  • Keith green invented head banging.

  • God knows each man's heart. He is ever drawing people to Himself with a love that is far greater than anything we can comprehend. Salvation is between each man and his maker. Keith held for the Word of God which is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

  • Always amazing.

  • great music. God used him in a might way. And still is today!

  • Thank you Lord for our precious brother Keith Green.

  • @bballman do you mean 'legalism' do you mean Torah as listed in Psalm 1 with all the listed blessings?

    Also the minor 5th sounds @3:56 & 7:06

  • Wow! I remember this song 20 years ago, thank you for posting.

  • I imagine this debate has been cleared once or twice by now, but the debate between salvation by faith or salvation by works goes on - it was a major factor in the early opposition between the Catholic and Protestant churches. Put simply, individual verses by Paul and James can appear contradictory, but they're not in context. Salvation is by faith alone, but faith without works is an impossibility - the Holy Spirit won't come into a man's life and leave him unchanged.

  • "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:"

  • most of all i feel so very very convicted...its a beautiful thing...i cant help but cry so hard and want to make things right with the lord jesus...listen to what keith is saying its the truth... apply it... its not easy being a christian... i am so unworthy... but i know jesus still loves me..

  • He was a Man of God!!! He is truely missed. God Bless you Keith Green!!!

  • @freedomcalling Thanks for your gracious comments. I think we are saying the same thing a little differently. All works done outside Christ are in the words of Jesus, "Works of iniquity."

  • thank you 5to22a very much i was looking for this scripture.. it really helped... praise the lord... the lord jesus is so faithful...

  • The monum-bballman exchange here is, I think, worthwhile. With all due respect to bballman, I disagree with your critique. I DO believe that the saved and lost are differentiated between what "they did and didn't do". Would the Lord cloak it, and make it so shadowy? BOTH the distinguishing of works AND salvation by faith are true. If we have true faith, we will bear good fruit. Those two truths are not imcompatable. They compliment each other. Respectfully to you both, john

  • keith may be dead but,the message is still relevant today.

  • Even after Keith has been gone, the words and music that God gave him. Speak to us with great conviction for such a time as this.

  • This guy's coordination is unbelievable. I would love to be able to play like him.

  • thank-you my Father

  • im 17 and i heard this song when i was 6 my step dad had the cassette and he made me a copy this was always my favorite song and now i have a cd of all his songs

  • The key to that Scripture is not so much what the people "did and didn't do" - although that is certainly a part of it. It's "doing it unto Christ". Doing it unto yourself is the same as not doing it at all. Doing it for Christ - rather than for your own glory or enjoyment or reward - THAT is the difference. The "goats" did good things. But they didn't do them as unto the Lord. They did it for man. Not for the Lord.

  • @monum Thanks for your gracious response to my comments. It is unsettling how some have exalted Keith to almost deity after his passing. This is dangerous and Keith himself would have condemned it. He was a weak human like us all and God will continue to glorify His name through him. Keith's songs spur me to think on our great God!

  • My oldest son is named after his son who perished with him in the plane crash. My son is preparing to serve Christ in full time ministry and Keith was used of God in a big way in that. For those who would exalt Keith to the level of Christ, stop it! Keith would rebuke you himself! In Him, bballman.

  • @bballman Oh I agree with you and know about Keiths history and his sway to legalism at some point. For me this song is just a powerful message on what it means to follow Christ. As John wrote: "Whoever says he loves God but does not love his brother is a liar"

Thanks for your long and careful answer :)

  • @monum Yep, we all got to be careful of legalism.

  • @monum for almost every Keith Green video, I see someone commenting on his theology...what did he preach that was SO erroneous?

  • @ricplay7890 Not-OSAS which is not an error ;)

  • @bballman Nono, don't stop serving od as hard as you can!! Cause the Gathering is at the doors! The rapt is coming up!!

  • @bballman there may be a minority who are a little too zealous for Keith; but that man changed and affected a good many fellows. I, for one, love him dearly and hope to see another even half as gifted and filled by our Lord Jesus!!

  • @bballman My eldest son is also named Josiah... Sadly my next son died before he was delivered... All together I have lost 5 through miscarriage.. I often pray that Aaron Gabriel is up there "jamming" with Keith on the streets of gold now.. I also pray that the three of us will all be praising Yahweh & Yahushua together one day.

  • Now before anyone goes off on I and I get messages telling me how inappropriate my comments are let me tell you that Keith has and still is a major influence for Christ in my life.

  • At the risk of being labelled a heretic for even hinting at any criticism of Keith Green who some have elevated almost to a place of worship himself I point out these things. Keith was exposed to some very aberrant teaching in the form of Finniasim from early on and it was reflected in some of his songs and teaching.

  • @monum - Thanks for your question. It is bad theology in the sense that it mistakenly conveys the redeemed and lost are differentiated by "what they did and didn't do." Keith did not believe in salvation by works, let there is no doubt about that. There is a dichotomy between the sheep and goats in who "they did and didn't know" which in turn reveals the motivation for works or lack thereof.

  • @bballman in what sense bad theology? Theology is how someone would interpret the scripture while Keith only quoted scripture here...

  • @monum He was generalizing Keith. Great performance but has bad theology in general. I personally don't know because I wasn't even alive then. I don't think I was... Anyways, if he was indeed caught up in legalism, people turn away from Christianity with that type of attitude normally. God never wanted legalism. From day one he wanted us to simply enjoy his presence in the "Garden" but provided the opportunity of choice "the Tree of Good and Evil" because he wanted us to always have "choice."

  • @starrofsuns Read Ezekiel 36...and Titus 2:11 - 15. God guide us all and purify unto the good works He has prepared for us.

  • @5to22a I probably should have finished my thought process. I'm not saying that we shouldn't always strive to do the right thing. In fact the Holy Spirit is who nudges us when we do something wrong. There's a big difference though between people who have a stick up their arse and those who--man this is going to get into a far deeper conversation than I intended lol. Too tired. Amen though, I agree wholeheartedly with the scriptures. Always.

  • @starrofsuns I write this because I love you and because I am filth but He is pure:

James 1:26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.

Like myself, Keith found it harder to come to Christ because of the hypocrisy in the church. There was no fire of God and changed lifestyles and repentance. When we don't show the power of God's Spirit in repentance, we are bad ambassadors...

  • @monum

    Good point.

  • @bballman If your perfect theology causes me to do nothing to change then what good is it regardless of how perfect you think it is. But if my weak theology produces faith and compels me to change and follow Christ then give me weak theology. Since you didn't elaborate on what makes your theology greater than what Keith has demonstrated It appears your theology is dead and of no value. Your willingness to cause doubt in the accuracy of Keiths story is shameful.

  • @bballman Bahahaha

  • They stand, not "nailed to the cross". Don't believe the lie.

    Revelation 12:17, Revelation 14:12, Revelation 22:14

  • God gave this man an incredible talent and thank the Lord Jesus Christ he used it to bring so many to Christ. There was a special place in Heaven for him.

  • two keith green songs are the best christian songs I've ever heard, there is this one and his one about the lost son, what a story teller, truly inspired by God or I'm no judge.

  • What a great man of God! I know he has been one of my favorite Christian singers for many years. I was saddened when we lost this amazing and talented human beings. His messages and songs are so powerful!! I hope and pray to meet him one day in heaven! God I put my trust in you always!

  • I love him soooo much! :) He participated to my conversion! :)

  • When the Son of man comes, in all HIS Glory, and all the Holy angels with Him, then shall he sit on His glorious throne!

  • What a powerfull message! Keith is (mention the verb: IS), a combination of talents: speaker, musician, singer, actor... He gives life and heart to every piano he touches with his gifted fingers! Sometimes you think he will literally jump on the piano! He manages to transfer his fire for the Lord to us all! Bless the Lord for Keith and the fact that he is still among us....

  • one of my favorite songs from Keith. I put this in my favorites. Need to remind myself from time to time...

  • Great stuff!

  • ~ 3:22 as soon as Jesus commands to 'enter into your rest' - Keith's maddening chords are pounded like cathedral bells signaling the new freedom for the masses. Praise the Lord for the voice and the music, as well as their Message.

  • @Spyhunter81 WOW, that's EXACTLY what I thought at that point! This song is inspired of God Almighty Himself, I really believe so..

  • Loveeee!!!! This Song :D <3

    This song is awesomeee!!!

  • Its so awesome that he can calmy talk and quote scripture while playing this very very difficult song. What blessed talent!

  • Keith Green is the Christian music Billy Joel and Elton John rolled into one. Plus, just an amazing dude that loved to help people. I used to rock out to Rushing Wind and Grace By Which I Stand when I was a kid... Freakin' AWESOME songs to this day.

  • i'm sorry eightsix1414 but i think u missed the message of this video. it's not that we're all goats. it's a wakeup call for those who are goats to not just sit and think of them selfs. it's a video that tells us to love our neighbor. and i'm sorry if you've been to a church where there weren't any love, but know that there are many living churches that show the love of God everyday. churches filled with sheep that makes goats into sheep. Jesus IS love, so there should be a little in the church

  • This is why Christians are hypocrites. Because according to this video, we are all goats. All of us. Shame on us. Yet we see this and do nothing. That's why no one believes. There is no love in the church. NONE

  • @eightsix1414 May God help us, come to Christ look to Him!

  • Mad piano skills!

And he didn't ever learn to sight read!

  • Matthew 25:31-46 in song. These verses compel me to serve the Lord by serving the very least. Oh holy righteous Father forgive me for seeking my own pleasure rather than serving the poor and needy.

  • I grew up listening to Keith Green. I just love him!

  • judaism is the first religion to say that how you treat your fellow man is how you'll be judged by your god unlike previous religions that doctorine dictate judgment by sacrifice or servitude to the diety

  • but doesn't it make sense?

  • so you are doing what here? trying to convince me that there isn't a God?

  • People open your eyes, this is a reference from Mathew 25:31-46. Look it up.

  • @topologyrob ~ for him who has ears to hear :)

  • @topologyrob No, he's not real. Jesus is real. I don't fear His eternal wrath because His blood covers me and I don't have to fear hell. The only thing I fear the the loss of a strong relationship with God because of the stubborn sins in my life and I fear for those who are not covered by His blood because of there own unbelief.

  • @AshJesusFollower1 What makes you think Jesus as a current deity is more real than Neptune? Many ancient people would have taken issue with you, protesting your lack of belief in Neptune. Why are you so lacking in faith?

  • @topologyrob The one evidence I can give, outside the universe itself, is constant relationship with God. That in itself is the prove for me. I believed on faith and God answered with a relationship that is real. The relationship is beyond a feeling. I know what God is saying without words. Neptune can't do that.

  • @topologyrob

We all will be there to check that out... don't worry... some as sheep and others goats! All you got to know is that you need to repent yourself and be prepared! or Just ignore it and see what happens! I tell you that WILL HAPPEN! Wish you or not! It's written!

  • @topologyrob Still truth though. One day you will see He is real.

  • @gabo8907 maybe you'll be disappointed to find that Kali is real and you should have been worshipping her all along. How would you know?

  • @topologyrob I do believe because I have seen. It is a vision of God in a supernatural way. Don't have to believe me, but I do believe what Jesus said because its been revealed to me by the Holy Spirit. Faith is to believed. Everyone has the right to choose what they want to believe, but I have seen something else. Believe on what you want. At the end, the truth will be reveal. Until the end, then you will see the Truth.

  • @gabo8907 I met a lot of people in India who said the same thing about Kali

  • @topologyrob

For a Christian, the belief in God is inspired by God, not by some knowledge gained by their own efforts. Of course, you could always study the theology behind both beliefs, but in the end, the belief of a Christian is truly a personal one and if you're meant to go to heaven, the God of the bible will get you there. I'd also point out, logically speaking, that the existence of many "God choices" isn't evidence for the non-existence of a God, which is your real point, isn't it?

  • @XXXFirebird76XXX But how is that knowledge different from any other religious adherent's knowledge? The Kali worshipers I met in India were no less convinced than you through personal experience. The point I think about "god choices" is that, yes, it could indicate people intuiting towards a real thing, but it could also indicate something about human nature - the way our species' brain works.. The latter seems much more likely to me.

  • @topologyrob

If your looking to be convinced that Christianity is true from a secular perspective, you're actually working against the teachings of Christianity. No man can believe in the God without the help of God in Christian theology. But if you want to break down the religions anyway, you probably shouldn't start with how many people believe this or that. Study the theolgoy, philosophy and history behind each religion and go from their. A good place to start is with William Lane Craig.

  • @XXXFirebird76XXX William Lane Craig?! The man's a walking non-sequitur. My point is that Christian claims are not essentially different from unprovable, subjective viewpoints in other faith traditions - revelation is more readily explained by psychology than by the actual existence of big sky ghosts who know everything.

  • Thanks to this song, I gave my life to Jesus. I can't wait to meet Keith in heaven and thank him for his music! :)

  • @Geralt133 Thank God for this music. All glory to God...because all things are from Him, through Him and ALL praise must go to Him. Keith was the pencil and the Lord is the author. God keep Him and may we all praise Him together and sing together to Him in that glorious place. Much love, bro.

  • Priase to you JEsus, for your words shows your goodness, and fairness.!

  • AMAZING!!!

  • Keith Green.......I look forward to meeting you in Glory(Hope there is a street known as Praise Avenue where our mansions shall be) Just listening to Keith Greens songs like this one, brings back good memories of the 1980s when the Word of God was preached through music as it is i.e. without diluting. I treasure such good old meomories when the "Gospel was The Gospel" ie Being Born Again was Truely real and without hypocricy. May God indeed help the Church. Steve MoG, Kenya

  • 42BETWO. KG doesn't fail to balance anything. listen 2 the easter song. should feed your ying-yang theology of balance. what you're actually taking exception 2 is tmatt 25:41-46 not KG. goats go in2 eternal punishment. the sheep go 2 eternal life. faith w/out works is dead. we R saved by grace. does that absolve us from responsibility? have you forgotten the greatest commandments R2 love God and love one another. there is no tension between law and grace. grace was a fulfillment of the law.

  • my christian scriptures teacher showed me this and he is amazing

  • I love Keith Green! ...."Going to church doesn't make you a christian... any more than going to Mcdonalds makes you a hamburger" (!!!)

  • But... I don't even know what size you wear!!!

... one of the angels wanna go out and give Him a hamburger and a coke? lol!

  • Try playing this on the piano.... sometimes I swear that Keith Green is on something... he'd prolly say, "Jesus's love" or somethin like that, but to be able to play this, and TALK AT THE SAME TIME!!!

HE IS AMAZING!!! Praise God for him!

  • Keith affected my life, and and encouraged me to be strong in my faith.

  • Keith was a true man of God. His legacy...music that STILL has the same power & an army of believers that had their lives forever changed by it.

  • I couldn't agree more about Keith; but where the heck is this army you are talking about?

  • i am part of the Lords army

  • If so, you are part of a remnant of what's left of God's army today. Cumulatively speaking, a great and grand 'army'; today....

  • a funny, convicting song,

    my favorite kieth green song!

but it is sobering too many times were just too selfish as christians and non christians the problem now adays people live too selfish lives.

were so quick to judge people and havent for one second been willing to walk in the shoes.

  • This song always makes me squirm.

  • One of the angels want to go out and get the lord a hamburger,,LOL

  • His beard was really getting into Bob Ross territory at this point.

  • Yeah, but those my family not in Christ don't listen and realise that what under hand this song proclaims is the truth? They just kicked me out when I testified that I accepted Christ as my personal savior.

  • Keith Green is SO stinkin awesome! Can't wait to get to Heaven and meet him! I might not care then though... :)

  • What a great song!!! Listen closely to the words,it's true how he says people act but then when they get to God they will probobally make up excuses! Being a christian isn't going to church once a year and praying once a month. It's a much closer relationship.

  • I really admire his piano playing.

  • Seriously, I know.

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I saw him live a few times between 1979 and 1981. Each time was quite an experience. Sometimes we need God to break out the scrub brush and heavy soap and scour away the bad. God used Keith to trim and prune his garden. Some so-called 'Christians' did not quite understand Keith's calling and accused him of being too harsh. He should have kindly showed them the door and escorted them out of his life!!

  • Such truth-it's too easy to get caught up in life or even in focusing on other things from the Bible.

  • I remember being at youth camp when the news came through that Keith Greens plane went down. It was devastating. His music has ministered to me ever since. Thank you Keith for all you have done for the kingdom. Can't wait to shake your hand.

  • now ...

what will you do with this man

    His name is Jesus?

  • RIP GREEN

  • I love this song. Awesome piano!

  • he is sooo awesome! man! he can prophecy and play!

  • I love Keith's sarcasm in this song. And his passion, it's so amazing

  • You're so right...I can't say anymore.

  • I got saved listening to this song

  • @DesertOasis07 HOOOAAAH! I can see why. His songs are so spiritually powerful and driven.

  • MONUM good on you for posting this truely gr8 singer and christian.

  • I used to listen to this song all the time on my way to school back in 19 80 to 81. These were inspirational songs.....

    R I P Keith Green....

  • Definitely the best musical rendition of Jesus' words in Matthew's gospel, chapter 25. He was truly a gifted and authentic follower of Christ. Thanks so much for posting his music.

  • Keith green is my favorite

  • He spoke the Word. He skillfully used the piano to set the tone. I heard his name a month ago and looked it up on youtube, I am glad I did.

  • Definitely one of Keith's best songs ever. He was truly anointed by the Holy Spirit and a modern day prophet.

  • man there is time for you to be a sheep, but Jesus won't force Himself on you. just pay attention to what happens to the goats in the song and the scripture.

  • Actually Jesus commands everyone to repent...wether they like it or not.

  • yes He does, but He doesn't make the decision for you. if you want to be saved you can, but if you don't that is still your decision. unless you're a hyper-calvinist.

  • who are you talking to?

  • If you are just recognizing the need to repent and put faith in Jesus then I would agree with you. If you are advocating a synergistic decision of mans will cooperating with God then nobody would ever be saved. Nobody wants to be saved in their flesh that is. But by spirit and regeneration we do choose Jesus, however it says that he first chose us. This is not hyper-calvinism but biblical Christianity. Thank you for your response. I hope this was a helpful correction.

  • this is obvious that neither of us are going to change our minds on this, but i will be praying for you.

  • I know where you're coming from but I say this because of scripture and experience. When I was told it was all up to me to say yes or no to God I said yes but I was still unregenerate for 20 years. I lived in iniquity marveling at how wise I was to "choose Jesus". Then I encountered the doctrines of repentance and faith as the biblical call to salvation. After realizing how hard it was to turn from sin I realized that I needed God for all of my Salvation. This humbled me and God saved me.

  • This is true, but I still don't think that you can completely remove the human element from salvation. Humans can by know means save themselves as Scientology teaches, but whether it is because of His predestination or exhaustive foreknowledge God knows who will accept Him and who will not. This is all to say that yes God knows who wil accept Him but does not discriminate against those that won't. It is Hiswill that none should perish, but all should be saved.

  • Foreknowledge actually means more than to know the future. It means to actually plan the event in Acts 2:23. It is also used as a pass tense verb in Romans 8:29 in which it means to know a specific person in a special way. I am not sure what you mean by He does not discriminate against those who won't accept Him. As a good God He does not want people to continue in sin. But He did discriminate against Esau when he said he hated him in Romans 9:13. Read through Romans 8 & 9.

  • ...continued

can you produce a bible verse that shows an autonomous act of human will in Salvation? I can show you the opposite in John 1:12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,

13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. Are you born again by your will? I submit to you that if you received Him you were not according to this verse.

  • I fully agree with you. Our flesh does not want or will to accept Jesus. This is one of those things like the Trinity....hard to explain but true.

  • @l0rdkeithingt0n81 - I love what you are posting, but when you identify chapter: verse it automatically gets linked to the time of the video. For instance, when I click on the blue script 2:23 it will take straight to 'when were You a stanger, Lord?' ha ha - it's a built-in glitch!

  • truth. thank you. interesting we just talked about "true" repentance today in men's Bible study.

  • one of a kind that man! I would have loved to been in his presence, but i'm a Goat! Nevertheless he's the man.

  • bro its not too late!

  • Keith used to say: I only want to hang out with radical saints and radical sinners, the rest just messes me up...

Just like Jesus who would hang with the prostitutes, fornicators and taxcollectors and the simple man/woman who had more faith then the religious order in Israel.

Like thepokermyth says: it's not too late :)

  • So true, one of the best Bible verses has gotta be from Mark 2v15"While Jesus was having dinner at Levi's house, many tax collectors and "sinners" were eating with him and his disciples, for there were many who followed him. When the teachers of the law saw him eating with the "sinners" they asked "Why does he eat with tax collectors and 'sinners'?" On hearing this, Jesus said to them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

  • One of Gods craftmanships:) his purpose Gods message. Keith was and is still an awesome example to his 60's generation. oh how we could still use him today for our generation X. God Bless. mike p CA

  • Twenty five years later, I still miss Keith Green, too. If anything, his music and message has only grown more powerful with time. I look forward to meeting him in heaven.

  • i love keith green. this is one of my fav songs of his. :]

  • what a great video! i loved this song!

  • Thanx dude for this!!!! i feel so alive listen this praises!!!

  • Bless you for posting this! I miss Keith and look forward to seeing him There.
