I love Robbie Robertson and all his Songs especially the ones about Native Americans as I am one myself and this man must know the True Meaning of our Heritage.... Thank God for Robbie Robertson.....I have your CD Ghost Dance and I play it every day on my way to work....I love you forever Robbie....
seek the truth, and i promise,,, mr. robie is not truth... LOL.... I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIfe. I AM... JESUS CHRIST.... "Jesus is my Savior.".....
just know all men and animal is one,its just animalkind has never strayed away with Creator, was it he who created us all, and we as men and women are the children, sons and daughters of the Almighty God all we have to do is get right in one with him..so,dont tell people christ is just the Son tell everyone we all are..lets all council as one blood one family one relation and show his love to all and give love to all in our world our Mother Earth...wado
Now THAT'S a great video! Of course the song too...
I've often wondered why Native Americans seem to gravitate towards me.
I'm a white guy from the East Coast but whenever I've been out West they've not only showed me kindness but a sense of belonging as well.
When I lived in Denver, a member of the Ute Nation invited me to their reservation so I could register my truck (from PA.) there to avoid getting emission stickers, A total stranger! I hung out there, on the Plains, all the time.
It wasn't until later that my white aquantances showed shock and almost horror that I hung out with my new friends on Ute land.
Same thing a few years later when I played bass with a rock tribute act at the casino in Acoma NM. I got a personal tour of the very pueblo in this video.
I can't put into words the feeling this place gave me. More than just the unbelievably beautiful landscape... More like a sense of something beyond words.
I've had a special fascination for "Showdown" since I first heard it. Incredibly moving, it speaks to my soul as few songs can. Thank you for taking the time to post it so I can enjoy it at any time. Blessings, Nick

Too bad it says "Native American Robbie Robertson" because he's Canadian, and this song is dedicated to Canadian Natives...either way though, RR is useless.
GREAT - Peter GABRIEL in the clip ! The WHOLE album "Robbie Robertson" from 1987 is EXCELLENT - it features guest-artists such as U2, Tony Levin, Daniel Lanois and Peter Gabriel.
Hello, this is my evil twin. Please forgive her for the following, it's shallow, maybe it's her mid-life crisis, she can't help it. "Showdown At Big Sky - a truly great song, but can anyone name another music video that crams so many handsome men into 5 minutes.......?"
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! thanks for positing this..I have been going through some emotional stuff these past few days.. we have had huge bushfires here in Victoria Australia..and it's bringing up a lot of my past for resolution..thanks its very healing ..Robbie is just awesome..I'd love to see him perform live..wow..I'm on a mission now to seek some more wisdom about his work.. thank you!
He is of Great Spirit ... this song, so melodious, beautiful ... then another ... I could listen to our Brother sing all day ... wa do... Peace, light, love...Namaste. Aho
We may not all be highrollers like the dude in his/her earlier comments but I can say this much...our artists will change the world as YOU know, and as I know it! I am also in kind of a quandary myself here wondering, do not all "americans or canadians" have some Aboriginal blood in them? If you don't know then you should search back in your so-called roots. Perhaps you may find that we are all alike in one way or another whether you like it or not!!!
to fireprayer. i'm a huge fan of Robbie Robertson. whether he's working alone, or with The Band, or the Red Road Ensemble, he never fails to disappoint as a performer. this is a wonderful find. thx for sharing it. peace :)

I have a theory that the actor Fred Ward and Robbie Robertson are the same person. Also they are the same age.
