My first game along with sonic 2 I have this game to thank for every other rpg I've played.

That being said

Step 1) get wand of lightning

Step 2) go to cave with red dragon in it

Step 3) start game with good gear and ~ lvl4 bwahahahahahahaha

This game is a piece of shit, wtf is up with the random hit patterns, if you hit them you are lucky.

@border205 It used the old D&D THAC0(To hit at armor class 0) system. At first level, yeah it's hard to hit but as you level up it gets easier, the fightings classes (Like Warrior and Dwarf) more so then the Magic Classes. It was much less certain then the D&D rules these days but hey, such is the way.

Just started an LP of Pool of Radiance. I'm going to watch this, too. I always wanted to play this whole game. I think maybe I only got to play it a little at a friend's house on Sega Channel.

i remember playing this when i was a kid now i still play it but on the computer hehe emulators for the win..anyway..i remember i ended up getting the king pissed at me some how and wouldnt let me back in the city :(

I remember renting this a long time ago. I also remember having trouble naming my characters.

The cart wouldn't save back then and I couldn't really get back into it, so this will be cool to watch.

This game is probalby my favorite rpg game. The music is awesome and gives the game much more atmosphere. Wonderful old school game. I actually figured out how to play the town theme on classic guitar. One day I will upload a video. Greets

You have the game running too fast. The music isn't supposed to play that quickly. You needed to change the emulator's frame rate settings.

Btw nice review/overview of the game. It's one of my favourites. Especially good for a first attempt!

Sometimes it can be easier to write a script or notes before reviewing, it's up to your own personal preference though. You seem to have a knack for it. Keep up the good work. ;)

Hm, well I know it was comming up loud it takes me several videos to gett the sound settings right but I never saw any speed issues...

as for note, it's not exactly a review of the game... it's an LP. I guess I could be more organized but pretty much I just ramble as I play. Just how I roll, sort-to-speak heh. Besides I couldn't script out so many ten minute pieces... 6-_-

There are speed issues, it's due to regional variations.

Assuming you're using the Fusion emulator; just set the country from USA to EUR and you'll certainly notice the difference. FPS (frames per second) change from 60 to 50 FPS.

It's a NSTC/PAL issue, I'm not sure which version is the correct intended play speed but there ya go. ;)

@moome1649 Yes get the emulator called 'gens+' and you can definitely get roms for it. I am playing it currently on the prior mentioned program.

I do by episode 3. first I remove the music and then a few episodes later I figure out how to get everything working. I am learning as I go :)

My mic is still 'eh' but it's much better
