decades, Deus Ex has been the best RPG I've ever played. Nothing has come close since.

Actually, you made a mis-statement RE when Deus Ex was released; it actually came out in 1999 - which is why there's a Game Of The Year 1999 edition, which came with the soundtrack on a seperate disk. So it's actually twice as old as you said it was.

forgot to mention I actually found 2 cheats for this game (accedentally) aparently restarting the game over again gives you duplicate items of what ever you had on hand. and if you finished the game and start a new one you get the items you had on hand at the time of finishing. I don't know if it was a bug for me or if it workls on all of them

if I remember you can actually decrease some of the starting stats for more points. I actually like to take heavy weapons, since a gep gun can take out robots and most locked objects. Have you tried just using a gep gun and not bothering with lock picks? I have no idea wich is more efficient, I shall see your videos to see.

Yes. You can downgrade your pistaols to untrained and you get more skill points BUT when you look to ingame menu, you see that pistols are again at trained, but you still have more skillpoints. :D
