  • In a few months, I might be going the freelance route with the part time job I have in college. That way, I at least have a steady income while bringing more from freelancing. And I have health insurance under my parents for another 3 years. But for me, it sounds like something that should lead to a full time job.

  • This is really helpful, Chris. Finding work in a small market is the most challenging part for me, but if I factor in the internet, it shouldn't be as hard.

    Also, if you press 1 and 3 continuously, Chris is juggling, y'all.

  • If you have highly specialized skills, consider contracting on 1099 or Corp-to-Corp. That way you can maintain a freelancer status while maintaining a somewhat steady income stream and staying open to additional work on the side.

  • I actually co-started a business now in Canada that gives techs a place to find jobs. As my NDA prohibits me saying wbqt site, have you seen ONFORCE.COM lately? Yes, take a test or two before you can even start accepting jobs. :)
