Umm, sorry to say, but this is kind of pathetic. You've got everyone protesting and for what? You will find that the Japanese live action was way different from the manga, right? Yeahh. And did you know that the potential Light Yagami was most likely going to be Zac Efron, who, and I quote, "loves Death Note"? So why would they screw it up? I'm excited to see a movie of deathnote. The material can make a really great movie so it would be awesome if they don't screw this up. It's not like dragonball where the material could only leads to a shitty movie. This has it's chance. But it's still to early to say anything about it.

I think unlike the ring, people will be more aware that is was actaully japanese. They are selling the anime in stores, but sitll they should mention the manga in interviews, and not take the credit away from the author.

Before I didn't that the ring was actually a remake, I get what you mean.

They did the same with The Ring... If you go to a movie store, and you ask for The Ring, they only have the american version... And the whole idea was from Hideo Nakata, and no one even knows it!!

Death Note will now be a comercial film and no one will know that it is an anime! I feel so depressed right now... :(

i was totely pissed aboute The Ring with amarica. i have the manga. Japan never got creddit. they also did it with The Grudge. Luckly they changed the name of the movie in amarica. the real name for The Grudge is Ju-On. Thank god people think The Grudge is just a vefrens of Ju-On. pluss the mangas better then the movie.
