Even using GLSL mods very extensively and intensively I never had a problem recording to FRAPS at >100 FPS. That said I was recording to a super fast storage device (RAM). Perhaps that is the bottleneck for most people...

Guys, this is simply a video recording mod.

It will allow you to record video, but not sound OR voice.

For that, I would recommend buying dxtory, an ALTERNATE to fraps, except with more features and MUCH LESS lag.

@SpaceOctopus55 Well first you need Modloader (there's plenty of tutorials online if you don't know how to install that). After that just drag and drop all the 3 folders that were included in the .rar file into your .Minecraft folder (Overwrite when asked).
