I was at Game 1 of the 1995 World Series. I was eight years old at the time. Was a great game. Glad the Braves finally won a World Series. Need to get back to that level.
Ugh if only John Hart could of put together a pitching staff that good. 95 was the tribes only good one. 1997 was a fluke for us to be there. Our lineup carried us. Wright and Nagy was about it (Assanmacher and Mesa as well). I still cant get over Atlanta's staff, just deadly.
The 1995 Braves was Jimmy Carter's 1976 presidential campaign. The 1996 Braves was Jimmy Carter's 1979 Presidential Campaign. Mark Wohlers and Steve Avery were Carter and Mondale, Fulton county fans were the Shah and Jim Leyritz was the Ayatollah.
I am a Yankee fan, but you cannot discredit what the Braves did throughout the 90's. They were just as dominant as the Yankees,Indians, or any other team. I started watching baseball around that time and truly appreciate what they were able to accomplish. Nice video, wish it were longer though.
Also remember that the Braves are the only team in ANY professional sport to hold 15 consecutive devision titles. Nobody else has ever come close to that... and they won't for a very long time.
Good point MALattin... I for one am happy that we are living in a Yankee Championship-free century... ahhh smell that fresh air! No Bronx trash to stink it up this century just yet.
I agree with ya that the Braves rock. But while it may be frustrating to us Braves fans that they only one 1 of 5 World Series' they took part in in the 90s, my only question to you is how many teams EVEN WENT to the World Series in the 90s? Oh, that's right, that would be ONE - the Braves. Go ahead, try to disagree and say the Yankees did - they DIDN'T - 1996, 1998, 1999, and 2000 (if you're like me and realize 2000 was NOT new millenium lol). Go Braves 2008!
Sadly this is the only time I saw a team of mine win a championship and I was only six so I didn't realize the impact of winning and my Cavs lost this year so its been 12 long years. It is fun to give Indians fans crap about '95 though
That is cool to know someone has the same two favorite professional sports. Although we are very good right now, I am very optomistic we will win another championship with the very Bravos and the Cavs will win a few before it's over for Bron Bron.
maddux, glavine, smoltz, avery!those where the days!and that's coming from a yankee diehard!maddux was my favorite!the braves should have at least another title!the braves got some good young talent right now with brian and jeff!chip is just a legend in my book!
Your goal in life: Get trained by Jeter, Giambi, George/Hank, and company while sucking off Rodriguez. It's funny how a lot of the former Yankees players were accused of taking steroids, cheating motherfuckers...
Dude, chill.I was just joking around.Sucks that you have to post mean shit like that.Does it really matter that much?
Let's set the record straight.Giambi is no real Yankee. He is a steroid -era bum.Jeter is a class act, and his attitude on and off the field further proves this point.A-Rod's numbers are awesome, but let's be realistic...he is NOT clutch.Wish Brosius was still around. Finally, The Steinbrenner family is a disgrace to the entire ream.
anybody know if there is a video of bob horner's 4 homer game????? GO YOU M.F. BRAVES!!!! top record in the NL bitches. World Series bound.

That huge payroll and the Yankees haven't been to the World Series (much less won one) since 2001.
The Yankees have choked worse than the Braves did in the 90s (minus 95).

yankees lost to the marlins i think in 2003.

1991 World Series was the best ever.
2 Cinderella teams.
7 Games
5 games decided by one run.
4 games into extra innings.
Winning team came from 3-2 deficit.
Almost no sloppy play by either team.
1-0 10 inning finale.

Ya but I still think the Braves should have won. The Twins played a little dirty.
