in january this year 2010 i was fishing at nab rock in the mumbles, the time was about 11.15 in morning whilst looking up at my rod tip i was observing planes from cardiff and the odd helicopter,then a bright object cought my eye and i observed this for about 25 mins as it moved slow across the sky,then it turned and flew towards me but was still at distance out of focus then it stoped right above me and stayed ther for about 5 mins then started to move away behind me ,

we saw a sighting at 11.10pm on friday 4/6/2010, a stationary bright glowing orange light  high in the atmosphere then after a few moments at disappeared ...this was definitely not a lantern.....

Me n My boyfriend saw similar strange lights as the fireworks started new years eve around 12am. We looked out the window to watch the fireworks and seen a strange orange light appear moving across the sky, then another and another til there where about eight lights moving at a steady speed across the sky then just dissapeared! Definetley wasn't helicopters as no flashing lights and no sound either. I wasn't into Ufos before but that really spooked me!

ya they were probably chinese lanterns. if u look on new years eve nite and fireworks nite u will no doubt see them again. i see them all the time these times of year. i do believe in ufo's tho i saw massive red flashes in the sky over my house few days ago and i cant explain them. they were huge flashes and moved around half a mile per second. as one shot out of my view behind trees another appeared where the 1st started and then shot in a different direction behind the mountain. really strange

I have been watching a similar thing every night out my back garden. Watch the weather and "Derek" sais what time it comes past. It's a satelite. I don't know if this is the same but its good.

Might be a satalite, but a little big don't you think. I live in swansea where this is but I didnt see this one last saturday me and my missus and my mate saw the exact same thing only like 25 of them not all at once but in a big long line, and flying up and down and in not an exact formation. might of been air craft but no noise and this is really really out of the norm for so many "aircraft" to be flying in this area all at once together as they were, so yeah, spooky stuff. :S

i live in herefordshire and go to wales every year and i read in the paper about them then one night i saw 3 at pitton cross.does and one here knw why the other side of the road opposite pitton cross campsite is so freaky bones every where realy bad atmosphere my dog who likes anything and everything ddnt even want to go up there??

Oh my god I've seen four lights like this tonight, guy faulkes night 2008, and they were also around the area of the firework display in st Helens. They were red and travelled over the sketty uplands area. How crazy is that!

i seen one just like that last year 2007 on guy forks night, it was above st helens rugby ground during the fireworks display, it stayed in the same position for most of the time then moved in a type of fashion unlike a helicopter or anything, then after the show it went towards the bay and out of sight.

On bonfire night 2007 the same thing happened 2 lights heading towards port talbot, hundreds of people on the beach just confused! but i wouldn't be surprised if they were chinese lanterns.

Saw a real one in port talbot a few years ago, except it was low and had actual structure around the light.

Like a big ball, only it flew in one direction.. was completely silent, didnt flicker like a flame and actually broke into 2 seperate objects. No way that one was a chinese lantern.

Could be a flying chinese lantern or ufo balloon. They are very popular at parties and weddings ect.. they are red/orange in colour and burn for 10 to 15 minuets.

Hey m8 i live in Llanelli and i seen something pretty strange on June 1st this year, im not sure if it was the international space station, but it sure as hell wasent moving in a straight line (which i would expect it too), but it weaved left and right in its path across the sky before disappearing into the distance.

Hey im seeing the same thing here in south yorkshire every night whenever the sky is clear, its happening all the time, some of them come over in pairs, never seen three of them together though, somethings going on and it has something to do with america.

i saw very similar lights multiple times after they appeared over over phoenix, az a few years ago (i live 3 hours away from phoenix). I chased one down one night and discovered that it was some type of flare on a parachute.
