  • I remember during my younger years with Santa Fe Railway as a Throttle Jerker, the real thing has happened to me twice, the old Baldwin 4-8-4 Steamer in 1949 no deaths and a EMD F7 1958, this is something I never liked to see and the one in 1958 took the whole family's life the Conductor was in the cab, he later took his own life. I would like drivers to have to see these staged crashes before getting a license. Wonderful video of it.

  • That's an all to fimilliar scene here in Canton Michigan when those teens got killed in 2010 because they were trying to beat a train!

  • Hi again Rick from the UK! I don't know whether you're familiar with the original, British Top Gear program, or even with the American version on the History Network, which has similar humour, but you might be interested in the film they did or a British version of this, using a freewheeling class 31 locomotive at significantly higher speed. Search Youtube for Top Gear train crash or Top Gear Level Crossing and you should find it.

  • Did the peoples died?

  • Was there any damage to the locomotive?

  • @p42Amtrak83: Nope, hardly a scratch. :P

  • @owensri2 Did the train coupler go through the car door or did it go through the window.
